  1. You can get HID conversion kits easily off eBay, which you may well know already. The bulb type for the IS200 is HB4/9006. Yes, the original headlight units are fine with HIDs in, it's a dead easy conversion (the HID bulb just plugs straight into place, with the HID ballast being connected to the existing headlamp wiring). Colour is a personal preference, but I think that 6000K is quite common around here, a good compromise IMHO between brightness and looking cool :D . 4500K would be a bit brighter but a bit whiter too. 8000K would be less bright and more blue.
  2. There's a part number given for a "front skirt" in one of the sticky threads on this forum. I'm guessing that this is the TRD front skirt/lip spoiler, though I don't know for sure. I checked with my local Lexus dealer and they're quoting around £146 for that item (presumably unpainted). I would have thought that the price would be higher for these items now, rather than lower, due to them potentially being in short supply. Certainly the price of the Sport grille seems to have gone up rather than down.
  3. This has been a great thread I still think you were right to be cautious, it could easily have been a scam. You didn't lose anything, you still made the sale, and if it had of been a scam then you were better prepared for it. Personally, I won't be using this happy ending as an example to be less cautious in future.
  4. Might be worth opening up the electronic boxes under the bonnet and seeing if you can see signs of water getting in there. The code readers are pretty cheap, around £30 for a stand-alone one, or even cheaper if you've got a laptop you can use. Check out the Group Buys thread, there's one there where Ellz is looking to get some carbon items made up, including bonnets.
  5. try here http://www.cheaptoyotaparts.co.uk/ Ask for Chris Bilmore, tell him DJ Wozza from LOC sent you. I think I might be missing something, because I looked at that website and they seem to be based in Bath, not very near to Esher. Do they have another branch ?
  6. Could perhaps be some water has got into the electrics under the bonnet, e.g. the box with the relays in it ? Have you got an OBDII reader so you can check any codes for the engine check light ? As for the Gold thingy, send a PM to Steve and he'll sort that out for you.
  7. If you get a Lexus dealer to do all that, they're going to charge you a premium price for it. If you can find an independent Toyota/Lexus specialist then it's likely to be a lot cheaper. Or you could do some/all of the items yourself depending on your ability. The lip spoilers come unpainted if you buy them new, so again you could paint it yourself or pay someone to do this for you. Several people here have fitted things like this themselves. Changing the rear box on your exhaust, if that's what you're planning, should be a pretty easy job for any garage to do. I don't know exactly what's involved with changing the pedals but I imagine it's something that you may be able to do yourself. As for the suspension, the Sport is lowered just slightly from the other models. So you could try and find some Sport springs from somewhere (e.g. a breakers). Or you could buy lowering springs to lower it further, or coilovers (which allow you to adjust the height rather than it being fixed).
  8. An example of a stand-alone OBDII reader is this one, which as you can see is only £30. You may well pay more than that for a garage to plug in their own reader and tell you what's wrong. As has been said, you can look up the codes on these forums and also get advice from the knowledgeable folks on here as to what might be causing the code. If you've got a laptop then it will be even cheaper, you can get a USB-connected OBDII thingy from eBay for a few pounds.
  9. You bunch of :tsktsk: I've been worrying about what was happening ! Glad it all had a happy ending though ! :D
  10. So where are they and how did it go ? We need to know ! :D
  11. Me too ! I'd love to have come down for the mini-meet ! :D
  12. Sounds to me like either the fuel gauge was stuck, or it should have been even higher over the "F" if it was full. Was the needle even higher when you filled it up, compared to when you picked it up ?
  13. Welcome :) If it hasn't been done already, then a proper geometry setup (ideally at WIM, although I realise that's some way from you) will work wonders for your handling and stop premature/uneven tyre wear.
  14. I think you'll get more of a "bright spot" effect with those LEDs, since they point outwards. As for the lenses, I think your best bet is to be nice to Aztec :D
  15. That's what I was thinking. *imagines sweet little old lady/cunning scammer (delete as applicable) standing on corner, seeing a convoy of Lexuses sweeping into view* "But I only wanted to buy one car ..."
  16. Here's an example of T10 inverted white LEDs on eBay, item number 200257289525. I have these exact ones in my sidelights and number plate holder. You can get other colours too, of course.
  17. The LED/bulb type that you need for the door markers are the same ones as the sidelights and number plate lights, i.e. 501w /T10/w5w. Should be easy to find LEDs like that on eBay.
  18. I met Richard O'Brien a few weeks back, got his autograph and my pic taken with him :D
  19. I'm really looking forward to hearing the outcome of this !
  20. If the lights don't come on when you open the door just on one side, it must be the little switch on that side that's not working probably. It might just be sticky. I haven't looked for it but it must be in the door jamb somewhere. As for the LED markers, do you just want the LEDs or different lenses ? The LEDs should be easy to get on eBay, but not the lenses. There was a group buy a while back where someone got some clear lenses made up. Also, Aztec has made up his own door markers too, there was a thread on this recently although I can't find it right now. EDIT - found it, see here
  21. HIDs are very easy to fit. I'm not very mechanically-minded at all, but even I managed it ok. I'm sure that if I could do it, you can too !
