  1. I dug out some old threads, and the VVT-i cover takes 4 M6x25 bolts, with 13mm washer. The airbox cover takes 3 M6x30 bolts, with 21mm washer (poss need a second, smaller washer too). The ones that go on near the radiator, e.g. to hold down a stainless radiator panel if you have one, are M6x12.
  2. I've just ordered some of those sun visor LEDs myself.
  3. The linked stuff is incredibly expensive. I don't really like the idea of super long-life stuff, I'd rather get my coolant changed every couple of years or so. I'm only speaking for myself of course, but £15 for 5L of genuine Toyota coolant doesn't sound a lot to me, and gives me peace of mind. If it was £100 or so then perhaps I'd be more interested in alternatives.
  4. I agree mate, however it seems that most want to pay over the odds for Toyota stuff But that stuff linked is a lot more expensive than the Toyota coolant !
  5. Which ones exactly, the engine cover bolts ? Or the ones at the front ? I've mentioned several so can give you some of the lengths if you want. As Bazza says though, they're M6, so you can just take the ones out you want to replace and measure them, then order up suitable replacements off eBay.
  6. How many miles has your car done ? It shouldn't really have any carbon deposits in it. Are you sure the benefits you describe aren't just psychological ? Sorry, I'm not having a go here, and am certainly not trying to accuse you of not telling the truth, or anything like that. Just that I'm a bit sceptical about this sort of thing, as you mention in the first line of your posting :)
  7. Anyone else coming ? This is this coming Saturday folks.
  8. I can't see that some shocks that have done 70K-ish miles are worth much either.
  9. Thanks. No big suprise though. After Japfest there were several police cars pulling cars over, they were obviously laying in wait for the mass exodus at the end. As you say, a dodgy number plate/tints/too wide wheels etc are going to be a great excuse for them to pull you.
  10. Radio interference of some sort. Could be a cordless doorbell that someone has recently installed nearby. Otherwise could be mobile phone masts or something similar.
  11. Fingers crossed that you get her started soon Marcus, keep up the good work !
  12. A pillar drill would be handy, but I'm not really sure that it would be critical. The screws are just clamping the clutch onto the pulley aren't they ? So as long as its on tight it wouldn't matter too much if the alignment of the screw holes wasn't quite vertical ? I don't have a charger so can't check this and am not 100% sure.
  13. These springs look and sound like the ones that Asi had and said were rubbish. I might have got that wrong though.
  14. Remember that the IS200 has a dual-mass flywheel, so it's not just like it's one solid piece of metal, that's why I'm still suspicious about what state it's in.
  15. I think that this is what you need for the sun visor (31mm).
  16. Yes, they switched to the pink coolant for later cars. Mine is a 1999 model and started with red coolant, so that's what I'm still using.
  17. Personally I think a 36 LED light will be too bright in the front map light (i.e. blinding if you turn it on at night while driving), and not sure it will fit either. I've got a 6-LED one in there, and a 36-LED one in the central dome light. Yes, BA9S is correct for the map light, and 31mm festoon for the dome light. Can't help you with the aircon etc because I haven't done mine, not the sun visors either. I'm sure I've seen a posting previously about what LEDs for the sun visors though, I'll try and dig it out.
  18. Like I said, they said it wasn't available in spray form. How many times............. :tsktsk: Sorry if this seems pedantic, but you did say you tried at Lexus, and Ormi suggested that you can get it from Toyota (not the same thing).
  19. Eh ? Sorry but I don't think that's right Ormi. A two-button key is likely to be a sub key. Three-button keys are usually masters. You can check for sure by inserting the key into the ignition and watching what happens with the flashing Security light on the dash. If it light up for a second when you insert it, then goes out, it's a sub key and can't be used for programming. If it immediately goes out when you insert it then it's a master key. If you don't have a master key then you'll need to contact some auto locksmiths to see if they can help you out. Don't go to Lexus because they'll tell you that you need a whole new ECU.
  20. Have you checked your local Toyota dealer for a price too ? Would be worth checking because there's quite a bit of shipping charge on those eBay items.
  21. The parts diagram shows a change for the rear lights from July 2000, but it still has a connector to four bulbs ! Weird.
