  1. I don't know if topping them up will make the noise will go away, but it can't hurt, and it might help. So was it the radiator before that you looked in and that looked dry ? That's not normal and you should get that topped up ASAP (though with the proper coolant, as I said). I don't really know about the belts. Can't see any obvious cracks on them from the photos, but it's difficult to tell. They also need to be tight enough but I would expect loose belts to make a squealing noise rather than the noise that you seem to have. It could be the water pump making that noise, but again it's hard to tell from a distance.
  2. Was it inside the radiator that you looked ? That should be full always. The expansion tank is where you need to look, which is behind the radiator, and has a clear window showing the level. There's a black plastic cap on top of it. Top that up to full (using the proper Toyota long-life coolant, not just water), and top up your power steering fluid too.
  3. I see (hear) what you mean. Does it make any difference if you turn the a/c on or off ? Is the power steering fluid topped up ok ? How about the coolant level ?
  4. Come on guys, several people said they were interested in coming, but Johnboy needs your money or we won't be able to get a club stand !
  5. Hey, not a bad courtesy car. That sounds like a load of :tsktsk: about your insurance though, what a joke, if you're unlucky enough to have someone crash into you then you get penalised ? Hope you're going to shop around for renewal quotes.
  6. I wonder if there's a problem with the amp ? You've got a Sport, right, with the separate amp ? I would assume that if the amp isn't working properly then you won't get any sound. Might be worth checking the connections on the amp. You haven't had the windscreen replaced at any point have you ? Just wondering if it's not sealed properly, but then again you're in Greece so will probably not have so many issues with rain water as we may do over here ! :D
  7. Does this only seem to happen overnight/in the morning ? Or does it sometimes happen whilst your driving ? Just wondering if it could be temperature-related.
  8. ok, well I'm still inclined to think that the air mix servo motor has a problem. But I'm only guessing here, based on how all the components seem to fit together. There's no immediately obvious reason to me as to why even if that is not working properly, that it should have only cold air on one side, but I can't come up with anything better. I already supplied a link on how to troubleshoot that part, but as I said, the problem is that you have to take out a lot of the dash to have a look at it.
  9. Yeah the quote was just to spray the lips and no blending etc, Rob. These guys seemed confident that matching was no problem, and I will be getting them to re-confirm this when I get them to do the work.
  10. Interesting info there, k33rjd. That could help to explain why some people have solved the problem by changing shocks, and others have found that hasn't solved it.
  11. No offense taken ! I didn't used to like them but I love them now ! They actually work well if you have LED sidelights, in that LED sidelights don't tend to be very visible and/or work well, so I'm much more visible if I do want to run just with my sidelights on. If I change my mind at some point and don't like them any more, then they'll be very easy to take off. It would be a very boring world if we all liked the same things ! :D

    Vvti Cover

I was looking on eBay UK. There's this one, but it includes the air box cover as well and is pretty expensive (£60). You could always contact them and make them an offer just for the VVT-i cover, given that there aren't any bids for it. If you like I could check how much my local Toyota/Lexus dealer will sell me one for, but I think it'll be around £50 or so as Kam05 said, and then there will be shipping costs to Australia. The other thing to do is to check breakers. There are plenty of IS200s being broken on eBay UK, and I imagine that some will have an intact VVT-i cover. You may well find though that most breakers know that this is a part which people do want some time and will pay a reasonable amount for.
  13. Put your mouse over each of the thumbnail pictures in the album in turn, and copy the contents of the "IMG code" field that pops up in the box (right-click and "Copy" if you're running Windows). Then paste that code straight into your posting and the pics will appear.
  14. Don't upload the photos to the LOC site itself, just host them on Photobucket and then post up the link to those photos here. Forgive me if I've misunderstood though. You can copy and paste the code with the "img" tags straight from Photobucket.
  15. Upload them to a photo hosting website such as Photobucket (but there are loads of others too). You'll need to create an account there if you don't have one. You'll see that somewhere like Photobucket will automatically generate the "img" tags for you that you need for each photo. Copy and paste these for each photo into your posting. Check it with a preview then post when you're happy with it.
  16. Yeah but somehow I doubt any of them are going to end up alive on a desert island :(
  17. Wow I bet that's going to look amazing when finished ! I'll be at Japshow, so look forward to seeing it then ! Those tyres don't look right to me, they're too narrow. Or is that just my ignorance, is that part of the VIP look ? (sorry that's a real question, I genuinely don't know )
  18. Some of you may already know this, but for those who may not, it's possible to get pretty close to working out the exact month as well as the year of your car's manufacture. There's a label on each seat belt at one end (usually the "long" end just before its attachment point to the car body), which says when the seat belt was made. Of course this assumes that your belts are the original ones, but that seems quite likely unless the car's been in a major accident. On the front belts in my IS200, this just has the year, but on my rear belts it has the month too, saying the belts were made in July 1999. Since my car was registered in September 1999, I now know that it was made some time between July and September 1999 (since it's unlike to have started being made before the seat belts were made). Given it was built in Japan and the time to travel here etc, I imagine it was made primarily in August 1999 ? Just thought I'd pass this on, perhaps not that useful but some might be interested
  19. More great pics, well done guys ! That Zonda sure is ugly. I still wouldn't say no though
  20. I know what you mean. But they're only lip spoilers, it's not like they're painting the bonnet or something that's going to be highly visible.
