  1. I seem to remember some LOC members saying that Halfords had tried to mix up some paint for them but got it totally wrong :duh: You can buy touch-up kits from Lexus/Toyota, that would be a much safer bet. Or check out something like this.
  2. Let me know if a mini-meet could be on the cars when you pick it up, I live pretty close to TGT !
  3. I have a spare amp which I removed from my car. Mine is an early model (1999, was matched to a head unit ending in 02), and when there was a recent thread about a similar problem (was it Asi ?) I wondered out loud whether the amps have to match up to the head units. He seemed to find another amp worked ok, I don't know whether that was luck or whether any amp will work.
  4. You could try a motor factors and see if they have any ADL Blueprint parts for those items, since if they do they'd probably be cheaper than the OEM items. You will probably find radiator supply websites that will do radiators for just about any car. Lexus/Toyota can be cheaper than you think, it's always worth checking their prices, especially if you join LOC as a Gold member which usually gives you a discount on parts. I got my water pump from CheapToyotaParts, but there was only a really small saving compared to Lexus/Toyota (with Gold discount).
  5. 6K will be even brighter than 8K :winky: 4.5K brighter still. Any of the kits on eBay should be fine, personally I suspect these kits are much of a muchness. Although Aztec did find some branded Philips kits, which I imagine would be good quality. Just look for a kit with the right bulbs, i.e. HB4/9006 for the dipped beams.
  6. The Sport grille comes pre-painted, but there is limited stock so there's a chance they might not have it in your colour. Ask and see. If not, then you can get one in another colour and get it resprayed.
  7. Checking the fuses would be a good start. Don't forget that there are fuses in the engine bay, as well as in the passenger and driver's side footwells. There are also some big fuses in the engine bay fuse box, as well as the small "blade" fuses, it would be worth checking them all.
  8. A Lexus/Toyota dealer should be able to help you get a manual etc. When you say "log book", do you mean the service book ? I presume you've got the V5 registration document (which sometimes gets called "log book") ?
  9. You can check it, but you'll have to get to it first. See the procedures here, and specifically step 8 for checking the relay.
  10. Part number for the fog lamp relay is either 90987-02012 or 90987-02020, your Lexus/Toyota dealer should be able to help you figure out which is right for your car. See parts diagram below for the exact location of the relay, it's at the back of the passenger side fuse box, labelled as (7) in the picture :
  11. See here for the thread that discusses fitting a strut for the boot lid.
  12. Apparently Mclaren are running with a new "interim" diffuser already in China, and Renault have also brought a new one with them (but not run with it yet).
  13. Yeldarb's engine swap is the same engine as that from the MR2 Turbo that you mention (3S-GTE). Stav is going for a 1G-GTE swap (also turbo).
  14. Early OEM grille (four bars, chrome) : Sport grille : Later OEM grille (three bars, black) : LE grille : Earlier OEM grille vs later OEM grille :
  15. There are a few different grilles. The Sport one was an accessory option, as Chris said. But there was a very slight different in the factory grille between earlier cars and later models. There was a special grille also for the late "LE" models, with horizontal bars across it. Billnick, what year is your car ? All later models came with a standard chromed rear pipe, which often can look very dirty but polishrd up nice and shiny. I think that some early Sports did come with an add-on chrome piece, which I think you're referring to.
  16. Housing for the water pump ? If you're already changing the pump itself, I wonder if he means the bypass pipe/O-rings, which is prone to leaking.
  17. The OEM plugs should be changed at 60K miles. You could always try taking one out to have a look at it, if you want to see what sort of condition they're in.
  18. Agreed. I've seen some stories about other teams now "starting" work on the diffusers, but I don't believe a word of it, I'm sure they've already been working on it, as you say.
  19. Sorry to hear about that Chris, must be really annoying. If you can get a witness then I'm sure you could easily win a case at the Small Claims Court to cover fixing the damage.
  20. I had my boiler serviced yesterday, and the British Gas engineer recommended installing a MagnaClean. He didn't seem pushy and in fact he said I could probably get it installed cheaper by someone other than British Gas, but it would help prolong the life of my boiler by helping to collect the sludge. He reckoned it would be around £300 installed all-in, because there wasn't really room to install it by my boiler, so it would need to go in my airing cupboard with the pipes being moved around a bit to get it in the right place (otherwise it would be cheaper to install). Does anyone have any experience with these ? If it really would help my boiler out, given how expensive a new boiler can be, then I'd consider it.
  21. It might take a while for the others to catch up though, e.g. the diffuser even affects the design/shape of the gearbox, and don't forget the lack of testing between races !
  22. Probably wheel balancing. Have the wheels been refurbished ? When I bought my IS200, the dealer had refurbed the wheels, but hadn't bothered getting the wheels balanced so it shook like a train at high speeds ! It would be well worth considering a trip to WIM to get your geometry setup properly, it will improve handling and eliminate any premature tyre wear issues. The factory geometry setup on the IS200 is very poor.
  23. Lexus Birmingham (lexusbirm) are selling the side skirts on eBay for £299 at the moment (£250 starting price for auction).
