  1. A Toyota dealer should be able to get the parts for you, they have a parts database that they can look it up on. You can look up the part numbers yourself if you go here and put in the details of your car.
  2. Looking at it some more, IFR6A11 doesn't seem to be in NGK's catalogue any longer.
  3. There are a few listing on ebay for IFR6T11, are these any different to IFR6A11? Good question. I was looking into this, because Asi had IFR6T11 plugs in his car and he had the end of one of them melt/break off. It's definitely IFR6A11 on Lexus's data sheets, but NGK's own website does show IFR6T11 for the IS200. So I don't know if perhaps this is a later model which superseded the IFR6A11 ? Bit worrying what happened to Asi's though
  4. It says they're Tein, but the picture shows red springs. I thought Tein stuff was usually green, not sure about springs though
  5. Those aren't the long-life ones though Asi, those need changing at 30K miles. Although they're the ones that I use myself (IK20).
  6. If it's any consolation, even though the Lexus data sheets say that the NGK plug to use is IFR6A11, looking on NGK's website they actually list IFR6T11. I can't imagine Lexus's data sheet is wrong on this. I guess it's possible NGK's site is wrong, or perhaps this is a later plug which does the same job ?
  7. The OEM long-life plugs are either Denso SK20R11, or NGK IFR6A11. You should be able to find some on eBay. It used to work out cheaper to get them from the US, even given the shipping, but given current exchange rates I'm not sure that's any longer true.
  8. I agree Parthiban, I think that KERS is helping the show. Eddie Jordan keeps going on about how much he doesn't like it and how we haven't had a KERS-equipped winner. As you say though, that's because none of the fast cars have KERS on ! We'd soon have a KERS winner if Brawn or Red Bull had it ! Think the BBC is doing a really good job so far with their coverage. DC is more interesting than I thought he'd be. But please, can we get rid of Eddie Jordan, he really gets on my nerves !
  9. I'm sure Johnboy will tell us when he's got some news. He's probably still trying to get hold of the Ace events people :winky:
  10. Aargh, sorry to hear the bad news about your engine Asi :(
  11. The "boost" buttons are to do with the cars that have KERS systems. This is the Kinetic Energy Recovery System, basically a device that stores energy (typically a battery, but could be a flywheel) when braking. This energy can be used in the race via a button the steering wheel to provide about 80 bhp extra for up to 1.6 seconds a lap. It was up to the teams if they wanted to run with KERS or not. Ferrari, McLaren, Renault and BMW have it, the others don't, and even those four don't run it all the time. The problem with KERS is that it adds weight, and although this extra weight can be taken out of the ballast of the car, so the car overall doesn't weigh extra, it means that with less ballast there is less flexibility to distribute the weight exactly where you want it (i.e. for optimum handling). The original idea was for it to help improve overtaking.
  12. Wasn't it something to do with the fact they all have been asked to fill up with the amount they put into an computer and not to short change it coz they have a chance to get in front. Something to do with safety Yeah that's what Ted Kravitz were saying. In theory they could whip off the fuel connector early, but they've been told by the FIA not to do that (presumably for safety reasons ?), and the amount of fuel has been pre-programmed.
  13. You said earlier you'd taken it into the house, I presume you disconnected the wiring, could it be it's not connected properly ? As Stav says the LEDs have to be the right way round, but obviously they should work one way. You've got the same sort of LED as the bulb, i.e. a wedge connector ? My car is in the body shop, so I can't check, but I think the boot light should work all the time the boot is open ?
  14. No, I don't think there's a fuse just for the aerial either, I checked when you originally posted. Unless your head unit has something internal on this ? I'm afraid I don't really see an easy way of testing this without another head unit to try plugging in to see if that works any differently :( Can you maybe rig up a different FM aerial that you plug in and put outside the car somewhere just as a test ?
  15. On the parts diagrams there are a few different part numbers for the main engine bay loom, depending on exact model, and it costs about £1,500-£1,700 from Toyota/Lexus So if buying from eBay you'd need to be very careful to get the right one. And even then you're getting a used one and you don't know how it was removed. Sorry to sound negative :(
  16. I was looking at the pictures and trying to see what I could figure out from that. It looks to me like it's burned the hottest where the custom engine cover (rising sun design) was. What was that made of Chris ? That's of course not saying that's where the fire started, it may well have been somewhere else but perhaps that's the bit that burned the most, and it seems to be mostly missing - or was there a whole load of it left but you've removed it now ?
  17. This last pic seems very slightly odd to me. I can imagine if they were showing a "before and after" shot, but it seems to be a pic of an early, stripped 4-bar grille (fitted to the car), and a later OEM 3-bar grille.
  18. Looks great, good work Johnboy ! :D
  19. Good luck Asi, fingers crossed that compression is fine !
  20. There's only one part number for it for the UK.
  21. Oh ***** that's worse than I was hoping/expecting it to look. I really hope I'm wrong but I think there's going to be a huge amount of work (and cost) to repair that. Sounds like your insurance company is the same as many in that whilst they cover the car with the mods, they are not covering them "like for like" i.e. don't cover the cost of replacing the mods, is that right ? :( Really feel for you. Wish I could do something to help
  22. The Z-edition isn't really that rare, is it ? Certainly not compared to the 280T.
  23. Try and see if someone can recommend a mobile scratch repairer in your area who does a decent job. They should be able to make it good as new. The touch-up pen isn't really going to help.
