  1. ok, I had a struggle, but I found that it uses the same fuse as the interior dome light. Does that work ok ?
  2. Is it definitely only the boot light that doesn't work ? I don't think it has its own fuse, so if that's the only thing not working I think it's unlikely to be the fuse. Have you got a multimeter so you can test if there's voltage coming into the bulb-holder ?
  3. I wouldn't bank on any exhausts improving your performance, especially not in a noticeable fashion. Unless perhaps you decat the whole thing (and then you're potentially into MoT issues and so forth).
  4. Yep, the biggest difference for me since upgrading my ARBs is being able to go round corners a lot faster and still feel safe and in total control :D
  5. The TRC and ABS light flashing shows that there may be something wrong in that part of the system - the ABS sensors are used by the TRC system. Although who knows, that could be a red herring. You really need to get the codes off there and then we can start to try and figure out what's wrong.
  6. Welcome ! :D 1. There's an online workshop manual here, which you'll find very useful. 2. It's always worth getting a price from Lexus/Toyota. Also try places like CheapToyotaParts and Japarts. Also try your local motor factors for Blueprint parts. 3. No, if you change the key fob battery it shouldn't affect anything to do with the locking/immobiliser.
  7. Yes, it might be the fuse. The fuse is in the driver's side fuse box (by your feet, in a side panel, the inside of the lid tells you which fuse is which). Try swapping the fuse and see if that makes a difference.
  8. Yay, it worked ! :D Thanks guys for your help, wired it to a bolt underneath the gear trim and DVDs then played perfectly ! :D
  9. Yeah I'm sorry to say that it sounds like your head unit is on the way out. There is lots of info about how to replace the head unit with an aftermarket one over on the audio/electronics forum.
  10. Good question, but sorry, I can't remember what it looks like inside. On mine, the bulb points towards a ridged bit of the lens, which might help diffuse the light a bit. I guess you can try it and see. Trouble is it's quite a fiddly job, so I suggest not installing it all back in fully until you've tested it out to see if you like the end result, in case you decide to swap it back again or try something different.
  11. There are lots of products so everyone has their own favourites. At the end of the day if a product is easy to use and produces a good result you'd probably recommend it. So you probably won't go wrong with any of the common recommendations over on the detailing sites.
  12. I checked my number plate bulbs (LEDs), and on my 1999 model they point in a slightly strange direction, sort of at a 45 degree angle outwards. So I still am not sure that the originally posted bulbs are going to work too well due to the light coming straight out of those and not to the sides (unlike the inverted LEDs which product light to the sides).
  13. I'd recommend checking out Detailing World, as inicol said. You'll find lots of inspiration over there. But be warned, it'll probably end up with you spending a fortune on detailing products !
  14. I don't really know. But you can buy head-cleaning discs from eBay very cheaply. They're basically like a normal CD except with a tiny brush stuck to it which you apply cleaning fluid too. Might be worth a try. If it's just on CDs rather than, say, the radio, then I guess it's more likely something to do with the CD mechanism than the speakers.
  15. Which came first Chris, your own Lex with the black bits, or the model one ? When are you adding the decals to your road car ? :D
  16. Is that because of technical superiority or because the way games are developed though ? I think your "simple fact" is about the way games run, not about what's possible from the hardware.
  17. It might be worth your while buying an OBDII code reader, if you don't have convenient access to one already. They don't cost much (e.g. less than £30 on eBay for a standalone one, and even less than that if you have a laptop) and could well save you money very easily. As Stav said, if you get all the codes and post them up, then I'm sure folks here will be able to help.
  18. It can't be 10yrs as the IS300 has the same service schedule as the IS200 - and the sheet says 100K or 6 years (whichever comes first). This has been revised for the IS200 down to 60K, but I assume the time of 6yrs still applies to both The service schedule below shows 100K/10 years for both. I know that the IS200 was revised down to 60K/6 years, but I have no idea about the IS300.
  19. I'm confused but it's probably me just misunderstanding something :duh: Not sure what you mean about the Altezza having its exhaust on the "wrong" side, surely it's on the same side as the IS200 ? Actually while typing I think maybe I've worked it out, does the RS200 Altezza (I'm guessing you mean the RS200 with the 3S-GE as opposed to all Altezzas - e.g. AS200 would be same as IS200) have its exhaust manifold on the "wrong" side (i.e. same side as your new engine) ?
  20. ok, mine is 1999, so I will double-check what way the bulbs (LEDs) point on mine tonight.
