  1. There are anti-squeal shims in with the pads on the IS200 and sometimes the garage throws them away with the old pads, not realising they're important.
  2. Argh, the topic should of course be "New Wheel Nuts"
  3. Can anyone recommend a specific place that sells decent wheel nuts ? I'm contemplating getting some new ones for my IS200. I realise there are lots on eBay but wonder how long some of them stay in good condition, e.g. if they go rusty after a couple of months. I also realise I need to get the right type of nuts, e.g. the right sort of seating etc. Any experience/recommendations ?
  4. Also it says it's from a manual, but looks like an auto one to me ?
  5. Is your oil level ok ? As Ormi said you must get this checked out ASAP, because it could be something that might cause a big bill, like major engine damage.
  6. That's for an RS200 though, it won't work on an IS200 will it ?
  7. I thought there were some sort of bolts/screws too, but I've never seen the fitting kit myself.
  8. I just went and checked and my car has two different lights. The low level one is the one with the wavy (i.e. fluid) line underneath it, I think (the orange one).
  9. I'd say Denso IK20 spark plugs (higher performance but shorter life than the OEM plugs, and actually cheaper than them too) but I don't see any reason to move away from the standard Toyota oil filter. As for oil, that's a whole subject in itself, but fully synthetic would be best. As for the viscosity, well that's where the debate comes in. I've got 5W30.
  10. Which oil light ? There's one for low oil level and another for low oil pressure. Either way you should check the oil level, but also make sure you know which light it is.
  11. How do they know if you've got an LSD though (assuming you haven't taken it to Lexus), since it's not easy to tell ? Do they work it out from the VIN or something ? Just that I haven't been asked.
  12. The exact capacity depends on model year and transmission type. It's 4.1 litres for auto and 4.2 for manual for 00 models, assuming you're changing the filter too (which is of course highly recommended).
  13. Did you scroll down the diagram ? It's here (scroll down), and the one in the pic looks like "Type B" 52114-53010. A dealer should be able to confirm.
  14. Stav's car on the dyno : Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  15. Yeah I think the ECU will re-learn anyway. Just that if you reset it then it's starting from scratch, so is likely to learn more quickly, as you say.
  16. There was also a GS (Mk 1 I think ?) doing some runs, although not someone from the club stand.
  17. Yep, saw you sugarytea, did you enjoy the runs ?
  18. ok, what you need is the little electronic pulsing unit. They work whenever you press the brakes though, not just when you press them hard. Then you need LEDs to replace the regular bulbs (since regular bulbs don't work with the pulsing unit). Then if you want your fogs to work as brake lights you need to follow Ormi's walkthrough that he's posted up in the Workshop section. The pulsing unit is here.
  19. Your speedo reading will go about 5% out from what it is now.
  20. It doesn't sound right to me at all that your voltage reading fluctuates, this sounds like there is too much drain for what's being provided. Or is this sort of thing normal for people who install subs and so forth ? Still sounds like a voltage drop problem to me.
  21. Watch out for the usual issue of the missing fitting kit.
  22. You could could try JEM , or there is ToyotaGT a bit further out west.
  23. Wow, what a brilliant day ! :D Big thanks to Johnboy for organising it. The weather got better as the day went on. Good turnout from the club, great to chat to everyone (sorry if I missed you though !). And OMG, that jet car, that was one of the most amazing things ever !
