  1. Coil packs often seems to fail in pairs. Sorry if you're already clear on this, but is it definitely three and not either two or four that you need ? If it's just a cheaper-than-new-from-Lexus price, then you could try Japarts, who have coil packs for £60. e.g. here on eBay
  2. ok, I see what you're asking now, sorry. A set of PC 5.1 speakers should come with all the necessary cables to plug into your various jacks, yes, your PC can obviously handle 5.1 (or more). There might be other sets of 5.1 speakers that are designed for other purposes though.
  3. Not sure if I am understanding you correctly. Are you asking what sort of speakers you should get if you just want two speakers, i.e. to plug them in via a single jack into the green connector ? If so, something like this should do the job, assuming it's just a cheap set that you're after.
  4. Yours might have been built in 04 but not registered till 05. There may well be a build date on your seat belts.
  5. How does the inside of the oil filler cap look ? Is it just oily, or is there stuff in there which sort of looks like mayonnaise ?
  6. I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong. But as I understand it, an LSD will help you put the power down when cornering hard. With an "open" (conventional) diff, the power could mostly be spun away through a lightly-loaded wheel due to the cornering forces, meaning you won't get the power down properly. A limited-slip diff will, as the name suggests, limit the slip that the diff produces which means that you can get more power down. Traction control can work in different ways. On the IS200 it seems to work by detecting when the wheels are slipping and then limiting/cutting the power. So the LSD helps you put more power down in some situations, whereas the IS200's electronic traction control will actual cut the power in other situations. So they'll be doing different things. But yes, in a way the LSD is a sort of traction control.
  7. Part numbers and pictures of the three different tail lamp units are in this thread.
  8. Your car shouldn't be burning oil as such, so if it is that could be the sign of a problem. Does the exhaust seem to smoke a lot ? If so, what colour is the smoke - e.g. white/blue/grey ? How many miles has the car done ? Have you had it long ?
  9. I posted an eBay link earlier :winky: , here's a link for another one - eBay
  10. Like this sort of thing for the lip version ...
  11. I'm sure there was a post not too long ago where someone said you could get a sort of cut-to-fit spoiler thing that they thought would work pretty well. Obviously that would just be a small lip one though, not a bigger one with brake light etc. Might be worth looking out for an option of a boot lid from a breaker's complete with the sort of spoiler that you're after ?
  12. Unclip the front part of the plastic door surround trim (on the floor) - you don't need to remove it, just loosen it a bit. Undo a plastic nut thingy deep in the footwell against the engine bay bulkhead (you should be able to do it by hand), which holds the side panel in. Then it basically just unclips and pulls out.
  13. This might not be the quick reply you were hoping for, but those are the right type of bulbs to fit for 2003 and earlier models. From 2003 there was a change and a different fog light bulb is needed (but the dipped beams stayed the same). I'm assuming you're talking about the dipped beams when you mentioned your headlights. However, IMHO these bulbs are a waste of money, you can buy a HID kit for about twice the price of that and it will be more than twice as bright. A HID kit is easy to fit and will make a lot more difference.
  14. ok, so I got one of the 36-LED versions and just installed it. Here are the before (OEM) and after (36 LEDs) pics : The LED light is *much* brighter than the OEM light, which doesn't really come across in the photos - my camera used a much faster shutter speed for the second photo. What you can see is how much whiter the light is from the LEDs. Very happy with it, took about 1 minute to install it, plenty of room in the light fitting for it. Thanks to Stav and Dino for your help :D
  15. The Densos and NGKs are both used by Lexus as OEM equipment. I'd rather pay slightly more for a higher-performing plug which is going to last 30K miles anyway, rather than get plugs which are slightly cheaper and will last 60K. But maybe that's just me.
  16. My headlamp washers aren't working, but when I press the button I can hear the motor buzzing, do you hear anything like that ? I still need to investigate mine but haven't got round to taking off the bumper to have a look yet. The motor is by the water tank, yes. See this diagram. A relay is there too. There is also a relay that is used in the engine compartment, 30A H-LP CLN. It uses the same fuse as the windscreen washers, in the driver's side fuse box. So if the windscreen washers are working ok it isn't the fuse.
  17. Please excuse my ignorance, but is that the part labelled as 45046 (at the top) in the diagram below ? If so, the same part is used on the IS200 and IS300.
  18. There is one set of settings for the IS200, and you can get them from WIM for someone else to do it. The trouble is, you need both someone with the right sort of equipment (WIM have a very advanced machine for this) *and* someone who really knows what they're doing to (one of the items that needs adjusting on the IS200 is not directly adjustable, but can be indirectly adjusted).
  19. I agree that SK20s are "even better" in terms of how long they'll last, as you say. But bear in mind that the IK20s are higher-performance plugs, i.e. although they last half as long they are supposed to maximise performance and fuel economy. I've got IK20s in mine.
  20. Good choice on making the trip to WIM so that you *know* you'll be getting a proper job done on the geo setup :winky:
