  1. Rory - IMHO it looks a lot better if you do reposition the horns, I did a walkthrough on how to do this. I found the horns quite ugly and spoiled the look of the grille to me. Of course, it's all down to personal preference, e.g. some members have painted their horns to make them look smarter and have left them in permission. Alam - no problem whatsoever if you want me to help you with this, I'd be quite happy to do so. PM me if you want to arrange something. The part number for the clips for later cars (e.g. IS300) is 52117-53010, and for very early cars is 90467-08150. A Toyota/Lexus dealer should be able to confirm this. They cost approx 90p each.
  2. Sounds like your M6 bolt for the horn repositioning might have been too long. As for the grille, I wonder if you were trying the wrong way to remove these clips ? You just need to turn then slightly, then they pop up and you pull them straight out. To reattach them you just push them in, shouldn't break at all. The only thing that I found tricky on the sports grille is getting the bottom edge of it to engage properly, since you need to pull up on the existing plastic bits while you slide the grille in at the bottom, and there's not much room to get your hand down there. You can install it without doing this but it won't be attached properly. I can give you a hand if you like, since you're not too far from me. I imagine you can get some replacement clips from Toyota/Lexus.
  3. Have you tried Toyota/Lexus for a price for the TTE Sport Cross springs ? I paid just £131 (after Gold discount) for some TTE springs for the regular saloon, less than Eibach seem to charge for the same thing. Often people assume Lexus will be more expensive, but sometimes they're the cheapest option !
  4. Yes, very easy to fit, you just need to insert something thin (e.g. credit card) underneath the existing washer jet and it pops off. The only thing you need to watch is that you don't let the hose disappear back into the bonnet when you remove the old jet, because it's double-skinned so will be hard to get out again ! The new washer jet just snaps on, easy.
  5. Hopefully there isn't a leak there and the corrosion was caused some other way. But if it is a leaking windscreen, then judging by other threads on this it seems like removing it and re-sealing it is the only sure way to fix it.
  6. If I was buying replacement pads, I wouldn't get the OEM ones due to the amount of dust they produce, I'm sure some aftermarket ones would be a lot better in that regard (and brake just as well).
  7. Toyota should be able to look up the part number you need, I don't understand why they're having a problem just because it's an IS300 :duh: You could always try phoning a different Toyota and get the part number from them.
  8. For info (in case you try Googling), the other material on the half-leather interior is Ecsaine.
  9. There are tons of oven shelves on eBay, a *lot* less than £25 each !
  10. You don't really need to open it up, just hammer a large nail through it where the platters will be. More than one nail if you enjoy it ! :D
  11. I don't think the Series 1 had VVT-i. My '96 Sport didn't anyway. That is correct, no VVT-i on the Mk1's Cool, thanks :)
  12. Don't know Davros, but looking at the part diagrams here and here they seem to be awfully similar, looks like the casing is the same part. You would have thought they'd put something on it to say, but who knows, maybe it was only a sticker at the factory which could have come off ?
  13. Yeah that's something I learned from this forum. There's a label at the base of the seat belts (both, I think), saying when the seat belts were made. That's likely to be pretty close to the date when your car was built. Yeah don't worry I'll be telling them ! Not yet. Waiting for my Plus Gas to arrive, to help me loosen the existing connectors. And I was also waiting to check if the connectors were the right type for the car or not, which they do seem to be. So I hope to get it done soon.
  14. I may well be wrong, but just as with the 1G-FE, although the 2JZ-GE engine is non-interference, doesn't the addition of VVT-i on the GS300 make it interference ?
  15. Looks good with the sport grille. You might want to consider repositioning the horns, which are a lot more visible once you have the sport grille on, it's very very easy and there's a walkthrough on how to do it here.
  16. I think almost all Sports had the LSD. Not sure why a few didn't. You can easily check if you have an open or LSD via the VIN plate on the back of the engine bay (on the bulkhead). Info courtesy of Carles :
  17. Those are actually pretty expensive. The Hotchkis ones here are a lot cheaper and are rated very highly by those that have them. I don't know what it's like for Greece, but unfortunately the weak £/$ and the very high shipping costs make these sort of things extremely expensive to import at the moment.
  18. Is it turning over ok ? I hope it's not a cam belt failure !
  19. I think that it's already marked on the underside as to where the holes would be, but perhaps someone will be able to confirm ?
  20. Great news that it's sorted Patrik, well done ! I must say that I'm quite amused as well that it seems you're human after all. Everything else on your car normally puts most of us to shame, but your engine bay is a mess ! :P Just teasing of course :winky:
  21. I could be wrong, but I think it's a lot more likely that the first one you installed was just pointing in a slightly different direction. Bear in mind that when you plug the HID "bulb" in, then it's pointing in a specific direction based on how it was attached to the bulb-holder at the factory. The direction that all the light goes in is really down to the reflector, but the bulb itself will point in a direction based on the bulb-holder.
  22. With hindsight that's exactly what I should have done too Stav. Mine was very tight and I tried putting the old bolt from the other side in and out of it a couple of times to clean it up, but then I just put the new bolt and bracket it. It probably would have been ok without the extra strain of the strut pushing a bit on it.
  23. You need this stuff shipped to Israel, right ? You mentioned Holland but I'm assuming this is only that's where the car came from originally, pretty much any European Toyota/Lexus dealer should be able to get all the stuff for your very easily. All you need is someone who is prepared to send them to Israel. Lexus Birmingham (in England) sell various items on eBay, their shop is here. So they are at least prepared to send things within the UK, I don't know about internationally but you could ask them. Their phone number in the UK is +44 121 377 4200, ask for the parts department. Or their email is lexus-birmingham@lexus.co.uk An alternative is to ask on the Euro LOC forums about places in other European countries. Let us know how you get on.
