  1. How often to people here clean their K&N filters ? I had a look on K&N's website, and here they talk about cleaning it every 50,000 miles, depending on driving conditions (which sounds like quite a long interval to me, I would have thought 20,000 or so might be more sensible ?)
  2. By the way, fuel economy is not one of the IS200's strong points, I'm afraid. Oh, and welcome to LOC :)
  3. Definitely go to WIM, they'll sort out your tyre wear/tracking/geometry problems. If you PM Tony Bones, user wheels-inmotion.co.uk , he'll be able to give you a price. I know they will fit stuff like lowering springs or coilovers, not sure if they will supply those too (you can ask Tony). Prolex supply stuff like this, see here
  4. Worth doing if you're buying from a private seller, but any reputable dealer will do an HPI check themselves for their own benefit, so you can ask to see the certificate and then it won't cost you anything.
  5. There is a fair bit of room near the suspension turrets if your leads will reach that far. There is loads of space on the driver's side, mine is mounted near the headlight on that side, on the roughly-horizontally-flat bit of the engine bay. On the passenger side it's a bit more cramped, mine is on the side of the suspension turret there. I will take and post pictures of my installation in the morning, if someone hasn't already beaten me to it. As has been said, sticky foam pads are great for the job.
  6. Great to hear that you like the new motor. Got any pics ?
  7. It's a buyer's market at the moment, so as others have said, if you had any doubt whatsoever then you were right to walk away.
  8. There's a guide in MS Word format here, don't know if that's the one you meant.
  9. *tumbleweed rolls past* ok, looks like no-one knows. My local Lexus dealer (well, Toyota parts dept actually) is ordering up two more different sets of wheel caps in an attempt to locate the correct ones. I will post if and when I get this sorted.
  10. Just noticed this. Are these still legal (pass MoT), with the pulsing *every* time the brake pedal is pressed ? Won't this annoy people following you in heavy traffic where you keep using the brake ? Also, I've looked at that site before but found the number of different bulbs bewildering. Which ones are the brightest/most suitable, is it the most expensive ones, e.g the ones at the very top of the list with the "3W" LED ?
  11. Interesting stuff, I had always assumed that these pulsing brake lights were illegal, and couldn't understand why people would want to fit them. Now I can see the advantage, and that they're perfectly legal.
  12. Thread now up in the Group Buys forum ;)
  13. Yeah, that's what I meant, it stops the phone side working. Think it's called being "bricked" (to the OP - trying Googling for "bricked iphone").
  14. Yeah, but how much can you adjust them horizontally ? I wouldn't have thought the horizontal adjustment would cater for switching the beams from one side to the other, I would have thought it's more of a fine adjustment. I could be wrong though.
  15. Did you get your geo done by WIM ? Or by someone else ? If it wasn't WIM, did they really do it properly ? Once your geo is set then getting new tyres (of the same size) won't affect it. It should only be if you really whack your wheels on something in the road that it could knock it out, or if you go in for major lowering or other suspension modifications. All you should need with new tyres is wheel balancing. That's my understanding, anyway, I'm sure Tony will be along to correct me if I'm talking rubbish :D
  16. Umm, isn't there going to be a problem, because it depends on the colour temperature of your HIDs ? The OP seems to be asking about factory-fitted HIDs, which are presumably around 4500K, whereas a lot of people go for 6000K after-market HIDs, which will be a different colour ? What colour temp HIDs do these LEDs match ? I've used that same seller before for some different (rear fog) LEDs. Delivery was a bit slow but got the item ok. I've got some different LED sidelights on order myself (although they've been on order for an absolute age), will be interesting to see how they look with my HIDs.
  17. I don't have one, but isn't there a problem whereas as soon as the iPhone tries to download a software update and detects that it has been tampered with, it will disable it, meaning you end up with a non-working phone ?
  18. Glad to hear that you were ok, sorry to hear about the car :(
  19. Search on eBay for "OBD USB", e.g. this one
  20. WIM is Wheels In Motion, a company that are experts in setting up your chassis geometry, amongst other things. They have a setup for the IS200 that fixes a long-standing premature tyre wear problem and improves the handling no end. I don't know any specifics about LS models in that regard, but it sounds like they may be able to help there too. So being "Wim'd" refers to a visit to WIM :winky: Just saw Steve2006's response as I was getting ready to post this.
  21. Please could you tell me where the evidence is for this being a fact ? I really can't see how road surface noise can have anything to do with speed governance, for example the road noise that I hear doesn't have anything to do with the speed that I drive at. Surely road surface noise is only a factor at high speeds, and motorways are actually much safer than roads with lower speed limits, aren't they ?
  22. Those T's & C's seem to state that soliciting isn't allowed. I don't know what's happened in the past, but if a PM is sent to someone offering an item for them to buy (which they hadn't previously posted up as something they wanted), then that would sound like soliciting to me, and hence not allowed.
