  1. temptation is starting to get the better of me lmao! depending upon price I may get them but they've got no tyres on them so its gonna cost me more money buying tyres. the thought only crossed my mind as the wheels on my car have been curbed quite a bit. oh bugger they're on the same colour car as well lol... apart from these wheels being the same diameter are they the same width as standard is200 wheels or wider as I'm sure the 220/250 wheels were wider
  2. hmm very interesting. got any more pics that are larger mate? I'm not sure if I should go for them. Also, are they wider than standard wheels btw?
  3. If anyones interested theres one on ebay at the moment but the price has gone quite high http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-LEXUS-IS-200...A1%7C240%3A1318
  4. As per title just wondering will the 10 spoke IS220 17" alloys fit on the IS200? Are they wider as well?
  5. cool. well I think I'll just end up going for whichever works out the best value
  6. cool, I'll defo be looking into the gates stuff. so overall its gates of higher quality than others I'm guessing? is this the recommended brand?
  7. oh ffs, not more bad luck mate. sorry to hear this. I know how it feels when your car gets hit. my civic was hit twice within a year and it still does my head in to this day but with everything thats gone on with my lex I can understand the feeling of having to get it repaired and then something else going wrong. Hope once this is sorted everything goes smoothly for u mate.
  8. cool mate, I'll look into getting in touch with them and see what kinda advice they can give me. by any chance have u got a contact number for them? also, gates do do a kit for the IS200 or all bits seperatly, its just a matter of finding them lol for example just found this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-IS200-2-0-TIMI...A1%7C240%3A1318
  9. £90?!!! is that just for the timing belt or for the kit? I've been told i'm looking at about £30 for just the belt from lexus lol
  10. what sorta prices did you find for the gates belts compared to oem ones mate? so what do people recommend? should I just go direct to lexus or go for blueprint or gates? As for labour, my mechanic will be able to sort the fitting out at a decent rate. I paid £60 labour to get the timing belt changed on my civic ;)
  11. do u know what brand parts they used btw mate? also should I get the aux belts changed ie powersteering, ac etc
  12. it should be compatible but you will need a facia convertor and also an amp bypass cable if you car has a built in amp
  13. thanks for the info mate. which make did u go for and how much did it cost?
  14. I remember earlier freelanders having extremely poor crash test results, 2 stars or something so I'd defo look into that first mate. The new freelanders aint that bad I think but dont know if its a new chassis or not therefore improving crash ratings or not
  15. As I'll be putting the car on the road at the start of march it'll need a major service which will involve getting the belts changed but I'm not sure which ones to go for. I've had quotes from Lexus bolton for their belt kit but their kit doesnt include the idler pulley which they said they never change so its personal preference if u wanna change that. Have also had quotes from Andrew page, they said that it would be a Blueprint/ADL part, but I didnt ask them about gates stuff. Apart from all that I've had a look around for the gates belt kit too which as far as I'm aware contains the idler pulley as well. So, Q1. If you've changed your belts then have you changed the pulley as well? Q2. Should I get the pulley changed as well or get a kit with the pulley with it? Q3. Most of the quotes I've had are of similar prices but lexus said that the kit they provide is their own make and not gates, (I assumed it may be gates like other car companies provide) and when I rang up andrew page and they told me it would be a blueprint kit, even tho blueprint stuff is decent quality I dont really know what blueprint belt kits are like or dont really fancy putting that kit in tbh so what make should I go for? One last question, how much roughly would I expect labour to cost for a belt change and how long does it take? Thanks
  16. lucky I still got my civic lol. not looking forward to snow when I start driving the lex though
  17. @ macrs200 hi mate, I havent had a chance to install office on the other halfs netbook yet after the windows install but will try and get round to it sometime today. I can confirm though that its still running really well and really quick for only having 512mb ram. since installing xp on hers, I installed xp onto her bro's Asus EeePC which went well as well. I'll defo be keeping my USB install of windows to hand. As for the option about the USB recover mate, if you right click on my computer and go to properties, then to the advanced tab, then click on settings under startup and recovery, a new window will open and in the top section show the startup options. I wouldnt uncheck the "time to display startup options" or the recovery options bit but if you want you could reduce the time of the display startup options which will then reduce the countdown timer.
  18. how do u change the power steering fluid anyway?
  19. whiffbitz have got the greddy front lip!! :D I think I'm getting an urge lol
  20. how much did it set u back if u dont mind me asking mate and where from?
  21. interesting website but as many people have said they'd rather purchase a unit from a big company and get a decent unit rather than get generic units from china which although they may "fit" the dash properly they defo wont sound as good as a premium brand unit. just out of curiosity though, who manufactures the standard IS200 unit?
  22. As per title, is it ok to use redex on the IS200? As my car aint been driven for so long and the petrol in it is really old I thought that when I put it on the road I'll stick some redex in along with a nice full tank of petrol. Will this also help when it comes to getting the mot done, emissions etc?
  23. how much was the touch up kit mate?
  24. try and get a new car off em mate. there must be something u can do.
  25. I think I'll be visiting tony as well to get mine done when i put the car on the road as said above only the best will do. It'll make for a good drive too ;)
