  1. Something must be drawing the power. Can you measure the current drain with a multimeter when the ignition is off to see what is happening ?
  2. ^^^^^^^^ Yep, that's saved me a few times now !
  3. It's funny you mention the weight thing, earlier on I was thinking that I was sure I had read somewhere that the weights/fuel loads would be published. I had a look around and all I could find, however, was a mention by James Allen that the FIA might bring that in. I can't see anything to see that they are going to do it, although I could of course just have missed it.
  4. One of the best things about The Apprentice is seeing just how badly they can screw up the most simple-seeming business tasks. They'll have to go some though, to get a funnier moment than this one : Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  5. Poking around via Google, I found the following two articles/threads on the subject : This one, which involves a dyno test on a Nissan 350Z. This one, which after a very positive magazine article, also has some follow-up responses providing an opposite view, some of which are specific to the IS200.
  6. This article seems to imply that BMW will race with KERS on Heidfeld's car, but not on Kubica's. After their severe lack of testing, surely Brawn won't be ready with KERS, will they ?
  7. Found this article, which seems to confirm that Ferrari and Renault are going to race with KERS this weekend. As for the others it seems unclear.
  8. Yeah, I'd love to see that sort of thing. BMW seem to be the only team who have really finished developing their system properly, but then it was still unclear whether they're going to run it. I do hope that they tell us before/during the race if anyone is running KERS. Maybe the teams will stay quiet on it and hope to suprise their opponents as they blast past ?!
  9. It's not really a question of whether they do harm though, is it ? More a question of if they do any good ? Looking back through some photos it looks to me like some members here already have similar kits on their cars. Can anyone comment on any differences they noticed after fitting one ?
  10. I hadn't heard of these, and looking at the eBay listing it sounded like a load of nonsense. But are you saying they actually work Stav ? And is that your car in the pic on eBay ?!
  11. Just cough up the money at a dealer's and be done with it ! :D
  12. According to the diagnostic guide here, it is probably worth clearing the codes and see if it comes up again - it might just have been a stray foreign body in the oil that caused a problem but has now safely come to lodge in the oil filter.
  13. Indeed, the qualifying session should be interesting, we'll be able to see the proper pace of all the cars. I can't wait to see KERS in action, if some teams are actually running it (BMW ?) - i.e. the "boost" button in full effect ! :D
  14. That is good news, and the case against the diffusers has been dropped now too so let's just enjoy the racing now! Yeah but I hope it doesn't end up going to court, putting the results of the first few races in question etc, etc.
  15. I can only assume that the guys with the expensive cars only let them have a go after assurances from the BBC's producers that they were insured and if they were damaged the BBC would pay for it ! I also laughed when Anita said at the end that she thinks Sir Alan doesn't like lawyers (just because she's a lawyer). Isn't Margaret (one of his sidekicks) a lawyer ?!
  16. P1349 is a VVTi system malfunction (Bank 1). Does the engine seem/sound rough ?
  17. You shouldn't have had to spend time examining wires on the IS200, there are two different harnesses available from eBay depending on whether you have a separate amp or not, then it's just plug and play ! And the online wiring diagrams do help too. Don't know whether similarly for the GS you can buy ready-made harnesses from eBay.
  18. Hmm, ok thanks, sounds like I'd be better off getting someone to do it for me. Poss TGT since they're just down the road from me.
  19. I just received a set of stainless steel brake lines, that I got off eBay (from here) : These are the "translucent red (NRD)" colour. I've tried looking in the online workshop manual but can't find a section relating to the brake lines, e.g. how to replace them. I'm not sure if I'm up to doing this or not, can anyone give me any hints etc about how hard this might be ? From other postings it sounds like it might not be too tricky, with it being a matter of putting a finger over the end of the hose to stop losing much brake fluid in the process. Should I able able to do this myself ? Without having to bleed the brakes afterwards ?
  20. Latest news is that it looks like Virgin are going to sponsor BrawnGP, should be good news for them !
