  1. The change appears to have been in 2000, so your car is after the change for brake line connectors :winky:
  2. I'm sure you realise I'm only nit-picking Chris, what you can knock up relatively quickly as a first attempt is probably something I'd take ages to make and even then not do it nearly so well !
  3. Is that all it says on the plug ? I can't find "G1" as a type of NGK plug. The NGK plugs that are usually used as OEM are IFR6A11.
  4. That's what I was thinking too Stav, surely it's the one on the right that's broken/melted ? As for what's on the tip though, might that not be affected by coil pack problems, i.e. if you're getting misfires due to coil pack malfunction, then surely you might get the plug coated with something that isn't usually there ? So it might mask the problem ? But plugs in cylinders that are working correctly should show the state of how the engine is running ?
  5. Yep, it's still broadband that you've got. That basically refers to the high-speed link, as opposed to using something like dial-up. My question was about how the broadband is delivered, i.e. cable or ADSL. I've got cable, but you've clearly got ADSL, which as you probably know is a high-speed method of using your phone line. I'm probably stating the obvious but when using ADSL you need to have filters installed on all the phone points in your house so that phones and other similar devices (e.g. fax machines, burglar alarms) work properly and don't interfere with the broadband signals on the phone line. If the problem always happens at a certain time of night I would try going to somewhere like Speedtest.net and running tests there when it's working ok, and also when it's not, and seeing what the difference is in terms of the download/upload speeds and the latency too. Your ADSL line is shared with lots of other people in the surrounding area, meaning that if loads of people go on and put lots of traffic on it, then it might slow everyone down. The line will have plenty of capacity for you on your own, and for a few people, but not for loads and loads of simultaneous users. If it is just "contention", then unfortunately there will be nothing you can do about it. It doesn't sound like it's likely to be a filter problem given it's only happening at certain times of day. In theory there could be a technical problem with your line and even the socket itself, but again if it only happens in the evening that sounds less likely. The evening is also of course likely to be the peak time for people using it. Do you know if your neighbours have similar problems ? Your wireless laptop could be having interference problems with other wireless networks in the area, which is where changing channels on the wireless router could come in. But that won't affect/help the PS3 I'm afraid.
  6. Yay ! Looks like I'll be coming down in a Toyota Yaris rather than my Lex Still looking forward to it though ! :D
  7. ok, let me try and work this out myself but *please* don't rely on my calculation unless someone else (who understands tyre sizes better than me) confirms ! The offset of those eBay wheels should fit, yes. The standard tyre size on the OEM 17" wheels is 215/45-17. However, this is for 7" wheels and those eBay wheels are 8" in width, so you're going to need some wider tyres for them not to be "stretched". For 8" wheels I think that the normal tyre width is 235. Using the calculator here it's showing that 235/40 would be the way to go. The 40 is the profile of the tyre, i.e. the sidewall height is 40% of the width of the tyre. It's important to pick the right sort of profile so that the diameter of the tyre is right and therefore that your speedo is still accurate. So I think that what you need is 235/40R17. But as I said, I'd appreciate someone who understands this better confirming whether what I've said is correct or not !
  8. What type of spark plugs were the old ones, OEM (e.g. Denso/NGK) ? Do you know how long they'd been in the car ?
  9. It might be that some more rounded edges will transform it. Right now it's a squarish box but with a round cap, and I think that doesn't look quite right. I'm sure you've probably got much better ideas of what you can do to it compared to me though !
  10. May just be because of something that's been disturbed when they've been checking everything, e.g bushes on the suspension or ARBs.
  11. Yeah I think the brake fluid cover is a bit too boxy at the moment, but I'm sure you'll sort that out ! The power steering one does look very nice indeed. Min and max windows would be great.
  12. If the wheels are all same width then you can just put identical tyres onto them all, yes.
  13. At a Halfords superstore they should have a jack laying around that they can try out on the car, to try and show whether it will lift high enough or not. On the axle stands, I was recommended not to go for the traditional type in that set, with the pin, but for the ratchet type like this, due to them been more sturdy.
  14. Great job Keith, both for the fitting and for the walkthough !
  15. Woo-hoo ! Great news, fingers crossed for Monday ! :D
  16. I *think* that the above all applies to 16/17/18" ok. I'm not sure about 19 though, that may be more tricky, though I think it's not relevant in your case. Hopefully someone else can confirm.
  17. Have you replaced the plugs with ones that are recommended for use with the charger ? I think it's IK22s that people tend to use, but I'm sure someone with a charger will be able to confirm.
  18. Really hope that you haven't had a bit of the spark plug drop into the engine Asi, I think Lexeyes was asking for someone to delete the posting he'd made because he'd already edited it since he thought it was not relevant.
  19. Just dropped the car off at the body shop today. Can't bear to think of them cutting panels off etc Their estimate is to not have it done till the 18th, so looks like I'll be driving down to Japfest in this : It's brand new but pretty horrible to drive, I must say. One interesting feature is the Eco thing where if you stop in traffic then it turns off the engine and starts it again when you dip the clutch to engage gear and move off again, quite nice. Still, at least it's transport though !
  20. Yep, the crossover splits the signal into the high-frequency parts for the tweeter, and the lower frequencies for the woofer.
  21. Johnboy is on the case :winky:
  22. Is the problem just with your PS3 Chris ? That's not using wireless, so it doesn't matter what channel you're on etc. Is your wireless laptop actually having a problem ? Having the speed drop from 54Mbps to 48Mbps isn't necessarily a problem on its own, though if it starts freezing up or dropping out then it obviously is. I'm slightly confused though, you say you're using Virgin but you're using ADSL ? So it's not Virgin cable broadband then. There are some things you can check to see how well the ADSL itself is working. Also filters can go faulty and cause problems.
