  1. I found a very small pic of the oil filter in the page of an article about IS200 servicing as shown below. The text says :
  2. I haven't got a photo, but there's a diagram showing the location of the oil filter here
  3. Cool, good to know that getting parts is so straightforward !
  4. Yeah but how easy are they to get, how long does it take ? I would guess it might take a lot longer to get certain parts and they could be more expensive ? Or is this not the case ? Genuine question, since I have no experience of this.
  5. That's the RS200 that Stav was referring to. The trim spec can vary, see this website for a guide. Imports can be more expensive to insure, but then again you can try specialists like Sky Insurance (trader on here) that are used to that sort of thing. I think that a lot of the parts are common and will be easy to get via Toyota/Lexus. Don't know how easy it is to get the Altezza-specific parts. As Stav said, try using the "Search" button on the forum to look for "Altezza"
  6. Glad you got it working. This is pretty common, even though it looks like you've plugged in the connector the "wrong" way round (and in extreme cases even needed to butcher the connector to let it connect that way !). Also, you can see how poor those supposed "xenon" bulbs are (normal bulbs with a tiny bit of xenon gas in to make them slightly bluish) - sorry to anyone who has those bulbs but if you install HIDs you'll wonder why you wasted your money before.
  7. ok, that's odd. Check out this diagram then.
  8. Aido was enjoying his meal until he caught a glimpse of Dave's shirt :
  9. On the inside of the fuse box cover (in the engine bay) there's a diagram showing which is which.
  10. Loving all the pics so far, well done everyone ! Here are some of mine : w481ggc's engine bay (Rotrex charger) : Cous3's engine bay (lovely engine covers !) : B15 RUP's engine bay (Vortech-charged IS300) :
  11. Aargh can't believe some :tsktsk: scratched your bonnet Chris ! Here are some of my pics from the night :
  12. Yeah but according to this page of the manual, the ECU compares the output from the sensor before the cat to the output of the sensor after the cat, and throws up this code if there's a problem. So it could be either of the sensors, and it the post-cat sensor was taken out to swap the exhaust it seems the more likely culprit.
  13. That was is300_dino's car. To be honest, when I saw the older pictures (on this forum somewhere) I thought the bonnet mesh looked awful. But it didn't look so bad "in the flesh" (so to speak). Still not totally to my taste but each to their own, it would be boring if we all liked the same things. Edit - links to his pics in this thread
  14. The pictures also don't seem to show the mesh that should be on the bumper.
  15. Even though it's some way, you may well find it's worth it for peace of mind's sake to make the trip down to see Tony WIM. I guarantee you won't regret it, you'll have a real expert in this field checking out your car.
  16. how do i check that?? See this diagram There are two sensors on the manifold, but the more important one here is probably the post-cat one that edeath mentioned, around the middle right-hand-side of the diagram.
  17. The only problem with the meet is that I really really want some TTE Chicane wheels now ! (curse you Keith, lol)
  18. Wow, that was quick, thanks ! :D Yep, definitely interested in a fob where I can just swap my existing key's internals over.
  19. I imagine there are two main types of theft of cars. One being the opportunist one, e.g. the thief can see your car keys through the letterbox/window and appears to be able to break in relatively easily to get them. Putting your keys out of sight would I imagine make most of these guys look elsewhere. The other one being cars that are stolen "to order", i.e. the higher-end cars that are stolen and probably shipped abroad by organised gangs. If I had a car like that (I doubt that a 1999 IS200 would be high on their list) then I think I'd leave the keys out of direct sight of the window (to deter the casual thieves) but put them somewhere that they'll easily be found if someone does break in (so they don't have to resort to violence against me to try and get the keys).
  20. Could you post up a pic of the other side of the key fob please ?
  21. Don't genuine TTE bumpers have a little badge at the centre of the bottom lip ? I can't see one on there.
