  1. Check it out here guys :winky:
  2. Sunburn in Scotland ? C'mon now guys, at least come up with a believeable story about the show !
  3. You really need the code(s) read. If it's still running ok then it is hopefully nothing serious. There are ways to read the codes without a reader, i.e. here, section 2b, but I have a reader and can meet you part-way if you fancy a drive !
  4. The other thing that you need to check is the "offset" of the wheel. This will usually be specified as a number preceded by "ET", e.g. "ET40", "ET50". See here for an explanation of why this is important. Although what that thread doesn't mention is that if you get the offset wrong, then the tyres may either stick out of the arch too far and/or rub the outer or inner of the arch.
  5. I tried one of my own "sub" (valet) keys on my own car, and sure enough it won't manually unlock the boot. However, I assume you were referring to the remote unlocking of the boot.
  6. Moffet's wheels ? They look like the regular OEM wheels where he (or someone else) has painted the centres black. Aztecbandit1 did something similar to his wheels fairly recently (then sold them on eBay I think ?). Have a search for his threads and you'll find what he did. You could probably pay a wheel refurbishment company to do this for you, if you don't fancy tackling it yourself.
  7. What exactly happened, what are the symptoms ? I don't recall reading that it's common for auto gearboxes to go wrong, far from it. Was it Lexus/Toyota who diagnosed the problem or someone else ? I would have thought that finding gearbox from a breaker's would be the best option if it really is dead.
  8. I'm not sure that what is supposed to be with them, but did the eBay ad make it clear that even though they were brand new the fitting kits were missing ? I'd expect no fitting kit with used skirts, but of a listing described the items as brand new, then I'd expect the fitting kits unless the listing made it clear otherwise.
  9. Just reading this again, and I thought this bit was odd too, particularly about the boot (assuming I'm reading it correctly). So none of the keys will manually unlock the boot ? Or are you just referring to the remote opening of the boot via the key button ? I've never tried it (I'll have to check) but I presume that the "sub" (valet) keys don't physically work on the boot, just like they don't work on the glovebox. If that's the case then that sounds like you don't have a master key, which will be another problem because you won't be able to program keys yourself (e.g. to make the remote locking/unlocking work), without the help of an auto locksmith or Toyota/Lexus. As I said I need to check this on my own car though, unless someone else beats me to it with the facts on this.
  10. Part number is here (as for the other bits too), and is 08154-53810. I need to get my front and rear skirts painted and fitted. I got some quotes for that from Lexus but it was very expensive. Will try some local body shops for painting, and probably fit it myself.
  11. The TRD front and side skirts are still available from Lexus/Toyota, yes. That's the TTE rear skirt, don't know if it's available still but the TRD one certainly is. I don't know exactly how much Lexus would quote you to supply and fit, but it won't be cheap, probably around £1K ?
  12. Thinking about this some more, I would hazard a guess that the reason the Security light is off is because the ignition barrel is in the ACC position. I am guessing that it only operates in the LOCK position. So the immobiliser is probably not in operation and the car would probably start if you bypassed the ignition and hot-wired it.
  13. Easy enough to add LED strips to an IS200 to give the look of those running lights, see my walkthrough on it. Personally I think they look better than the Audis, because at night it looks like more of a single bright strip rather than individual lights.
  14. Just tried it in my car just to check, and sure enough, I can't remove the key in the ACC position, only in LOCK. Your ignition barrel is definitely broken to some degree. I think that stuck barrels can be a problem, and are referenced in the knowledge base, here. Also there's a guide to swapping the barrel here in the Workshop section. I would guess that you can get a new barrel which matches to the existing keys, though this is only a guess and I don't know for sure. As well as your Lexus/Toyota dealer you could also try enquiring with an auto locksmith. EDIT - according to Rob's Workshop walkthrough it looks like my guess is correct.
  15. Lexus probably won't be interested if you've got problems with home-burned discs. See if you can reproduce the problem with commercial CDs, and take it into Lexus. Even if you can't reproduce the problem, take it in to Lexus anyway and tell them, to give you a chance of them being sympathetic if you get the problem shortly after the warranty expires. Does the warranty say anything about the stereo ? Hopefully it's not an exclusion.
  16. If it was your tracking/geometry it would be happening while driving along normally (I presume it's fine then ?) and not just while braking. Sounds like a braking problem, probably a sticky caliper IMHO. Have a look and see if one wheel has more brake dust than on the other side, and if the brake caliper is a lot hotter (careful not to burn your hand !).
  17. Toyota/Lexus dealers have them. If you join LOC as a Gold member, most dealers will give you a discount.
  18. So there are already templates for where the holes should go ? Cool ! :D
  19. I'm not sure that those come in the correct fitment for the IS200.
  20. You can't turn the key in the ignition ? That is nothing to do with the immobiliser, sounds like the ignition barrel has broken. Normally the key can't be removed in the ACC position, can it ? I think you've got a mechanical problem rather than an electronic one. I suspect that the lack of blinking of the Security light is a side effect of the problem with the ignition barrel.
