  1. Have a good journey, and let us know how you get on !
  2. It's here. I used this walkthrough myself and added the pictures assembling it for a double-DIN head unit.
  3. Strange that you got a noise from your speaker when plugging in the amp bypass lead. Was the ignition off at the time ? I wonder if that speaker has blown for some reason. I didn't get any problem whatsoever with my amp bypass lead.
  4. Here's the pic of my dome light. I imagine the colour of the map light change will be similar. These are white LEDs.
  5. You mean of a map light with LEDs in it ? I'll post one up at mine once I get the LEDs and put them in - I imagine that'll take several days until they get here though. I did post up a pic of my dome (central) light with LEDs in though, with a pic of the regular light to compare it to, in another thread.
  6. Doh, didn't realise there was a walkthrough ! Thanks though, I guessed you might have to take off the whole surround, cheers. I've ordered one of those 6-LED lights from eBay, will see how I get on with that.
  7. Lol. Actually my washer only has an on/off on the body too. But how about the nozzle/gun, on mine you can alter the width of the spray (which has a major affect at how strong the jet is) as well as also moving it between higher and lower pressure modes (via a different part of the nozzle).
  8. Think I will order one of these, looks like there's plenty of room in there. How on earth do you get the cover off to get inside though ? I found the dome light cover easy to remove, perhaps because it's bigger and more flexible ? Is it possible to just take off the clear light cover for the map light, or do you need to remove the whole of the plastic surround (which goes around the sunroof switches too) ?
  9. They haven't done it everywhere in the UK yet, as you say, it's still a work-in-progress.
  10. Whenever you use a pressure washer, you need to use common sense. I would never use my pressure washer on its maximum settings and finest jet anywhere near my car, because it would probably strip paint and/or cause other damage. Similarly, I don't think it would be a good idea to use a pressure washer at maximum settings in the engine bay. But pressure washers do typically have adjustable settings, you know :winky:
  11. I don't know exactly what will fit your alloys (e.g. whether they need specific wheel nuts), but as far as I can tell those McGard ones you've linked to on eBay are not the right ones. I've seen other people here on LOC say they've used them on the IS200, and whilst they will physically fit the OEM alloys, they're a different shape from the OEM wheel nuts, so I don't think they're right at all. The 21156 McGard nuts are a very close match for the OEM wheel nuts, and that's what I've got on mine. As I say though, you'll need to check what will fit your alloys as well as fitting onto the OEM stud.
  12. It's fine to use a hose or even a pressure washer in your engine bay if you want to, you just need to protect the electrics and anything else you don't want getting wet (e.g. induction kit air filter).
  13. Other than Toyota/Lexus, try places like CheapToyotaParts or even ask at a motor factors. You would think that for grommets/bushes it wouldn't be too hard to get third-party versions of them.
  14. I don't know for sure, but if I was putting a hose in my engine bay, even under low pressure, I would want to protect my electrics. It's not as if the engine bay usually gets covered in road dirt, especially at the top, so I can't imagine that much comes in there.
  15. Hmm, interesting. Do folks reckon that Toyota/Lexus is a good place to get an IS200 checked and possibly re-gassed ? £135 sounds well over the top though, I imagine Toyota would be cheaper.
  16. At least if you buy Stav's engine, you know its history and the fact that it's been looked after properly, unlike buying an "unknown" engine off eBay. ok, so Stav's is an engine that's been running with a charger, but personally I think I'd still feel more comfortable with that as opposed to an eBay engine.
  17. How fast are you going when you start losing the back end ?
  18. additional box of tricks? how you get them? Another LOC member, Fargo, makes them and sells them on eBay from time to time. Someone else posted up some details of how to make your own solution, in the thread here.
  19. You could cover any electrical bits with cling film, that will protect them if you're going to use a hose in there.
