  1. I noticed this the other day and thought it was just my car too ! At least I know it's a Lexus thing !
  2. I finally got around to doing this, incredibly easy even for a numpty like me, and very pleased with the end result : I see what you mean about bending the horns up Chris. I was expecting that they'd just sound quiet, but they don't do they, they make a horrible/amusing sort of farting noise if you don't ! Thanks to all for their suggestions on doing this. I've posted my own walkthrough (should such an easy job require such a thing) in the Workshop forum here
  3. Sometimes there's a sticker in the engine bay saying that the timing belt was changed. Also, check the service book, if you've got one and it's been stamped, then phone up the previous servicing garages to see if they changed the cam belt. If those fail, then you may well be able to get a Lexus dealer to have a quick look at the belt for free (I did just that), to see if it looks like it's a new one or the original one.
  4. Yes, the higher speed stuff should still work fine but you won't notice any difference. Go for whichever is cheapest. Yes, Crucial memory should be fine.
  5. Having come from a car with a trip computer showing mpg over a journey, I initially thought that the fuel meter in the IS200 was a complete waste of time, because of that yo-yoing effect. However, I now think it's absolutely great. It lets you see how there can be a major mpg difference through very subtle differences in the way that you drive. If you nail the throttle all the time, then there's going to be no point looking at it. But if you drive in a way that you try and conserve your momentum (e.g. not having to break sharply and then accelerate hard again) then you'll see you can keep your mpg relatively high.
  6. I just started filling in the details on their website (as if I was sending something) to check that it really is a flat rate, and yes, it is, for up to 30kg (size limits too). Seems very good to me.
  7. The size/weight limits are here. They do make it sound like a flat rate for anything up to 30kg though, which does sound very good of that's correct (and it sounds like false advertising if it's not correct).
  8. Funny how we've all got different tastes ! That's life though, not too suprising, I guess. To me, that white one (with black bonnet) looks like the bonnet doesn't join up with the bumper/grille properly, I've never been too grille on the LE grille anyway, and the intercooler looks too small for the gap in the bumper to be "showing off" (as it were). No disrespect meant of course !
  9. I think he was a trader, yes. I did think it was amazing rate, I didn't think I'd get that price but wanted to see how reasonable I could get. Thanks, looks like that uses ParcelForce. Does seem quite good if I'm reading it right.
  10. A K&N air filter should slightly help your fuel economy through freeing the breathing of the engine. Don't forget to reset the ECU if you install one, so the ECU can re-learn how much fuel to use.
  11. I'm planning to sell some alloy wheels that I bought off eBay (will offer them via LOC first before eBaying them). Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced delivery company please ? I paid just £20 for shipping from the original seller, which I thought was amazingly cheap for something so heavy !
  12. 7.1 litres according to the online workshop manual here Yes, Toyota should have the correct coolant.
  13. I think that another reason for the light staying on is if your brake pads are low. There are quite a few things that can keep this light on, as you can see.
  14. That's what I thought, and it's reassuring to hear that yours doesn't rust Stoney. I'm planning on getting an HKS Silent Hi-power too.
  15. I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now. Let's hope that whoever did it gets what's coming to them before too long.
  16. Yep, them's the ones, brand new. How about £35 inc postage ?
  17. One of the good things about Bilt-Hamber Auto-clay is that you only need to use water as a lubricant for it. Most other clays make you use a specific product for the lubricant.
  18. Maybe it's a silly question, but why would you take your exhaust of for winter ? Do you do that every winter ?
  19. Oh *****, now I've just seen Bourdais's penalty which gives Massa another point. Another complete joke, Bourdais didn't do anything wrong, it was Massa's fault. What a suprise !
  20. I bought a set of those off eBay myself thinking that I might put them on, but I've decided to keep my 5-spokes. But they're the silver ones, not the anthracite ones. I paid £120 plus £20 postage, and am only hoping to get my money back, as opposed to making a profit. The wheels didn't originally come with centre caps, and I also have those, which cost me approx £50.
  21. I could understand Hamilton's penalty if it was the norm for this sort of incident. But please tell me when the last time was you saw a stupid move at the first corner penalised in this way ? That's my main problem, I agree it was a stupid move but it cost him, it didn't benefit him, and this sort of thing doesn't normally get penalised.
  22. Those are the LE 17" wheels, which I believe came either in silver or the darker anthracite. There was an eBay seller who was selling loads of these recently, but he doesn't seem to have any up at the moment. Keep a lookout, they shouldn't be too hard to find.
  23. ebay? motor factors? dont think the police would like them to much at min in white. Like this - eBay
  24. Yeah, but you've still modded it from that though, haven't you ? Like your exhaust, lowering etc ?
  25. Interesting, it's mentioned on their website too. Unfortunately I can't make that night though
