  1. I'm not sure there's a specific brightness that sidelights need to be. On my old car (non-Lex) one of the sidelights (conventional bulb) was very dim compared to the other, but it still passed the MoT ok.
  2. Have a look at both pages of the diagram here That shows you where the cam belt is. If you look at the thread here about how to change the cam belt, then in the second picture in the original posting there, you can see the drive belts. The cam belt is under the black plastic cover in the photos which is just above the drive belts.
  3. It doesn't run off the water pump, no. It's underneath. So to get to the cam belt you have to take off the drive belts for the water pump, alternator, air con. Then it's a trivial job to replace the water pump when you've got all that lot off. I just had exactly the same thing done last week (changed water pump at same time as cam belt). It was as well I did though, the water pump was leaking from below (where I hadn't noticed).
  4. I don't have any that I can help you with, but you might want to say what sort of alloys you're after, as there are several different types. For instance, is it the original 5-spoke 17" wheels that you have ?
  5. Lexus dealers can still get them. I was just quoted £123.35 plus VAT for one (list price, I didn't bother asking about discounts etc yet).
  6. Sorry, it's the front lip that I was referring to. I've edited my posting to put the word "front" in there now ! :)
  7. Looking at P.Lindblom's lovely pictures has, for some reason, made me *really* want a front lip spoiler for my IS200 (I think it's seeing both the without and then with pics, though I realise he's done a lot more than just fit the lip !). The part number 08154-53810 as in the sticky thread on this forum is the right part for this, isn't it ? Now I understand these come primered. If I get one, what should I do about getting it painted ? I presume Lexus will probably charge me a fortune for this ? Should I just get some quotes from local body shops ? How about fitting ? I'm not much good at this sort of thing, but it seems like something I *might* be able to fit myself ?
  8. Yeah I bought the straight stickers first, but subsequently saw the curved ones and they look a lot better. So I've got the curved ones to put on now !

  9. No must-have accessories ? ok, how about specifically for rust removal then ? I can see there are various types of carbon steel brushes, looks like the bigger wheel-type one would perhaps be one to go for ? There are stainless steel brushes too but I guess they're more expensive and perhaps not necessary ?
  10. It's quite normal for the premium to keep going up, even though in theory you might think it should be going said. As others have said, keep shopping around and do try Sky for a quote too.
