  1. The trouble is, Lexus might well use the OEM geometry settings, which will mean you still get premature tyre wear and poor handling.
  2. I could be wrong but I think it's Dave original engine still, albeit with a new cylinder head and camshaft/valves now, and also further new internals. I would have thought his older upgraded internals might be available ? But then again there was talk of another test engine, so maybe they're in that one ?
  3. Come on peeps, get your names down and your money to Johnboy (PM him for his PayPal address), surely you don't want to miss Stav vs Yeldarb on the quarter mile ?!
  4. There are a load on eBay. Or you can try somewhere like Machine Mart, who have quite a big range of jacks, including ally ones.
  5. Probably depends on how much its lowered ? I presume you're after a trolley jack, but most should still get under a car that hasn't been totally slammed, if you just want to jack it up from the sides (and not, say, from the middle, which could be trickier to get to). I've just got a Halfords trolley jack and that gets into the sides ok with my TTE lowering springs on. If you have something really low then there are specialised jacks with a low entry point.
  6. Shouldn't this thread really be in the IS200 forum and not the Lounge though ?
  7. It does look like you get quite a lot with it, e.g. all the exhaust bits (is that a sports cat ? I can't work out which bit of the exhaust is shown there) as well as a manifold. Bear in mind that it's a starting price, not a "buy it now" price, but still seems quite a lot of kit. Surely you'd need some electronics to run it though, e.g. an FCD at a minimum but would an FCD be enough or would you need a full piggy-back ECU ?
  8. I believe that Jon Stevens is driving the Monster at the moment.
  9. Think this is supposed to be a thread about supercharged/turbo'd/engine-swapped insurance costs
  10. Japarts are also part of the JEM group, if you didn't know.
  11. They're near Edgware Road so yes, they must be not too far from Lexus there. According to this page, looks like Jemca used to be part of JEM but they sold them off in 2003. So it looks like Jemca were actually a spin-off from JEM.
  12. Well, to me, that picture shows it "not fitting". But each to their own, as Gord said, fair play to you if you like it looking like that. As I am fond of saying, it would be a boring world if we all liked the same things !
  13. Great news, congratulations ! And how is she ?
  14. Got my car serviced at JEM in NW London today, full service (100K miles, though my car has only done 60K). I supplied the oils and oil filter. Got off to a bit of a bad start when JEM realised they hadn't thought this through properly, since I'd supplied new oil for the diff and gearbox, and they weren't sure how they could get those in from my supplied bottles rather than their ready-filled pump drums (?!). They showed me the diff filler and I could see what they meant, although I thought they might have some simple device for that sort of thing. But we sorted that out and agreed that I could pay half the usual price for their oils. Other than that it was fine though. They have a nice waiting area upstairs where you can watch the cars being serviced, with tea/coffee, a TV and various papers etc. They obviously have a lot of Japanese customers because there were more Japanese newspapers and magazines than English ones ! I could have had a courtesy car, or my car collected and delivered, but I chose to wait. They were busy working on various cars, mainly Japanese, and a GS300 went up onto the ramps after my IS200 was finished. They were quite complementary about how clean the underneath of my car is. That's the second time a garage has commented on that, maybe I should start showing my car off upside down Cost was £184 (for their "C" service, without an air filter change or spark plug change) plus £15 for the gearbox/diff oil.
  15. But PayPal have already sorted out your refund, so you were clearly eligible for a refund, therefore PayPal aren't saying you have to return it. If you're still not sure, then phone up PayPal and say that you're going to tell the seller he can arrange collection himself, and see what they say.
  16. What off-set you getting i also think 225-35-18 is to thin on a 9" wheel, but you may like the look :D I'm not sure that 225 will fit on a 9" wheel at all, the tables I've looked at suggest that 235 is the absolute minimum, and even that will be stretched. 245 or 255 would be the norm for that size of wheel.
  17. Just tell him that the item is available for him to arrange collection, and leave it to him. If he does come back to you and tell you he's picking it up then that's fine, you can package it up for him but he'll have to be the one arranging it all (and paying for it). As you said he's missed out on his opportunity to arrange a 50/50 deal or similar by not responding during the dispute.
  18. I think it's as per this posting :winky: :
  19. If you join LOC as a Gold member, most dealers (though not all) will give you a discount.
  20. Yes, sorry, you're right, I interpreted the diagram wrongly before and it does look like it's after the cat. The sensor looks like it will be between £150 and £190 from Lexus/Toyota, as far as I can see.
  21. So have you finally had a code come up now ? After your engine check light was coming on but with no codes ? So if it was P0156 for you, Bank 2 Sensor 2 on an IS300, then that's in the exhaust just before the cat. The picture on page 2 here shows it on a LHD drive car, on the passenger side, but I presume it'd be under the driver's side on RHD. Assuming it's the only code and no work has been done in that area recently, you too probably need a new sensor.
