  1. I wondered if yours was starting (at rest) higher than it should be, because that would explain why it's sweeping too far. On previous car's I've had the wiper arm was just pushed onto a splined attachment from the wiper motor, so you could pull it off, rotate it slightly, and then push it on into a new (higher/lower) position. I wonder if yours would be better if you repositioned it so that it sits lower ?
  2. My driver's side wiper blade is approximately 21 3/4 inches long. If it helps, here are pics of my driver's side wiper at the top of its travel, and at rest.
  3. So is the problem how wide the driver's side wiper arm sweeps, up to the driver's side A-pillar ?
  4. Usually the instructions tell you to connect it to the handbrake circuit, which is grounded, i.e. it only lets you play DVDs when it senses a ground. So if you attach it to a permanent ground (e.g. the bolts into the chassis underneath the gear surround) then it'll play DVDs all the time.
  5. Sorry if this is a stupid suggestion, but it's not just that the wiper blades are too long, is it ? What are the measurements of your blades now ? I can measure my own blades/arms if it helps at all.
  6. If you visit a specialist who has a decent tyre balancing machine (e.g. WIM) then they will be able to tell if the wheel/tyre is flat-spotted, as well as balancing it. The decent machines even tell the operator exactly where on the wheel to put the weight, whereas a lot of them just tell them how much to add (but not where). I had an awful vibration problem when I first bought my IS200, and WIM sorted me out a treat.
  7. See this thread for details of how to make the fascia kit blend in well with the dash. As Stav said, you should get basic instructions on how to put it together when you get the kit. Did you get a fascia kit and no instructions ? If so I would go back to the seller on that. In the worst case I'm sure some people could scan the instructions for you.
  8. Your dealer is talking nonsense. A decent amp bypass cable will work fine. You need to make sure you connect up the power feed to the OEM aerial amplifier (a wire that runs alongside the aerial cable) to your new head unit to make sure the aerial amp is powered, or you will get very poor (if any) radio reception. Where did you get the cable, eBay ?
  9. OMG that is brilliant, I laughed till I cried !
  10. Don't worry about it mate, no-one's going to be tut-tutting at your car if it's not immaculate, if that's what you're thinking. My alloys aren't perfect any more either
  11. When I installed a new head unit in my IS200 relatively recently, I was amazed too by the fact that original CDs don't seem to have text info on them :duh:
  12. ^^^^^ Indeed, if/when you get them working don't leave them turned on for more than a few seconds in those tubes, they'll melt !
  13. Surely it's small enough to be easy to put in the post ?
  14. I don't think he wants the big rears though.
  15. Sorry if this is a silly question, but have you tried Lexus/Toyota ? Is it too expensive from there ?
  16. It looks right. Do the OEM headlights still work if you plug them back in ? Just checking that the fuse hasn't blown. The connector that I would try swapping around if the red/black one going into the ballast, try it in both ways. Have you tried both ballasts and both bulbs ? i.e. if you've just tried that one set, then try plugging in the bulb from the other set into that first ballast. If that doesn't work, then swap the ballast for the second one and again try both bulbs with it.
  17. I tried Googling too. Found a load of Mitsubishi Evo owners who have tried them and seem to like them.
  18. Quite a few people seem to have Exedy clutches, try doing a search for "Exedy".
  19. I could be wrong, but isn't there more than one Exedy clutch for the IS200 ? Which one are you looking at ?
  20. Have you tried both ballasts and both bulbs ? I think you'd have to be incredibly unlucky not to have at least one working bulb and one working ballast. So you've unplugged the original halogen bulb, taken that connector out of it, and plugged it into a ballast ? And then you've connected the ballast up to the HID bulb. That doesn't work, even when you try the connections around the opposite way ? Was it the HB4/9006 type that you bought ?
  21. According to the government information website : I wouldn't have thought a quarterlight or similar would count as the "windscreen".
  22. Oops sorry I got confused with the head size of the bolt
