  1. Most websites put something like "E &OE", "Errors and Omissions Excepted", giving them a get-out if they make a pricing error. Can't see anything like that on there though, so not sure whether that means they're legally obliged to sell at that price.
  2. Pretty sure that a trader (as opposed to a private seller) is legally obliged to give you some sort of warranty. I would be wary of any seller where it doesn't "feel" right and just walk away. Don't worry, there are loads of used IS200s out there, and it's a buyer's market, so you'll find an even better one soon. Make sure you check whether the cam belt has been changed on any car, the interval is 6 years or 6,000 miles. The service book will say 10 years/10,000 miles but Lexus changed that. There might be a sticker on the engine saying when it's been changed, or you can see if there's a receipt, or you can get someone to take off the cam belt cover and see how new/used the belt looks.
  3. I don't remember there being a clip there on my car either (1999). Just follow the other steps and you'll probably be ok.
  4. Ooh, there's gonna be some interest in that ! :D
  5. Bad luck mate. It's horrible when you get all excited about getting something that you've been looking for, then your hopes are dashed at the last minute. I'm sure you'll find another one before too long though.
  6. ok, sounds like exactly the same problem we had. I think all you need to do is earth the appropriate wire. The wires would have been labelled on the Panasonic harness, which it sounds like you don't have. I can't remember what colour the appropriate wire was, sorry. I'm sure that someone else will be able to though. It may well be possible to download the instructions for your head unit online, I haven't got time to search right now because I have to go out, but it might be worth having a look on Panasonic's website for them.
  7. Ah ok, are you trying to use this harness to connect into the OEM wiring ? Does your IS200 have a separate amp (behind the glovebox on the left on RHD cars), is it an S model ? If you don't have a separate amp then what you really need is a Toyota ISO adapter off eBay (the MR2 one will do), and that should connect straight in without having to match individual wires up. If you do have a separate amp, then you'll need an amp bypass lead off eBay. Have you got instructions for the Panasonic head unit ? Did it not come with its own harness ? Was this a brand new unit ?
  8. I can't really see what Lexus would be able to do that Charlesworth can't.
  9. There's a handy guide on things to look for in the Knowledge Base, here. I can't really give you any price advice, but remember it's a buyer's market at the moment, so have a good look around, there are loads of used cars out there. Good luck !
  10. Do the instructions say that it needs connecting to the handbrake wire ? If so, all you need to do is connect it to earth, you don't have to bother connecting it to the handbrake itself. If you take off the gear trim you can connect it to one of the bolts under there, that's what I did. Although re-reading your question, are you asking which wire in the Panasonic loom needs earthing ? On the unit that I was connecting up, it was labelled "side brake". The Panasonic instructions should make it clear.
  11. HIDs are a great mod ! :D If it was me, I think I'd pay slightly more and go for the kits that Aztec posted up as opposed to my link, they've got the nice slim ballasts (even easier to position in the car - space is a bit tight on the driver's side).
  12. A PM is a private message, like an email but sent to the other user's account on the forums (not posted in public on the forums). Put your mouse pointer over a user's name to the left of their posting, then click and you should get a menu. One of the options will be "Send Message", which will let you send the user a PM :winky:
  13. This is the kind of conversion kit you can get off eBay, 9006 is the bulb type that you want for the dipped beams. That's not exactly the one that I've got, but there are loads on eBay.
  14. Yes, I think it's 13mm border for plates bought (not cars registered) before 2001, and 11mm border on later plates (e.g. ones you buy now). So you can chop the plate down legally as long as you still keep to those character sizes, spacing, and border size.
  15. No, if he bought the kit off Markus, then the responsibility is all Markus's, it's nothing to do with Dave. When you buy something, even if it's over the phone, you enter a contract with the seller. If the seller was Markus then Markus has the responsibility, even if Dave shipped it. The key test is probably who asi paid his money to - if it was to Markus then Markus needs to sort things out for him (quite possibly involving the help of Dave, if Dave was Markus's supplier).
  16. Yes, you can get HID kits which retrofit very easily onto non-projector IS200 headlamp units. I've got HIDs too. The law about these is a grey area, especially when fitting onto existing cars (as opposed to new cars, which need headlamp washers and self-levelling on the headlamps to have HIDs). Some later IS200s/IS300s have OEM HIDs, but they don't have projector headlamps either.
  17. More pics from when it was a bit darker outside :
  18. Why does it have an HKS FCD instead of the TTE black box ? Not that that's a problem really, since the FCD seems to be more reliable.
  19. Where did you say that there was nothing missing ? You said they were the older design of pipes, I don't recall you saying that it was in fact complete, is that what you're saying now ?
  20. ok, if you got it from Markus then you should be going back to Markus, it's up to Markus as to how he managed to obtain it. It's not really down to Dave to sort it out directly if you bought it from Markus. Markus needs to sort it out for you. Though of course, he himself might want to talk to Dave about it. If Markus told you it was a new kit then it seems that you have not received what you were told. It also seems like it is not a complete kit, whether it was supposed to be used or new.
  21. Where are the bits of silicone piping and the cable clips ? Were you definitely sold this as a new kit ? Or was it a used one that Dave managed to get hold of and sold on to you ?
  22. Are you asking for a complete induction kit or just a bit of pipework ?
  23. I would have thought it would be pretty obvious if the items are just dusty from laying on shelves, or have been used in a car (e.g. bits stuck in the intercooler, oily marks, bits inside the airbox, etc)
