  1. That's the thing, please don't bring the Distance Selling Regs into it, it's the wrong items that have been delivered. The Distance Selling Regs aren't so relevant here, that's some extra regs over and above the Sale of Goods Act. The basic Sale of Goods Act is sufficient in this case - the seller has to arrange to send the buyer what he actually asked for. If the seller wants the wrong goods back, then that's secondary, they'll have to arrange for that.
  2. I would suggest *not* doing that since the wrong items have been delivered, it might start looking like he just changed his mind and as you say the company could then ask for the collection charge to be paid for. Make it clear that the wrong items have been delivered, it's not what you asked for, and that the wheels are available for collection when the seller wants to arrange that (at their cost).
  3. It doesn't matter what it says on the invoice, the invoice could be wrong. If you'd asked for 1 wheel and they'd sent you 100 wheels and put 100 on the invoice, that wouldn't make it right. What matters is what you asked for in the first place. If you have a quote from them for 18" wheels then that is very strong evidence for what you asked for. Don't get into sending them back yourself, tell the company to arrange to collect them. As Saraj said, keep evidence of all your contacts or attempted contacts - e.g. leave them a phone message if you can about this (and keep a log), try faxing them, emailing them, write a letter (and send it recorded delivery so you have evidence they received it). Trading Standards will totally back you up.
  4. Kazi said his price was from around three years ago though. It's possible (I'm only speculating) that there are now only a few of these left and they've put the price up to reflect that ? The price of the sport grille seems to have gone up about 33% from what it was a while back (I realise your increase is bigger than that though).
  5. If they've sent you the wrong part, then you have the right to a refund or an exchange for the correct part. You should not have to pay to send the wrong item back, make the company arrange their own collection. Contact Trading Standards if you can't get hold of the company.
  6. The air filter thing is a bit of a non-issue. Rup has already said earlier in this thread that he knows it's not in an ideal location, but he just went with the out-of-the-box kit for warranty reasons and simplicity. There's plenty of opportunity for him later to move it to a better place. As it is, the beast goes rather well even with the filter in the "wrong" place ! :D
  7. If it doesn't hold its charge any more, it shouldn't be a big problem since you can still buy new batteries for the V50 on eBay for a few quid.
  8. Is it just me who thinks that FOC is a bit of an unfortunate abbreviation ?
  9. Thanks guys :) Yeah they plug in just like a regular bulb, only takes a few seconds to swap them over. They're not that bright, but then again sidelights don't really need to be. If I want any decent illuminations I will switch on my headlamps. These are wide-angle LEDs so they don't do too bad a job of partially lighting up the headlamp reflector.
  10. I installed my LED sidelights today. Here's a pic showing one side with the LED, the other with the OEM sidelights. The fact that it's taken in the dark with no flash makes them show up brighter than they really are.
  11. If you want to measure the diameter and depth of the centre hole, then I could check those and see if there's a chance.
  12. There's a thread showing the installation of those plasma dials here
  13. Those silly-looking tiny space-saver wheels/tyres are legal. Do they have an exception for that or actually are there no laws to stop you having different-sized wheels on the same axle ?
  14. Sorry I have no experience of opening up the headlamps myself, but I'm pretty sure there are some threads around here discussing just that (even a YouTube video link as well if I recall correctly ?).
  15. Hope your credit card company can help you out further, fingers crossed that you get a happy ending :)
  16. I would have got a Gold members' discount anyway, but the guy let me have even more off because they were more expensive than the (wrong) ones that I'd originally ordered. Yep, I bought them when I wasn't sure if I preferred them or not. I think I'm going to keep my 5-spoke wheels, and if so then I will sell on the 11-spoke jobs (offering them here first before they go on eBay).
  17. Yep, the McGard ones are excellent. Although it's a bit of a nightmare to find which McGard ones are right ! (I had a separate thread on this)
  18. I'd love some too, and would happily pay for them.
  19. That's the thing that I struggled with when trying to find McGard ones. It's not just the measurement, it's the shape of the end. There is a slight taper on the standard OEM ones, as per (very bad) pic below :
  20. Not sure anyone will be able to say they can definitely go if they don't know when or where it is. But I would certainly like to go and would try and make it if I could.
  21. Yep. They're the same ones pictured in the original posting of this thread. I'm pretty sure the same ones are used on both the silver and anthracite 11-spoke alloys. They don't *quite* fit, as is. In this first photo they look like they fit ok (apologies for poor cameraphone pics) But if you look closely, they're sticking out too far. It *might* be possible to trim back the size of the plastic tabs, I assume that's what's stopping them going right in, but I'm afraid I'm not sure.
  22. *Ahem* Sorry mate :D Yeah, tar remover (e.g. Autoglym) is good at removing remnants of sticky stuff. Or you could try WD40. You mentioned a heat gun, but I wouldn't try anything hotter than a hair dryer if I were you, in case you start melting the plastic.
  23. The all-silver ones (like this but the dark grey is chrome/silver too, with little concentric grooves in, I've seen these ones on some RXs) are cheaper, they list at £9.91 plus VAT each.
  24. Wow didn't realise there would be so much interest ! They are approx 65mm across. The hole in the centre of my 11-spoke alloys (from eBay) is approx 60mm across. The list price of them is £14.16 plus VAT each, but I managed to get that down to £11.04 plus VAT each. Haven't checked if they will fit the 5-spoke alloys yet.
