  1. they might as well rename the button to "void warranty" lol...whats the point in putting the feature in if its gonna void the warranty and break the car...
  2. Yeh I know that theres the chance that the battery could have totally had it but thought I'd just take a chance and if it works then at least I dont have to buy a new battery lol.
  3. As per title, what size socket do I need in order to remove my wheels? Managed to get a brand new locking key from lexus after finding the key number so just prepping myself up really for when I get the car on the road as the socket on my extendable wheel wrench is too small.
  4. Thanks again mate. Its good to have members which are nearby. Dont think I've ever come across a club which is as friendly and helpful as this one. You'll have to see my car when I get it on the road mate.
  5. Nice one gord! you're a saviour mate! Does it work well at charging batteries mate as I remember the cheap ones u used to get never worked properly lol. I've got a lot on this week but should be able to meet up with you sometime tomorrow if its ok with you. I'm from M12 area of manchester btw.
  6. I've got jump leads mate but need the charger so I can give the battery a good charge as it really is as flat as anything. I've jump started the car in the past and ran it for over 30mins I think but the battery was that low that when I turned the engine off I couldnt start it again but I could operate the central locking/alarm/cd player etc off the remaining power in the battery.
  7. I can jump start the car mate but cant drive it as it still hasnt been repaired so thats why I need a charger so I can charge the battery so it doesnt need jump starting when it goes to be repaired whilst its being repaired. The battery defo needs charging as the car hasnt been driven for a long period of time now, just hope its still got some life in it.
  8. I thought honda would be number 1 tbh. Bit surprised about bmw being number 1, thought they have quite a few issues with the diesel engines dont they?
  9. As per title, has anyone got a battery charger I could borrow to charge the battery on my lex please? I'm in the manchester area and am in bolton a lot as well. I need to charge the battery so the car can be started before it goes to the bodyshop. Cheers Edit: can a mod please correct the spelling mistake in the title. thanks
  10. So what about IS200 wheels? Does that mean that I could get mine replaced FOC from lexus as its classed as a manufacturing defect?
  11. Lexus bolton will give you a discount on parts but only 10% though. Ask for Alan and mention that you are a member of the club and he'll sort the discount out. I got a full front panel for £163 inc vat with the discount as wel! Scrappies wanted £250 for it!
  12. apart from the headlight brackets, the headlight panel may be damaged as well as its only a thin frame of metal. If the panel is damaged then you dont need a full front panel only the section thats damaged as its available in bits as well. IIRC each headlight panel bit is about £30 from lexus bolton.
  13. auto lights are exactly what they say....they go on and off depending upon the level of light. whats the solar sensor do?
  14. I cant drive it back due to the paperwork and mot mate so thats why I'd rather trailor it back. Due to uni commitments etc its gonna take me a bit to sort out the little formalities but should hopefully have it done within a week or 2 of having the car fixed. I left the paperwork til so late due to the car being off the road. Had an email from nads and he told me he hasnt got his own truck or trailor but is gonna find out the costs of transporting it for me. As you said its not far but I know its gonna cost something silly. When I got the car it cost me £50 to have it delivered to manchester from cheshire so would be helpful if I could find someone with a trailor really.
  15. As per title, has anyone in the manchester area got a trailor I could borrow? I need to take my car to the garage to be repaired but it costs an arm n a leg to get it trailored so if anyone could do their good deed for the day and help me out then it would be much appreciated. Car will need taking to the bodyshop to be repaired then when its fixed will need trailoring back again as well.
  16. printworks is a good place and shouldnt be any trouble there either. deansgate locks is rammed with students but the bars on deansgate such as living room are good.
  17. can we have some pics of the user interface by the way and a review of it if possible?
  18. oh no...this thread has now become a bad influence and its tempting me to upgrade from my AVX1 to that very same double din unit...arghhh! I love the JVC units especially the double din ones coz of their features and this unit would be simply amazing....I must try and resist the temptation...
  19. I cant set up a GB as I aint a gold member so someone is gonna have to take charge of this. I wonder how cheap we can get these though.
  20. they look well nice...the more i see some the more i get the craving for some lol. they suit the car so well.
  21. Been a while since I've updated this thread but its all good news. Yesterday I picked up a brand new full front panel from Lexus Bolton and also picked up my new locking nut! Cant believe it but last week I actually found my locking nut key number in the glove box of the car lol. I had checked everywhere including the glovebox and cant believe I missed it so now I've got a spare lot of locking nuts available that I bought off Tony thinking that I'd have to break off the current ones. Apart from the front panel and locking nut I managed to get hold of a bonnet with hinges the other week as well. Its in the same colour as my car but will need a respray as its got a few scratches on it. Weirdest part though is that the car I got it off had been rolled over and somehow the bonnet survived lol. Got a mint drivers side wing in platinum ice recently as well which I'm well chuffed with. Also with the help of KrisT I got his mint front bumper with washer jets and grill too. Now that I've got all the required parts the car can finally go to a body shop so I'm just trying to sort that out now. Cant wait to show everyone the before and after pics lol Once the cars fixed its time for the ICE :D
  22. No problem mate. If I use them then I'm sure we'll be able to sort something out and u'll be able to see the before and after for real then lol.
