  1. This one. Although you've posted in the "right" place for audio problems like this, I wonder how often GS300 owners come here as opposed to IS200 folks. So might be worth posting in the GS300 section too.
  2. That's showing a problem in the magnetic clutch circuit on the throttle body. Nothing to do with your drivetrain clutch replacement. I suspect that if you press the Snow mode button nothing will change when you're driving, because the car is working on manual throttle rather than electronic. There's a guide on how to check it out here. In the worst case, you might be looking at a new throttle control motor. Check there's nothing fouling the throttle cable that could be causing a problem.
  3. The OEM plugs are normally changed after 6 years or 60K miles, whichever comes first. So you may well be on the original plugs and with them getting on a bit now. The plugs are easy to change yourself, I did a walkthrough on it in the Workshop section, I recommend the Denso IK20 plugs.
  4. Which IS200 wheels do you have, the five-spoke 17" wheels ? Assuming that's what you have then yes, 205/40/17 will go on them.
  5. Welcome. Might be worth changing the plugs if they haven't been done. Do you know when they were last changed ? Perhaps they've never been changed and they're the original plugs ? I don't quite get the bit about the machine gun noise when the battery died though. That sounds like you're describing the starter motor going without turning over the engine, but if the battery died it would just turn over very slowly if at all. I'm probably misunderstanding though.
  6. Might be worth posting this in the GS300 forum as well to get a bigger chance of the GS300 folks seeing it ? The GS300 has separate amps I think (one at the front, one at the back ?). Have you checked the fuses, e.g. in case the amps are on separate fuses to the head unit ?
  7. They were all waiting on the right !
  8. Just for everyone's info (e.g. someone finding this thread in the future because they've got similar problems), I plugged in my OBDII reader into faizy's car and indeed there were no codes. There was water around the fuse box in the passenger's footwell, so this looks like a problem of water coming through a leaky windscreen. The windscreen looks extremely badly sealed at the bottom corner on the driver's side and I'm sure water's coming in through there. Further to add to this, as faizy said, the previous owner seems to have bypassed the auto lights sensor (something else that often goes wrong with water ingress) with a wire into the engine bay fuse box, adding to the suspicion of electrical problems ! So as faizy said, he really needs to get the windscreen replaced/sealed properly, and then see if there are ongoing electrical problems then sort them out.
  9. ok, so like I said, you might have two completely different problems that you're looking at as if they're the same. You must have a different problem now if it's not misfiring but cutting out. But if the cutting out problem was happening before you cleaned them, that can't be the source of the problem. Was there any cutting out (forget the misfiring) before you had the cam belt change ? I'm still suspicious something is wrong with the cam belt change. Or did the cutting out problem start with the plug change ?
  10. Are you sure that the earlier problems weren't genuine coil pack failures though ? Maybe you really did need to swap the coil packs/plugs earlier, but now you've got another different problem, albeit one with similar symptoms ? Did you get codes read before ? Was the car cutting out completely before or just not working on all cylinders ? When it cuts out at the moment, it just dies completely, yes ?
  11. Ah ok, thanks Stav, I couldn't understand exactly where this "injection" was going on.
  12. I thought the wire was usually just black. But yes, there is a wire that goes off in the same direction as the aerial itself, which feeds the power to the aerial amplifier. So you need to give this wire power from your head unit, yes.
  13. ok, just did a bit of Googling and I see that it's not an intercooler spray. Can't say I understand what it does though :duh:
  14. Do you mean a water spray for the intercooler ?
  15. Welcome ! Were you one of the guys there when a load of us all coincidentally arrived back at the stand at a similar time (around 3pm ? I'm not sure of the time though) ? Or did you miss us completely ? Sorry that you didn't get to speak to more of us, I arrived with edeath but it took us most of the day to get to bump into any other LOC members too ! Keep an eye out for more meets where there might be more of a chance to chat, e.g. when there are more people there and always people at the club/stand, or at a meet where there isn't other stuff going on and so people will be staying near their cars. Dave, whose car has the Brembos, is user w481ggc on here, look out for his postings, and check out a big thread on his car here :)
  16. Have you checked the fuses ? e.g. the "TV" fuse is one of the ones used for the satnav, as well as the Radio No 2 fuse.
  17. ok, well I'm not suprised. Basically there's a switch which is operated when the boot opens, which is linked to the alarm and also making the courtesy light come on. I bet the "door open" indicator light on the dash doesn't light up when the boot is open either (it should do). You might want to verify that the alarm is working properly, e.g. open one of the doors with the key when the alarm is set, I imagine that will set the alarm off ok. So there's a problem with the switch in the boot. It's hard to tell from the diagrams but I think it's behind the area of the number plate, does anyone else know for sure ?
  18. The Denso plugs are the other OEM plugs. The standard ones are SK20R11, but I (and many others here) use IK20R11, which are the high-performance variant. They don't last as long but they cost less than the SK20s too. I'm a bit concerned as to whether something wasn't done correctly in the cam belt change which could be causing some sort of problems.
  19. If you lock the car as normal, and hence set the alarm, if you then unlock (and open) the boot with a key, does it set the alarm off ? (it should do)
  20. There's not a lot of point changing the plugs *if* they're the correct ones and are fairly new though.
  21. It's probably the latch. The power only comes on when the switch in the boot latch decides that the boot is open. So it is probably a problem there, i.e. the boot is open but the switch doesn't think it is, so there is no power, so the light doesn't come on. I can't quite work out from the various diagrams exactly where the switch is though, does anyone know for sure ?
  22. I'm in Camberley and I'll drive over to you to plug in my OBDII reader if you want.
