  1. With 10" tyres you can go up to 285 tyres and have them fitting properly. EDIT - hmm, think I was a bit tired when I posted, edited some stuff out which was wrong !
  2. Just take it to Kwik Fit and they should do it for less than £50. I wouldn't let Kwik Fit do much to my car, but for aircon regas they shouldn't (in theory !) be able to screw it up.
  3. Yeah, I noticed that. Also it says they're in primer but it looks like they're just in the original plastic (the sticky post on this forum is wrong where it says they come primed). Seems odd if the fitting kits are missing though and they're supposedly new.
  4. The standard procedure is here. It doesn't say anything about activating the ABS or having the engine running.
  5. Have you taxed it again now ? Presumably you can't since you don't have MoT ? So is it legal to drive it like that without tax ?
  6. the cat is out of the bag now. I don't want side skirts, but I'd noticed this earlier in the week and was wondering if there would be a flurry of last-minute eBay sniping.
  7. I liked the idea of KERS, because if everyone had it we'd potentially get more overtaking, or at least overtaking attempts (because of course the guy in front would have the opportunity to defend *if* he had enough KERS charge left that lap). It doesn't really make sense at the moment given that only a few teams have it. I do wish Eddie Jordan would stop banging on about it being an "old" technology though. How "new" exactly is the internal combustion engine ?!
  8. Could the wet plugs have happened after the engine died though, and through trying to re-start it perhaps ? Just guessing.
  9. 45mpg ?! :duh: At least it's not "supercharged" now though. Clearly it's had a de-tune because it only has 140 bhp now !
  10. When I was searching for past postings about brake pads recently, I found quite a lot of people who weren't happy with EBC pads.
  11. Put the references to the photos in like this : [img=http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/2175/redlex1.gif] :winky:
  12. Think the piston would normally hit the valves before the spark plug wouldn't it ? Not sure if it's possible for it to actually come into contact with the spark plug, as Ormi said. Think it's more likely the plug melted, but how on earth did that happen ? What sort of plugs were they ?
  13. That link seems to be just for pads, but I must say I'm highly dubious about discs that are so cheap, e.g. there are sets of front discs/pads for just £45 or so. That just seems "too cheap" to me.
  14. Indeed it has Tommy, I broke the head off the screw when I removed it so need to drill it out. It was old & very rusty.. It'll cost you less than a tenner for a new one from Lexus/Toyota. Of course you could pick one up from a breaker's too, but then again that'll probably be quite rusty as well. I cleaned mine up a bit and repainted them when I fitted my radiator panel.
  15. The IS300-specific official info on this is here and here. There are troubleshooting procedures outlined there, also further here and the main one to do is probably testing the resistance of the sensor, providing you have a multimeter, I don't really know whether this is usual failure, but I guess it's not impossible that it's starting to fail, so it works some of the time and not at other times. The O2 sensor has a heating circuit to enable it to work efficiently, and maybe something is going wrong with this, and some of the time it's warm enough to work ok and at other times not ? Just a guess. Could also be a loose wire of course but IMHO I think this is less likely unless there's been some recent work done in that area.
  16. Are you going to be able to make any of the upcoming rounds (or the JDM Allstars too) to be able to watch your car Mat ?
  17. Well, they're not really "cheat" buttons. The idea was supposed to be that all teams would have these devices (KERS, Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems), and it would improve the show by letting teams "push to pass". The trouble is it all ended up being more expensive/complicated than expected, so very few teams ended up using them. Only McLaren really have a decent system, Ferrari sometimes run it, sometimes Renault do and BMW sometimes for Heidfeld.
  18. I'm sure Steve will still get back to us though, he did say he'd do so. Bear in mind that all the moderators/admins have real lives as well, so don't have unlimited time to spend looking into things.
  19. I've got it open in another window on my PC, watching via the BBC website (no TV in the room with my computer). I've got to go out in a little while, so won't be able to watch the whole thing. Supporting Button today, hope he can either win or at least finish on the podium.
  20. No. I do think that a couple of members made some silly comments in that thread which probably should have been edited out, but I don't see why the thread should have been closed. Even if it is decided to be closed, surely a reason for the closure should be given ?
  21. Cool, so those are useful then ? They're no use to me directly so it's great if they can help someone else.
  22. I have uploaded the two TUV documents (ZIP format, and PDFs inside) : TRD front lip TRD rear lip
  23. So what are the several-page-long TUV documents if not part of TUV certification then ?
  24. do they...ive never seen that ive seen the sticker with the P/N, when my kit was fitted i tried to get TUV info for the German peeps, this was back in 2000...so i assume someone from TMME may have paid to have the kits certified have you got a scan of the TUV certification, as it would be usefull I thought that the sticker (part number, where it was made, material type) was part of the TUV process though I might have got that wrong. Yes, my front and rear TRD lips came with TUV certificates. I will scan them and post them up somewhere. I don't have the side skirts so can't help with those. I also have the TUV papers for the TTE lowering springs, if you want those too.
  25. When I have been a moderator on various forums, we had policies that made sure a member knew exactly why any particular action had been taken against them, through quoting back to them the postings that resulted in said action being taken, and explaining exactly what it was about them that was wrong. That email sent back to that member was visible to other mods/admins so they could see what had happened, and if necessary they were free to disagree with the action taken. I certainly hope that something similar has happened in these cases.
