  1. The online workshop manual has a picture of this on the second page here
  2. There was a recent discussion about different makes of ARBs in this thread I have some C-One ARBs on order.
  3. You could try and see if there are any members in your neck of the woods who have a scanner that you can try out ? I know it's not the same car, but my 1999 IS200 works fine with my OBDII scanner.
  4. I'll be there, then on to the LOC Xmas do later :D
  5. I'm sure there was a recent thread where Stav described his decat pipe and how he switches it out quickly and easily at MoT time. Edit - found it, there's even a picture, here
  6. Probably not. The plugs are supposed to be changed every 60K miles if you're using the standard OEM type, which are long-life plugs. Could well be worth checking the last time they were changed (possibly phoning previous servicing garages to check if you haven't had the car that long but do have a stamped service book). The Denso IK20s are what I've recently installed too, though they don't last as long and will need changing more often.
  7. How many miles has your car done ? There's a possibility that if your shocks are quite worn that fitting lowering springs will exacerbate the problem and cause you handling problems. Another member recently seemed to have encountered that problem.
  8. I haven't seen a sign of rust on any body rust on an IS200. When I saw the underside of my 1999 model on a ramp, it looked pretty much like new (other than the exhaust). The OEM wheels are highly prone to corrosion though, so you shouldn't be too worried about badly corroded wheels (other than perhaps building in a refurb to your budget). I'd say that with it being a buyers market at the moment, you should be able to choose your favourite spec level, your favourite colour, and then look at cars that match those together with your budget, until you get one that feels right (I don't mean in terms of handling, I just mean it seems like an honest car). Check when the cam belt has been changed. Lexus originally recommended this was at 100K miles or 10 years, but they changed this to 60K miles or 6 years. One member here has recently had to get quite a few new parts for his engine after his cam belt snapped.
  9. It would be quite normal to find one with tyres that have a lot of wear on the inside though, I would suggest it's not a reason to avoid the car (although it might be a reason to knock down the price). To BanjoMaster - the factory geometry settings for the IS200 are effectively "wrong" and result in premature inside tyre wear and poor handling. The geometry specialists at Wheels in Motion (WIM) can sort this out quickly and easily for around £100. Most cars you will come across have probably not had the WIM treatment. Make sure you get at least one (preferably two) "master" keys with the car (very expensive bill if you don't have a master key and you want more keys). The "master" key will usually have three buttons on it (the other keys don't have the boot release button), but the sure-fire way to tell is to insert the key into the ignition and see if the flashing Security light on the dashboard goes out immediately - if it does go out straight away it's a master, if it stays on for a second before going out then it's not a master.
  10. Have you had the car for a while ? I have had occasional problems with my car where it turns over fine but won't fire. I haven't had that problem (touch wood, I've probably jinxed it now !) since I changed the spark plugs. Is that the sort of problem you have, or is it something else ?
  11. It's got a limited-slip differential, like the regular Sport model, as well as the shiny sill plates. sports pedals etc. So it sounds like a "Sport" level of spec to me.
  12. I paid £41 for a sports grille (from a Lexus dealer) a couple of months back, that was including a LOC Gold member discount. List price is higher than that.
  13. What are you expecting from the Camcon ? I don't know a lot about them, but I see that you've got WIM on your list of mods to do, and I do know that money spent on WIM is money *very* well spent IMHO (I noticed a huge difference on my car, much more noticeable than I was expecting).
  14. Do I get booted out of LOC if I admit to preferring Strictly Come Dancing ?
  15. Not saying it definitely is the battery, but the colder weather we've had recently often helps to tip marginal (failing) batteries over the edge, I've had that before on previous cars.
