  1. 2.5 VVT-i single turbo sounds good to me. 279lb/ft torque (more than the V8) at just 2400 rpm !
  2. Wonder what questions we can ask him ? Is it made of platinum ? :duh:
  3. I don't think you're going to be able to feel any difference with strut braces outside of a race track. But you will notice a huge difference with uprated ARBs, they're the best mod on your list there. As for lowering springs vs coilovers, well there are pros and cons. Lowering springs will be cheaper, but then will still be using your existing shocks (which maybe worn, don't know how many miles/kms they've done). With coilovers you'll be able to adjust ride height which you can't with the springs. With coilovers many let you adjust damping too, which again you can't with the standard springs/shocks.
  4. How about your spark plugs, have they been changed at all ? Might be worth doing those at the same time (I recommend Denso IK20). Again, Opie Oils are doing some good deals on those this weekend (must remember to ask them for my commission )
  5. I don't think the fuel filter needs changing on the IS200, in the UK at least. I would recommend a K&N filter for the air filter, it lasts a lot longer, is more free-breathing and may help mpg slightly. Engine oil is an area where I think people will have their own favourites. I'm soon going to get my oil changed and will be putting 5W30 fully synthetic into it. You can use semi-synth too. Opie Oils do some good deals on oils and give a LOC discount. They also have some special offers for this weekend only, see the Buy/Sell forum and this thread.
  6. the beans engine would also benifit from the hair dryer mod!! OMG I think we're really on to something here ! :D
  7. This could be as revolutionary an idea as the "Beans" engine !
  8. Now there's an idea, thanks Ormi ! :D *runs out to shed and starts getting out bits of wire and soldering iron ... *
  9. Will the laptop already boot off a CD/DVD ? Or do you need to change the BIOS settings to let it do that ? If I was you I'd think about using a utility to securely delete the data off the hard drive (i.e. a utility that overwrites it all), which typically will run by booting off a CD. You could then just sell it with a blank hard drive and don't need to remove it or get into the BIOS, hopefully.
  10. Hotchkis ARBs are supposed to be very good, I'm sure you'll be well-pleased with them. As Asi said though, customs might well sting you.
  11. Found one in stock at Camerley Auto Factors in their main warehouse over near me in Farnborough. £53.49 inc VAT. I could always pick it up for you (they assure me it's there, though there's just one) and meet you part-way somewhere ?
  12. New front drop links are £56 from Lexus, rears are a bit less. As I said, you can get them from motor factors for less though.
  13. Yeah that's the classic problem :( The small consolation is that it isn't anything you've done wrong, just a design flaw in the part.
  14. Sounds like you've got the classic seized drop link problem. Is the allen key head just spinning now ? I think you're just going to have to drill it out and/or cut off the drop link, and get a new one. You can get ones from motor factors that are cheaper than the Lexus ones.
  15. They look like the pic below, from the previous Group Buy thread here. The problem is finding someone to make them and getting the design in the first place (the right shape and folds etc). I'm not sure that LOC will be authorising another Group Buy via the method we used last time.
  16. I didn't ask, no. But I'm not bothered really, because I'll have all the receipts to show what's been bought for the car, e.g. the spark plugs etc.
  17. Jon Stevens in the Monster qualified 15th and finished 10th overall. After this second round he's in 16th place in the championship, with 8 points. I think the guy he's up against in the video is the guy who won overall and is in 1st place in the championship, just to put things in perspective !
  18. Action from Lydden Hill, May 2009. The Monster, driven by Jon Stevens goes in three rounds starting from around 3:50. Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  19. There's a guide to fitting ARBs here, it doesn't look too hard. The only think that I think could be tricky is if your drop links are seized and therefore need cutting off. If your front ones are fine then hopefully the rear ones will be too. If you've only got an uprated front ARB at the moment isn't the handling a bit weird ?
  20. This normally happens for me after I've done a search on Google that has linked to a LOC topic, which I've clicked on and then it's changed my display just like you describe.
