Early cars, before the 2001 update, have a separate button to operate the headlight washers. Post-update, this was changed to make them operate whenever the lights are on and the windscreen washers are used, I believe.
Thanks guys. Isn't there something about the pulley having 6 grooves but the belt only having 5, and you needing to sit the belt on the right grooves ? Can't remember if this is the front 5 grooves or the rear-most 5.
I don't know for sure since I haven't tried it, but the parts diagram for the mirror (below) shows the outer housing as a separate piece, so I'm guessing that it is possible.
The "800" number in something like 5PK800 refers to the number of teeth in the belt, doesn't it ? i.e. the belt size ?
If that's right, then presumably something with slightly more or slightly less teeth (e.g. 803/790) will still be ok but will just need to be adjusted slightly differently to make it fit (e.g. 803 is longer so the pulley will have to be moved outwards slightly to make it tight enough, and the reverse of that for a smaller belt).
Is that right or have I missed something ?
I'm no expert on this but I would have thought the diff itself would fit. But if the final drive is designed for an RS200 (i.e. different engine to the IS200) then I don't know what this would mean for connecting it to the IS200, i.e. whether the gearing would be too high/too low/etc
It sounds like the engine check light is coming on (does it look sort of like an engine in outline ?). If so, then you really need to gets the code read to see what it means. You can get a garage to do this, although OBDII readers are available on eBay for less than £30 (and even less if you have a laptop you can use for it).
If you get error codes and post them up then folks here can try and help you with what it means.
Does the engine rev normally ? i.e. do the revs go up ok when you're not in gear ? And then if you're in gear do the revs climb a lot but you just don't really go very far ? If so then that does sound like the clutch, and you need to be careful because you could be damaging the flywheel by continuing to drive it like that.
I don't think the clutch would normally turn on lights on the dashboard though, although I've not had my clutch go.
Which yellow light it is that's on, is it the engine check light ? Maybe the clutch is dodgy but there's another problem there with the engine ?
I was looking around at prices of DOT 5.1 brake fluid. 1L is £11.49 from Halfords. But Toyota sell 1L for £10.26, and my local dealer gave me a price of £8.72 after LOC Gold discount, bargain ! :D
Edit - just checked my local motor factors and they're a similar price to Halfords.
6500K is actually less bright than 4300. 8000K is less brighter still. The "K" is not brightness, it's colour temperature, and as the number goes up the brightness actually goes down, because the light is getting more and more blue/purple.
For the best brightness you want to go for 4300K.
I like having both too. The a/c certainly gets a lot more use, but it's nice to be able to actually open up the sunroof and let the sun in too on some occasions.
That would only have covered, what, the toe angles on the front wheels ? A full geometry setup is a competely different thing, as kam05 said. You just can't compare the two.
If I was you I'd also post on somewhere like DetailingWorld, preferably with pictures. There will be loads of people on there, including professional detailers, who will have seen this sort of thing before.
