  1. Yeah, the revised one has slightly different plugs on the back, and switchable heated mirrors, whereas the older models have permanent heated mirrors. So does that mean that mine is the latest revision?? According to the online workshop manual, there were a few small changes introduced from August 2002 (at the same time that the SportCross came in). I guess you chould check the new features listed there and see if your car has them (52 plate could mean you got them or were just before them, I guess).
  2. Jason did it for me, but I watched him to do it. Basically you need to take the clocks out, which is a pretty easy job, I'm sure even a numpty like me could do that ok, just undoing a few screws etc then disconnecting the cables to the clocks (sorry you might already know this bit). The only fiddly bit is attaching the dials themselves. They go on over the top of what's there already, but you need to ease them over the needles (i.e. pushing the centre of the disc over the needle, which is a pretty tight fit), and be *very* careful not to scratch the paint on the existing dials (e.g. red bits on the rev counter). I think there's tape on the back of the discs to help prevent this, but you still need to be careful. The dials stick on with industrial-strength sticky tape. You then need to just get rid of any potentially annoying finger marks, bits of fluff etc, then close it all back up again and reinstall the clocks. It shouldn't take more than an hour really.
  3. Aztecbandit had been talking about getting some clear door lenses made up ? :winky:
  4. The K&N air filter on my IS200 is great. Slightly helps the mpg I think, plus makes a slightly nicer noise. And will be good value for money considering it will pretty much never need replacing, just cleaning.
  5. Thanks for the comments. I absolutely love the new dials, it's something else that puts a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel. Big, big thanks to Jason for fitting them for me. I probably could have done it myself, but (not saying they're too hard to fit, more about my own lack of ability) there would have been a lot of swearing involved though
  6. Please, please don't mourn for me I'm still here, though you don't see. I'm right by your side each night and day and within your heart I long to stay. My body is gone but I'm always near. I'm everything you feel, see or hear. My spirit is free, but I'll never depart as long as you keep me alive in your heart. I'll never wander out of your sight- I'm the brightest star on a summer night. I'll never be beyond your reach- I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach. I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around and the pure white snow that blankets the ground. I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond, The clear cool water in a quiet pond. I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring, The first warm raindrop that April will bring. I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine, and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine. When you start thinking there's no one to love you, you can talk to me through the Lord above you. I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees, and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze. I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep. I'm the smile you see on a baby's face. Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!
  7. I'm not trying to kick you while you're down, and I remember being young and foolhardy myself, but hopefully you've learned from this experience. If you were going at 50mph and ended up spinning a few times then thank goodness it was just a bit of damage to part of your car, and not to yourself or to anyone else (e.g. a pedestrian). Hopefully you'll be able to get your car back up and running soon, and will be a little bit wiser for the experience :winky:
  8. Ah ok. You'll have to tell the insurers about the accident even if you decide it's not worth claiming, I think. I see the issue, yes, if you can repair it for cheaper than your excess then it's not worth claiming obviously. But as you say it could turn out to be pricey, depending on what damage has been done. Do you have any no claims at all ? If so it'll be affected if you claim, yes. Even if you don't have no-claims at the moment, they might put your premium up next year because of the crash.
  9. I'm very far from an expert, but it sounds like you've probably damaged the suspension on that side too. I would have thought if you hit the kerb with enough force to badly buckle the wheel, then you've probably done some other damage too. You're clearly going to need to get someone to have a look at it. Do you have comprehensive insurance ? Or just third party ? I would imagine you could at least get a free estimate for the repairs to give you an idea of how much damage there is, and what parts might need replacing. Then perhaps with more information, other members here might be in a position to be able to advise you on how to fix it with least cost ?
  10. I think it's just (or at least mainly) the fact that the battery and rear light failure indicators swapped places (odd as that may seem), or something like that. Compare the position of those with yours. I wondered what that "XE 01" code meant. Yours has a different code then ?
  11. Got these yesterday. What do you think ?
  12. I just found a thread which might be useful, and edited my previous posting to include the link.
  13. Aztec is the guy who's done lots on this, and could give you some great advice. I'm pretty sure he's advised that inverted LEDs is what he's used in the past, yes. I'll try and see if I can dig out a link to a thread on that, this has been discussed before. The same threads will also say about which bulbs for which dials, I think. Edit - here we are, have a look at this thread
  14. Tony, if you feel a strong need to try and help others avoid the pain that you're suffering, then you could perhaps try and divert your current feelings towards thinking of ideas to raise money for research, e.g. some sort of sponsored car-based event to raise money for cancer research ? I do hope this doesn't sound insensitive, I'm not trying to say you should be feeling any differently from how you do. Just that it might help you in some way to help others for the future ?
  15. I don't know about the second bit, but on the first question, no. These are diffused LEDs : These are inverted LEDs : Look in the "Auto Bulbs" section for that seller's shop. I think that "T10" refers to the size of the holder, not the LED size itself, though I'm not 100% sure and I'm sure that someone else who knows more will be able to answer this properly.
  16. Try this UK seller for inverted LEDs, who I have used before myself.
  17. My thoughts are with you and your family Tony. Cancer is something that lots of organisations are working on to research and develop new treatments and cures. I certainly believe that money donated to such causes is very worthwhile, I think we all know people whose lives have been touched by cancer.
