  1. Sorry for all the questions, but if I order those seals does the pipe come with it ? Some posters have talked about replacing the "bypass pipe", I presume that is the bit between the two seals ? Bit confused, sorry :duh:
  2. Mine is a 1999 model. So I need to order 2 x 90301-17009 ? Thanks.
  3. The bit above the water pump that looks like it's been leaking ? ok, but I can't see that part number in the picture. Am I missing something ? Sorry, I don't quite understand
  4. Great pics ! :D What was with the different rear tyres Jason ?
  5. Dunno. He was on dry tyres, wasn't he ? Not sure what the rules are exactly on that light, but I wonder if the drivers turned it off when they went onto drys (I'm sure I saw some other drivers with no flashing light later in the race) but then he didn't turn it back on when it started raining ?
  6. And how decent is he in his own pit box ?
  7. Yay for you, well done ! :D I started with some HIDs and a Sports Grille too, now I've done quite a few small mods and still planning more
  8. Which is the bypass pipe in that picture ? I'm getting my cam belt done soon, and have a new water pump to be fitted at the same time. I don't have a bypass pipe though, what part do I need exactly, do I just tell my Lexus dealer I need a "water pump bypass pipe" ? Should I get it done at the same time ? Edit - Just noticed Carles mentioned the "bypass seal"
  9. I was wondering the same thing. Slightly suspicious ... What an end to the race though, talk about drama !
  10. I think I might not have explained properly. When I mentioned CD-Rs I meant it wasn't that only CD-Rs don't play properly and originals do, as some people have found in the past. I don't think that copying my CDs is going to make any difference. Well it's not really ok though, it can't play the last few tracks on most of my CDs. On the ones it can, I'm wondering if they're shorter CDs so it doesn't need to go so far to the edge ? I don't think it's damaged the CDs either. I put a CD in for the first time that I hadn't played in that player before, and again it started having problems at the end.
  11. Yeah it looks like you've got the right gear Chris, judging by your latest avatar pic ! :D Really wish I was going to this, even just to watch, have a great time guys, looking forward to the pics/video !
  12. I've posted before that my head unit seems to have a problem with the outer edge (later tracks) of CDs, because it starts skipping. I'm wondering whether it might be worth me trying to lubricate the arm which the CD lens travels on, to see if this helps - I'm guessing the lens is having a problem moving to the far end of its travel ? This problem is happening on original CDs that used to play fine in my old car, it's not an issue with CD-Rs etc. I don't get any Error1/Error3, it just starts skipping on the later tracks. So, can anyone out there who's taken theirs apart comment on how straightforward this might be ? e.g. if the sliding mechanism for the lens quite visible or is there lots to take apart before you get there ? I've already tried a lens cleaning CD but this didn't make any difference. I need to balance the risk of making it worse if I take it apart versus the current situation where at least most of the tracks play fine.
  13. I'm thinking of getting some HIDs for my main beams now too after being educated on this !
  14. Very interesting. I thought main beam HIDs were a bit of a waste of time for the original reasons Wozza posted (though I knew he had them fitted), but given that the dips flash at the same time, hmm ...
  15. The beam should be fine. It won't be 100% perfect since the reflectors weren't designed for HIDs, but a lot of us have installed HIDs here in the UK and the car passes the annual MoT test (vehicle roadworthiness/safety) fine with them. It won't just be a narrow spotlight beam, it'll still use the reflectors. It might be that you need the beam adjusted slightly when you install them, or they might be fine as is. If you put your car a few yards away from and pointing straight at a wall (before you fit the HIDs) and note where the top of the beams come to, then you can check after you've installed your HIDs if the top of the new (much brighter) beams is in the same place, and if it's majorly out you can always try and adjust it yourself. Or get a garage to do it (often you can get that done for free over here). Basically you should end up with a roughly similar spead of beam from before (because you're still using the same reflectors), just that it'll be much brighter. So if your headlights weren't aligned properly before (e.g. pointing upwards) then it'll be a big problem with the HIDs installed (e.g. a much brighter beam pointing upwards !). Sorry I don't know what the PIAA foglights are, are those just regular bulbs ? I don't know if the foglight fittings on the Altezza are the same as the IS200.
  16. Sticky brake calliper ? It's a common problem on the IS200. It could be that you have a sticky calliper and the new discs were initially fine, but then after a while the sticky calliper caused them (one ?) to warp.
  17. Are you sure that your wheels are balanced correctly ? I had a very bad vibration on my IS200 when I bought it, which I found was due to the alloy wheels having been reburbished but the wheels not being balanced afterwards, and one of them was massively unbalanced
  18. Thanks, that's interesting. The had the Clarke one as the best, but that one isn't available at the moment unfortunately. Since the runner-up was the Halfords one, it looks like they're confirming my choice of getting the Halfords one ! :D
  19. Interesting about the Folia Tech stuff, I'd not heard that mentioned before here. You can get that from Halfords ? I had a look on their website but couldn't see it. Edit - just found it Blimey, that's expensive. Is it really worth the extra money ?
  20. There are a couple of recent discussions on the various ARBs here and here There's a guide on how to fit them here
