  1. You don't need to remove the card to get that pull handle off, no. It's the other way around, i.e. you'll need to remove that if you want to get the door card off. There are guidelines from the manufacturers of Ecsaine (the fabric on the upper part of the door cards if it's not leather) on how to clean the fabric, here.
  2. I am not sure about the timing belt intervals for the IS300 (i.e. whether it's still the original 100K or was brought down to 60K miles like the IS200), but this service schedule might help (bear in mind the figures at the top are km, not miles) :
  3. Every 20K miles, I believe (i.e. every other service).
  4. Bearing in mind that WIM are the absolute experts in this (IMHO anyway), and since they charge around £100, then £120 seems a little steep to me if that's purely for a full geometry setup.
  5. Yep, the ignition ring also has a bulb in, which is orange in the OEM setup. That might also have been changed for an LED on your car.
  6. See this diagram for location of filler plug and drain plug on the diff. See this diagram for jacking/axle stand locations.

That sounds like a good plan Rob, I'd be up for that. I only need a small bit really.
  8. As far as I understand, the PS3 will sense the connection and sync up accordingly. The PS3 can do 720p at 50Hz, but I think what's happening is that because your TV is apparently only accepting 60Hz for 720p, then that's what the PS3 decides to output. On a different TV you would probably find your PS3 syncing to 50Hz (since that's more usual for the UK, even on HD). Sorry, I realise this doesn't help with your main question though ...

I am thinking of buying a roll of this stuff Rob (I was going to go for the general purpose 4611). I will let you know if I do manage to get some.
  10. Try these threads for discussions on LEDs in the dash (bearing in mind that they're talking about the IS200 though do I don't know if the Altezza might need a different number of LEDs ?) : Thread 1 Thread 2 Thread 3 Thread 4
  11. The needles are painted red, so they'll glow red or at least reddish whatever colour LEDs you have in there. So yes, you can have a blue dial with a red needle still. It does sound like you've got a very poor LED conversion in there. A dealer won't really be in the best place to help you if you want to put more LEDs in there. Best to check out some of the past threads on this sort of thing (search for "leds") and see what sort of LEDs other members have used in their dash. Trouble is, the a/c controls are a lot more tricky to put in there (and therefore to replace), you might have to get it out and see exactly what they've done there. Sorry but I didn't understand your question about the URL link ?
  12. Yes, that's the part labelled as "22271 (No. 2)" on this diagram, I presume that's what you're after :
  13. On the IS200 the needles glow red, yes. The dash is lit up from behind, i.e. the light comes through the numbers/symbols etc. The OEM setup is with little bulbs that have orange "caps" on them. Quite a few people end up replacing these with LEDs, although depending on what type of LEDs you use this can either work very well or pretty badly (e.g. which way the LEDs project their light). All the gauges on an IS200 light up perfectly with the OEM setup (yes, the same sort of intensity), and should do so still using the right sort of LEDs as a replacement. I can't imagine that the Altezza would be any different. I wonder if someone has just done a very bad job trying to convert your dash to LEDs ? Here's a pic where you can see the IS200 dash lit up, with the OEM lights : And here's an IS200 dash with blue LEDs :
  14. Great news. Shame about the courtesy car though !
  15. Post up some pics of your car when you get it, so that we can all see ! :D
  16. Are you just wondering how bright it would be ? I presume that the Tezza dash (is yours an RS200 ?) is the same as the IS200s, in that it's an amber colour, same as on the A/C controls. There are lots of pics around of IS200 dashes, probably less of Tezzas though. Are you saying that the LEDs (I presume they're LEDs ?) are too dim, or that some have failed ?
  17. The PS3 does 50Hz as well, doesn't it ?
  18. Pulling up the front part of the switch raises the front part of the seat. To raise the height of the seat itself, i.e. the back of the cushion, you need to pull up on the rear part of the switch. At least, that's how it is on my 1999 model, don't know if that changed at all.
  19. There was a discussion about the 3D font in this thread fairly recently. The conclusion seemed to be that it was legal, even though it doesn't seem to be specifically stated in the various PDFs on the subject on government websites.
  20. Japarts do some coil packs which are a lot cheaper than those from Lexus. On sale here too from Japarts on eBay for £60.
  21. Ah ok, that would explain it. Yes, if I was you I would clear the codes, drive it for a bit and then read the codes again.
  22. only just got code reader today, missed the delivery on saturday so tried changing the plugs anyway? The reason for my question is that I was wondering if perhaps a coil pack had gone, hence the rough engine, but then something has gone wrong in changing the plugs (maybe even the wrong type of plugs ?) and that has produced even more fault codes ?
  23. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I wasn't suggesting the tip cleaner as a general method for tinning the iron all the time, but as a solution to a tip that's become oxidised.
