  1. Make sure you get the hole in the outer edge of the ring lined up over the "pointer" on the OEM dials before you push them on. If they're misaligned you'll find it a job to get them off again !
  2. This is a very very common problem on the IS200, and is caused by the manufacturer's OEM geometry settings, which are, let's say, less-than-optimal. You need to get your car setup with the WIM (Wheels in Motion) geometry settings, either by a visit there (quite a trek from you to Chesham, in Bucks, but it'll be a great journey back !) or by finding someone else who can do it to WIM's settings. See WIM's website here on this.
  3. If you've got the old stainless steel rings then you need to pull those off. If, however, you've just got the plastic OEM dials, then you don't pull anything off, you just push the new dials (they're quite a tight fit) over the top.
  4. If the ABS cuts in then you will feel a "pulsing" through the brake pedal.
  5. If you get yourself a kit, then it'll probably come with instructions and you'll be able to see how straightforward it is. Feel free to ask more questions here if you're not sure about something, e.g. you try it but get stuck.
  6. Just to add, there will be a couple of wires to connect up that may well be specific to whatever head unit you have. The IS200 has an amplifier for the built-in roof aerial, and you need to supply power from the head unit to this otherwise your radio won't work (I assume this is the same on Australian models). There's a bit on this in the head unit removal guide, the aerial amp power wire is a black wire that runs alongside the actual aerial wire itself, this needs connecting to a suitable wire coming from the head unit, there's normally something handy that can be used for this, e.g. a wire that the head unit can use to power an external amp. If you are installing a DVD player it might well have a safety device to try and stop you playing DVDs on the move, e.g. telling you to connect a particular wire to the handbrake wiring in the car so that it will only play DVDs while the handbrake is applied. If this is the case, then check the instructions for the head unit, but it probably just needs connecting to a suitable earth, and there are some bolts underneath the gearshift fascia that you can use for this.
  7. It's easy. If you have an IS200 with the built-in amp, i.e. SE or Sport model, then you will need an amp bypass cable from eBay. If you don't have the amp, you will just need an ISO adapter cable (I beleive the one for the MR2 also works for the IS200). You will also need a plastic fascia adapter, the Autoleads one is a popular one. You will find DJ Wozza's guide on how to modify this adapter here, this is to give it more of an OEM finish. I can email you Wozza's head unit removal guide if you PM me your email address.
  8. Aztec beat me to an eBay link. Agree that probably the hardest bit is deciding where to stick the ballasts. There is loads of room on the driver's side, but the passenger's side can be slightly fiddly because there's less room. Depending on how big your hands are it can be fiddly trying to get the passenger side bulb replaced by the HID one.
  9. Something like this would do the job fine for you (but there are loads of others on eBay). I would recommend that you pick 6000K colour temperature, as a good balance between brightness and "looking cool", and not causing a problem with the police (if you get something like 10000K then it will be very blue and may result in the police pulling you over).
  10. It's really, really easy to install HIDs. I did it myself and I'm not exactly the best at doing this sort of thing (understatement). It's a plug-and-play job, you pull out the existing bulb and bulb holder, connect the wire that used to go to the bulb into the HID connector, then insert the HID "bulb" into the headlamp. That's about it ! You just need to somehow secure the HID ballasts (the small boxes of electronics for each side) to somewhere nearby, sticky pads are good for this sort of thing. If you find the HID doesn't work, then you just need to pull out the electrical connector and insert it the other way round, that's a common issue on the IS200. You can get decent kits off eBay for less than £50 now.
  11. No, you'll need to get the correct belt for the IS200, it has a different engine, 1G-FE.
  12. If you PM me your email address, I can send you Wozza's head unit removal guide.
  13. The sensors are shown in these diagrams. Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the first diagram.
  14. Saw a great trailer for BBC's F1 coverage last night, with two cars racing each other around some streets, through a warehouse etc. The best bit of it was, right at the end they played the classic BBC F1 music, The Chain (Fleetwood Mac) ! :D
  15. Try experimenting with more revs or less revs, and see if that helps.
  16. There's a handy thread on this over in the Wheels & Tyres forum, here :winky:
  17. The LOC online shop sells caliper decals, although they're sometimes out of stock. Personally, I prefer the curved caliper decals that you can get off eBay (the LOC ones are straight).
  18. Hammer a screwdriver into the side of the oil filter and then use that as a handle to wrench it off ? Just a guess, I could be wrong !
  19. Good to see that the Brawn team got saved. I think it'll be interesting to see how BMW do, given how early they started work on their car fo rthis year. You know, I'd completely forgotten that the coverage was swapping to the BBC this year, yay for no ad breaks ! :D
  20. From what I understood of it, it hasn't been put off, it's introduction has just been delayed until 2010 - so from then on it's high tax for those of us with post March 2001 cars.......... The exemption, which includes the IS200, won't be introduced in 2010 either, that's been confirmed. But it hasn't been announced what will happen in 2011.
  21. There's a whole load of info on TezzaWorld, e.g. try here. The Z Edition and L Edition were variants of the RS200. Think there was a Z Edition AS200 too.
  22. Slightly over 4 litres if you're taking the filter off, for the earlier cars. But bizzarely slightly less for the later cars, wonder what changed ?
  23. It's a great time to be buying though ! Loads of used ones around, prices much lower than they used to be, so just take your time and wait till you find one that feels exactly right for you. Then post up lots of pics for us to see ! :D
  24. The TTE kit already comes with an intercooler. But did you mean you were thinking of getting a bigger one ?
