  1. I had a gas bill for £860 the other day, but that was because I read the meter wrong myself !
  2. The thing about the TTE charger kit is that it's just that, i.e. a kit designed to bolt on to your IS200 in a very straightforward way. Yes, in theory you could buy your own charger and then design and make your own piping, get an intercooler, etc, but that would be pretty complicated. Keep your eyes on the "For Sale" forum, they do crop up from time to time, not sure if there is one available there at the moment.
  3. There are some tips for cleaning Ecsaine on the manufacturer's website here :winky: It talks about wiping the fabric with a cloth that is well wrung-out. Sounds like you don't want to get it very wet, so I don't think it sounds like using a Vax on it will be a good idea.
  4. Great to see the new engine in there ! :D What's their ETA for getting it all finished ? I know they want to do it right and not rush it, but have you got an idea for roughly how much longer it'll be ?
  5. Seriously, why not Lexus/Toyota ? Sometimes their parts are cheaper than you might think. And you can usually get a discount if you join LOC as a Gold member. Otherwise you could try a motor factors or somewhere like CheapToyotaParts or Japarts.
  6. Given that this looks a bit hit and miss, why not replace the whole head unit ? You can get a much better head unit with lots of extra features, e.g. Bluetooth, MP3 playback etc, etc.
  7. You might not be too late for the a/c rings, I'm not sure. See my reply in the Group Buy thread on those.
  8. Sounds like a belt is slipping on the power steering, no, that's not normal. The "shudder" when you pull away is pretty common though. I think when it's cold you may find it's quite sensitive to getting the revs just right when pulling away, not too little nor too much.
  9. I have Wozza's one, which I can email to you if you PM me your email address.
  10. Yes, they would. But beware, one of the things that needs adjusting is the caster, and the caster isn't directly adjustable on the IS200. However, there is something else you can adjust (can't remember what) which will *indirectly* adjust the caster though. So it's non-trivial.
  11. ok, found it. Information courtesy of Carles :
  12. There's a pinned thread in the Wheels & Tyres forum all about the different wheel sizes and offsets etc for the IS200 :winky:
  13. You can tell if it's got an LSD or not via the chassis code on the plate in the engine bay. I had a quick look but couldn't find the posting that explained it. I'll carry on looking !
  14. You will get tiny, probably un-noticeable, performance increases through things like an induction kit, catback exhaust, decat, etc. For any serious increase you're going to have to go down the supercharging (e.g. very easy to install TTE kit if you can find one), turbocharging (typically very complex) or engine swap (e.g. 3S-GTE, 1G-GTE, 2JZ etc) routes.
  15. I used the one from Safe 'n' Sound, bundled with the fascia adapter. You're getting some sort of fascia adapter as well as the bypass lead, right ? There's a walkthrough from Aztec on how to fit the bypass lead into the amp, over in the Workshop section.
  16. Yeah the wiring is very simple. I intend to take some pics of mine once I get them in, just to show it, but as Stav said there's nothing to it really. Just remember to use a fuse for electrical safety reasons. As was said earlier in the thread, one member's car actually started to catch fire at WIM once because there was a problem and they hadn't used a fuse !
  17. I'm in the process of doing this myself, putting them on top of the headlight as has been suggested (if you want to put them inside then you'll need to bake the headlamps in the oven to soften the glue for opening up, try searching for more info on this). I bought some fuse-holders from Maplin and some 160mA quick-blow fuses from eBay. The LED strips that you want are the ones with 24 LEDs like these ones, if you're going for mounting them on the top.
  18. I have no direct experience of this, but I've read on this forum that the 13902 doesn't work with the Grom. e.g. see this thread. I've no idea if this is true but it sounds like you should be cautious.
  19. PJ S, why are sealants better for silver cars ? Mine is silver and I've got Bilt-Hamber Auto-Balm (still unused, sadly ! ). Just curious about the silver/sealant thing.
