  1. It would be £100-ish *very* well spent IMHO ! :D
  2. I would have thought there would be some later write-offs at breakers, not just earlier ones. I guess it's pot luck though whether you can find one (e.g. the right year and not smashed in at the front).
  3. I think that factory ones are usually around 4500K, which are a bit whiter and brighter than 6000K 6000K refers to the colour temperature, not to the brightness. So for example, 8000K are more blue than 6000K, and 10000K will be sort of purple. Because of the difference in colour, those ones with a "higher" colour temperature are actually *less* bright. Go for 4500K if you want super-bright HIDs. They will be a little bit brighter than 6000K. A lot of people go for 6000K though because they're still bright, and have a very slight blue tinge which looks kinda cool :D
  4. Also try this thread for some scans of a magazine article about servicing an IS200, in case you fancy trying any of the other bits. There's also the very detailed online workshop manual here.
  5. I'm assuming that you don't have the service schedule booklet that would have originally come with your car. Here are the pages from my 1999 Lexus IS200 "Warranty & Care" booklet. The Full service is every 20,000 miles or every 2 years. The Intermediate service is ever 10,000 miles or 1 year.
  6. I recently did a walkthrough of how to change your spark plugs here. The first step of that is to remove the air filter, so you can see a picture in there. It's very very easy. I personally would recommend a K&N air filter. It is reusable (you can clean it) so it pretty much lasts "forever". And it provides better air flow, which may well help your mpg slightly.
  7. I went to Machine Mart this afternoon, but all the cheaper trolley jacks are out of stock (even at the warehouse). I asked about one specifically and they said the batch had failed their QA tests so they were waiting for more (might be a while), don't know if that applied to all their cheaper ones. I bought some axle stands from Machine Mart, and then when I came back home I discovered that the Halford's website will give you 10% of their trolley jack even if you're collecting in store. I hadn't realised that, I thought the 10% discount would just be before deliveries at home, and then with a delivery charge that wouldn't be worthwhile. So I reserved their 2 tonne trolley jack & case for just £25.19 :D I'm going to have even less excuses for not painting my brake callipers now !
  8. Good luck for tomorrow, hope it all goes well mate.
  9. Have you tried Lexus dealers ? Or a breaker's ?
  10. You're welcome, that's what LOC is here for ! :D You sound a bit like me, I wouldn't have been doing something as "major" as fitting a Sport Grille to my car and moving the horns if I hadn't asked other members of LOC before advice before doing so. I've now gone into even more "advanced" stuff like changing the spark plugs myself I've had tons of help from lots of different people here, so if I can help a few other people in return then that's great !
  11. Sounds great ! :D Oh, and big thanks to you for the exhaust tip ! :D
  12. I'm not going anywhere. But even if I was, there are plenty of other people here that can help you, don't worry ! :D Like Y2Kanjar, I thought it was a pain when I installed the Sports Grille, but when I had to take it off again to move the horns, I thought it was dead easy !
  13. There's a thread on putting LEDs in for your number plate illumination here
  14. Yeah, I'm sure you can do it yourself. Those clips can be a bit fiddly, but you can always ask for advice here if you got stuck. I'm pretty useless at this sort of thing, but I fitted my sports grille ok. And moving the horns is very easy, as per my walkthrough in the Workshop section.
