You guys who went need to realise, it's your LOC *duty* to take pics and post them up here, thereby making those of us who couldn't make it feel even more cheesed off and even more determined to make it next time ! :P :D

I'm no automotive expert so may be missing something, but I can't say I've ever heard of Brisk spark plugs from the Czech Republic. Personally I'd be steering well clear of them. Most people here seem to go for the Denso IK20s, which is what I just got from eBay US earlier in the week - linky NGK IFR6A11 are also listed as compatible plugs in the online workshop manual for the IS200.

That makes it look like some sort of cheap Korean car to me.

Where are the pics ? Can't believe there was a great meet like this and no-one took any pics ! :D

Thanks again for everyone's input, it makes it a lot easier for me to decide whether to or how to spend my money when I can get views from the LOC community ! I think I'm going to get the C-One ARBs. I've started a Group Buy thread for them here

Yes, there are a few McDonalds in central Milton Keynes, shouldn't be a problem.

It's not a million miles away, just down the M1 basically. About an hour probably. But would make it more complicated (for me at least) to make both.

Got my IK20s off eBay, so will be installing them soon. Should I reset the ECU after putting them in ?

If it's not a master, then if you ever lose that key then you're screwed, sorry (new ECU). Hopefully it is a master though. If it's a master, you can programme in new keys (you'll need to buy the fob/transponder etc, e.g. through eBay, see sticky thread for details). Basically you can only programme new keys with a master key. If you don't have a master key, you're stuck with the keys that you've got, as I understand it.

Hopefully it's a master. If it is, then if I was you I would ASAP get hold of another key and programme it up as another master (instructions in sticky posting near the top of the forum). If you've only got one key and you lose it, then you're facing a big bill ...

Missing from the knowledge base article (I sent in a comment a while back but it hasn't showed up) but very important is to check that you get at least one "master" key with the car. Without a master key you can't programme any more keys, potentially meaning if you lose the other key(s) you will have a *very* big bill to get any more (new ECU required). To check if a key is a master, put it into the ignition and watch the flashing "Security" light on the dashboard. If it immediately turns off when you put the key in, it's a master key. If the Security light comes on for a couple of seconds when you put the key in, it is not a master key. Don't just rely on the number of the buttons on the key (when new, it's the master keys that have a boot release button) being the sign of master/non-master.

This is kind of a dumb question, but how do Bluetooth kits like this work with regards to picking up your speech ? Do they have their own microphone, or rely on your phone's microphone ? Or something else ?

Gutted that I missed it. I even had my camera with me, but it would have been well after 11 by the time I got there. Fingers crossed that the turnout encouraged the Ace Cafe to give us a regular slot, so that I can try and get to the next one !
