Don't think that's how snow mode works on the IS200 though. On the manual it certainly changes the throttle response, making it less sensitive. I don't know how it works on the auto but I presume that it does this too, over and above anything it may or may not do with starting off.

I imagine that's something the dealer (e.g. the parts department) should be able to clear up for your pretty easily, i.e. what the date format means for Toyota/Lexus.

Don't the Japanese put the year first in their dates ? So that could be a part from 2004 (so probably original) ? I don't know if that's the format that Lexus/Toyota use on their parts. I'm starting to think that my own car might have developed a similar rattle, I only just noticed it the other day. Thankfully I don't hear it when I have the stereo on though.

If you get a situation like there where you really don't like something, it's worth phoning or writing to complain to the supermarket about it or the original manufacturer. Usually they'll send you some money off vouchers which end up giving you more than your money back.

As I understand it, the IS200 doesn't have a MAF sensor.

ok, that's fair enough, the bush needs replacing. But I am not clear how you are so sure that this is the cause of the vibrations. If you're going to the trouble of replacing it, I do hope that this was the correct diagnosis.

TDi have some hoses for the supercharger kit here. Don't know if you can get them elsewhere, e.g. whether Prolex can get hold of them ? Might be worth asking.

Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but how do you know for sure that it's the trailing arm bushes if you haven't replaced them yet ?

I could be wrong, but that looks like a pic of a regular HKS Hi-Power. I couldn't see anywhere in the eBay description that said you could remove a bit to change the sound. I'm guessing that they've just put up the wrong pic, and it is really a Silent Hi-Power. But if I was going to buy this I'd certainly want to check with the seller first to make sure.

That's not a picture of the Silent Hi-Power, it should have another box on the side, as per the one in Patrik's picture.

Hooray, it's not a Lex after all ! :D I took the statement on there that it was an IS200 at face value, and couldn't look too closely since it was kinda turning my stomach

I seem to remember reports that the Grom doesn't work on the older top-loading head units, which is what I imagine is on this 1999 IS200. Although I don't know how true that is. -
