  1. I must say that the manifold looks like a work of art at first hand. As Stav said it came from SPC Horsham. I think it's the same one as being sold here.
  2. If your screws have all gone/snapped Ed (I did point out your missing screw at Japshow ), then maybe it would be best if someone else (Asi ?) removes one of their supercharger's screws and measures it - i.e. length of thread, type of head, width of thread (and also takes a photo) and then you can look for a suitable replacement ?
  3. I had a Toyota Yaris recently (while my Lex was in the body shop). It had a stop/start feature to automatically stop and restart the engine when you were stationary. It worked well, but did make me wonder about the life of the starter motor.
  4. Aftermarket replacements (e.g. ADL Blueprint) are available for the IS200's idler pulley, they may well do the same for LS400, I don't know, you coudl try asking at your local motor factors.
  5. Try a breaker's. You'll generally find IS200s being broken on eBay, then you can contact the seller and ask them for a quote for one of those.
  6. I see you've added the Skyline option now ! Which one are you considering ? R32/33/34 ? I've got a soft spot for Skylines. I like the R33 myself.
  7. Don't try cleaning the spark plugs ! At least, not with a metal brush, it'll ruin them. I presume you haven't got the engine check light coming on, on the dash, or any other warning lights ? Did the problem start happening after the service or before ? If it happened after servicing I would suspect something hasn't been put back properly. Check there aren't any hoses/cables that look like they're not plugged in.
  8. How can you accidentally put diesel in a petrol car ? Isn't the petrol filler neck narrow so you can't get the diesel nozzle in ? I thought you could only accidentally do it the other way round, i.e. petrol in a diesel.
  9. I can't figure out some of the instructions for installing the TRD front and rear lip spoilers. I'm not actually planning to install them quite yet, I need to get them painted first, but just making sure I know what's involved. Most of it is pretty straightforward, but it's the bits involving the supplied grey "protector" tape that have me puzzled. I've scanned up a couple of pages of the instructions to show what I mean. I don't really understand what step 2 is supposed to be about, referring to applying "protective film". Given that step 3 is talking about painting, is step 2 talking about putting something on the area where the grey tape will go, just to ensure that it doesn't get covered with paint, i.e. to help the tape stick properly ? Step 4 really has me baffled. It says "Apply primer, wait until primer is dried up and apply double adhesive tape. Remove protective layer of tape and install protecter. Cut Protecter to correct length". What "primer" is it talking about ? And what "double adhesive tape" ? The supplied grey protector strip only has a sticky side on one side, not both. So I am guessing that this step is saying you have to use your own double-sided tape to stick down the supplied grey strip. This would leave the sticky side of the grey strip to stick against the bumper when you install the lip, as shown in step 13 (which talks about removing the protective side of the tape). This seems kinda weird to me. Why isn't the grey protective strip supplied with two sticky sides ? It seems bizzare that you're expected to supply your own tape. Or am I missing something ? I guess a lot of folks here may well have installed TRD lips that didn't come with the full fitting kit and perhaps have got hold of some double-sided sealant strip which didn't have this "problem" ? Help ! :duh:
  10. Changing the spark plugs is easy, there's a walkthrough with pictures here.
  11. I don't have an IS220/250, but I know from the IS200 that LED sidelights don't actually create any light at all if you get individual LEDs, just a tiny dot of light. If you want to be seen with just sidelights on then you'll need a powerful multi-LED sort of thing at the least, if you go down the LED route.
  12. Ouch ! Wonder what that hit, look at the crash bar ! If it's 2002 it should be the DVD system, shouldn't it ? I don't think you can tell from a pic like that with the housing closed. Also it doesn't have a two-tone dash, so it looks like it's post-2001-update, which again should mean it's got the DVD system I think.
  13. TRD ones aren't hard to come by though, you can get them new from Lexus/Toyota. Don't know if they still sell the TTE rear skirt too, I haven't tried asking.
  14. ^^^^ sounds good to me. I've used a piece of software that I got off a magazine cover disc, but there are loads out there and killdisc sounds like it should be just the job. Can you boot off CDs ok ?
  15. Think he was talking about Chris's bonnet :)
  16. It's got a charger and intercooler, so I don't think the air filter in the OEM airbox is actually doing anything, other than acting as a cover.
  17. It's not mine though ! It's TheDon's.
  18. I'm not quite clear what you're saying. When you drive with very low pads there shouldn't be a noise all the time, just when you brake, they'll be more noisy than usual.
  19. Well done, good work ! :D Where's the pics ? :P
  20. It's another member who now has a carbon bonnet :winky:
  21. Check the "Dome" fuse in the passenger side fusebox in the footwell.
  22. Do the other interior lights still work if you switch them on, e.g. vanity mirror lights, map light ?
