  1. No, it's Kodiak Sky, which is sort of a medium metallic grey that can look slightly purplish too. You're thinking of Damietta Quartz, I suspect.
  2. Ah lol I knew someone had tried them before. But if they were no good before why will they be any different this time ?
  3. I needed a new pollen filter, so got quotes from various places to see how they varied. This isn't meant to be an exhaustive list of places to check, e.g. I didn't try my local motor factors for a Blueprint part. Here are the prices that I found (all parts are for the OEM Toyota part unless otherwise specified) : Japarts - £28.12 (not sure if this was a Toyota part, I don't think it was) CheapToyotaParts - £28.00 delivered LexusPartsDirect - £19.08 delivered Lexus/Toyota - £18.02 including LOC Gold discount Needless to say, I bought it from Lexus/Toyota ! If I had been making a special trip to pick the item up, then LexusPartsDirect would have been the cheapest given the cost of the petrol. But don't forget to check Lexus/Toyota for a price when you want something, sometimes they're more expensive but sometimes they're the cheapest ! :D
  4. Aisin is part of the Toyota Group, yes, Toyota owns part of the company.
  5. The information that I could find from various websites (which of course may or may not be correct) is that the 1MZ-FE is fundamentally a non-interference engine. However, I don't know about the effect of VVT-i on it. For example, the 1G-FE engine that the IS200 uses is fundamentally non-interference but the VVT-i turns it into an interference engine ! I think it's highly like that the same is true on the RX300, and I certainly wouldn't take a chance on it myself.
  6. SXE10 is the model code for the Altezza with the 4-cylinder 3S-GE engine. GXE10 is for the Altezza or IS200 with the 6-cylinder 1G-FE engine.
  7. Awesome ! :D Very pleased for you Yeldarb, I'm sure the wait is going to be well worth it !
  8. I think I recognise those alloys ! :winky: :D They look great, suit your car well. Have you not got the centre caps in ?
  9. Front is standard size. If you want a rear one that fills the space at the back (as I did), then just use a company that will make custom-sized plates, like DemonPlates, and give them the measurements that you want.
  10. The E-mark (assuming it's genuine and they haven't just faked it) is one thing, but it still doesn't necessarily mean they'll pass the UK MoT. I too seem to remember someone here buying some of these and finding the beam was wrong for the UK.
  11. My guess is that it was a Tezza if it was a yellow one.
  12. They come up from time to time on eBay. Yes, they're 17" and came either in silver or anthracite. One problem to be aware of is the centre caps are very hard to find and quite expensive from Toyota/Lexus, so if you do find a set of the wheels check whether the centre caps are included.
  13. Total waste of money. See this thread for some more comments.
  14. Hi Roger, Thanks for this. When I download it it only goes upto page 62!! Rich. I think he was referring to the page numbers on the scanned document, not the PDF page numbers (mine only goes up to 62 too). It seems to be on page 291 though, not 295 (page 37 in the PDF).
  15. Any views on this ? Ormi, you got an official IS200 service schedule at your work which says something about the fuel filter(s) ? And the clutch fluid ? The sheet I've got says "Fuel filter and in-tank filter". I've found diagrams showing the in-tank filter, but I can't see anything about any other fuel filter, is there another one somewhere, like near the engine ?
  16. You would think that they would make RHD ones that would work for Japan, there must be a big market there ? Or maybe the Japanese equivalent of the MoT doesn't test the beam direction ? Anyway, I think you'd be taking a pretty big risk if you bought them. Might be fine but I wouldn't be suprised if they were as Stav said, i.e. pointing in the wrong direction.
  17. Hmm, that's a weird diagram. It seems to be showing two different amp bypass cables (which might be why the guy is asking the question), and according to the diagram then my 1999 car should have needed the one on the left, but it didn't, it needed the one on the right of the two. Thing is though, I've seen eBay listings with that same Autoleads part number, some saying it's for non-amplified systems and some saying it's for amplified systems. Hence my distrust.
  18. All he really needs to know is whether you've got an amp or not !
  19. ok, now I've got my bonnet struts installed, how do I remove the OEM prop ? The instructions say to "rotate" it (but not in which direction) and to "pull gently". Can't get it out pulling gently. Does just the rod itself come out or does the plastic insert that it slots into in the bonnet come out with it ? Loving the struts ! :D
  20. He's in Australia though Aaron, don't know if it's as easy over there or not.
  21. Was hoping to try and make this, but if it's on the 16th that's the same day as Japfest, so I won't be able to make it to this one.
  22. Have you only just bought this ? Or have you had it for a while ? If you've only just got it then maybe the engine could have been swapped or rebuilt a while back ? No point changing the engine for the sake of it if it's still running fine ! Is it giving you any trouble ?
  23. Do you mean 290,000 ? If so then wow, that's a lot ! Are you sure it's the original engine ?
