  1. Everyone's driving style is different, why not try it and see ? I would have thought that as long as you don't compensate for the reduced throttle response by flooring it all the time, you should increase fuel economy a bit.
  2. No, it shouldn't increase fuel *consumption*, but it should increase fuel *economy* - i.e. you should get more MPG. Check out this thread for a great example !
  3. Are you referring to Omega's post ? I could be wrong but thought they were saying they had an OEM bonnet clip thingy for sale.
  4. I could be wrong, but they look like the LED ones you can get on eBay. Although people on here have said that the eBay LED ones are pretty unreliable. No disrespect meant to the original poster though, whose car does look very nice !
  5. I used to think it was really annoying too. But then once I accidentally selected reverse without realising, and it saved me, so I'm quite happy about it now !
  6. Had anyone done any work on your car before this started happening ? Could it be a damaged ABS sensor ?
  7. That's a little bit rude to the moderators, isn't it ? Generally they have a thankless task to try and keep the boards running smoothly. Perhaps if you have a problem with their actions you could contact them via PM to sort it out ?
  8. If you can feel the scratch, then it's not going to polish out by hand, although you could make it a bit less noticeable via hand polishing. You could check on Detailing World for some of the professional guys who advertise on there, to find someone local to your area. You could post on there and ask for recommendations from others perhaps.
  9. I think that's the County Council isn't it ? As opposed to the local Council.
  10. Stav has Supra brakes on his IS200, I think.
  11. The thread on the clear door markers is here, it's aztec who's the lens-making genius !
  12. I'm genuinely confused, though, why an apparently contentious subject area that ended up with Bazza closing two threads and saying "enough is enough", has resurfaced in a brand new thread. What's changed ? I'm not trying to be funny, but if I had a thread locked on a discussion that I had started and had ended up going bad, would it be generally acceptable for me to start up a new thread on the same subject a day or so later ? I think I must be missing something here.
  13. Try phoning a different Lexus dealer and ask them to quote you for the work, also ask about the Gold discount there. Different dealers will offer different prices, it's worth shopping around.
  14. Monti has already posted some pics on the previous page in this thread, here. There's only one K&N air filter for the IS200 as far as I know, the dog leg-shaped one. Don't know if there are any others for some other variants, or perhaps the pictures you've seen are just an example K&N filter for another car ?
  15. Also, a lot of household insurance policies include a free legal helpline, which might be able to help with this sort of thing.
  16. There's just a chance they would fit on the 18s though. On the 5-spoke 17s, the round centre caps won't push all the way in. *If* the 18s have a deeper centre hole then they might just fit. They could have a deeper centre hole an still take those pronged-style caps. If you want to measure the depth of the centre hole on your 18s, then I can tell you how that compares to the depth of the round centre caps.
  17. They don't quite fit properly on the 5-spoke OEM wheels, they stick out a bit, as I posted up earlier (with pics). So I wonder if they'd have the same problem on the 18s. I don't have any 18" wheels to try them on though.
  18. That doesn't sound right. Are you sure your K&N filter is installed correctly and the airbox is closed properly ? Maybe I'm imagining it, but I too think it does change the engine note slightly, a bit more of a growl as you say :)
  19. I also recommend getting WIM to check out your motor. Looks like you're in London so it shouldn't be too long a journey, I'm sure it'll be worth it.
  20. Yep, it's in the November 2008 issue of Car Magazine, as part of their Performance Car of the Year test, versus the BMW M3 as well, on the track. It didn't come out too well.
  21. Good luck ! :D Bear in mind that there are lots of Sports around, it's not a rare model. So if the one you see isn't quite right, pass on it and check out another !
  22. Those look like part 42603-53060, the same as the ones that I posted except they've got the silver background rather than dark grey/black. I don't think these ones were used on the IS200 although I could be wrong. I've seen them on RXs. They may well look fine on the IS though.
