  1. On the dash ? That's all in Wozza's walkthrough :winky:
  2. I'm pretty sure that's what it is, yes.
  3. If you PM me your email address, I'll send you DJ Wozza's guide to removing your head unit. Also check out this thread on how to modify the Autoleads fascia adapter to make it blend in with the OEM plastics better. Checkout the audio/video forums for lots of threads about folks working on their ICE systems :winky:
  4. Great work Chris ! Did you use your usual tyre foamer on the plastics in the engine bay ? What about the metal in the engine bay, did you just give that a good wash ?
  5. 990,054 (you can always go back and edit your previous postings to correct mistakes :winky: )
  6. You might want to test it on a small (unnoticeable) part of the worktop first, e.g. a bit underneath if there is one, just to double-check it won't react with the worktop surface itself.
  7. Don't worry mate, just bide your time and you'll probably find that an even better car will crop up soon :winky:
  8. If you want to check for sure, the amp (if it's there) is behind the glove box, against the passenger side wing. But I'm pretty sure that being an S model it won't have one.
  9. Have you tried something like white spirit ?
  10. If you've got an S model then you don't have a separate amp, so you don't need an amp bypass cable. But you do still need an adapter cable to be able to plug the standard head unit ISO wiring into the Lexus wiring. Looks like you've bought the right thing, that's not an amp bypass cable, it is indeed the ISO adapter cable.
  11. Glad it went well (except for the key), welcome to the WIM'd club ! :D
  12. If the "TRC OFF" light on the dash isn't coming on, then there might be a problem with the switch. Does the switch illuminate when you turn on your lights ? It should do, and if it doesn't that might indicate the switch isn't connected properly. Another possibility though, is that there's a problem with the car and the "TRC OFF" light was flashing to indicate a fault, and someone has removed the "TRC OFF" bulb to stop this happening !
  13. There's a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for this issue here, although you might not have the correct equipment to follow all of it. This is part of the online technical workshop manual.
  14. Have you tried swapping other coil packs from other cyinders into cylinder 2 to see if the fault stays with cylinder 2 ? If it does then at least you know it's not the coil packs. Yes, Denso SK20R11 are the OEM spark plugs, that's right.
  15. The FIA have confirmed that the new system for determining the world champion will be deferred till 2010 ! Plenty of time to argue about that some more and maybe come up with something better.
  16. You sure your Mum doesn't fancy a trip out to see a bunch of nice cars ?
  17. The big question is, who's going to be the first to spot a Lex on there. Or even better, one of our own Lexes ?
  18. Looks like there might be a change of plan about the new scoring system ! Story here.
  19. According to the official spec sheets on the online workshop manual, the amount of oil actually varies according to model year, no idea why ! It also depends whether you change the oil filter or not. For example, for manual transmission, it's 4.2l for 1999 models if you change the oil filter. But in 2002 this changes to 3.8l !
  20. They're the ones that a guy on here was trying to promote a while back. Looks like they're very similar to the HSDs, wonder if they are in fact the same thing ?
  21. I would have thought the dealers should be able to get the earlier handbooks too, although I could be wrong. Have you tried phoning another dealer to see if they give you the same story ?
  22. So how easily did you fit the new filter on ? What did you need to do it, any kind of adaptor ?
  23. Try some tar remover, e.g. the Autoglym stuff from Halfords.
