  1. Thanks, that did the trick ! :D Think that was a good demonstration of my lack of mechanical aptitude ! :iraqi-info-minister:
  2. Here are before and after pics of my engine bay. I'm pleased with the way that the radiator brackets came out when I re-painted them. Before : After fitting radiator panel, suspension tower covers and re-painting radiator brackets, with new stainless bolts to hold down the rad panel : Here's the problem with the middle of the rad panel. I don't think that any manner of fiddling about is going to move this enough to make it fit. Or am I wrong ? Take a look at the edge of my air duct in the pic below, do some cars have a bolt holding this down ? (I think that's something I've seen in photos, but am not 100% sure).
  3. It's the seller's responsibility to make sure you receive the item. If they sent it to the wrong address then that's their fault, they'll have to send you another one, and make their own arrangements to get the original item back from number 61.
  4. Really ? ok, sorry, I didn't know that, because he originally didn't have one, then he was getting one to add to the kit. If it's gone again then I guess that "for sale" thread needs a further update !
  5. According to this post in the thread that you have referenced, the seller has added a turbo to the kit now, so you shouldn't need to get your own one.
  6. Has anyone had trouble getting the bolt in the centre of the radiator panel to fit ? On Steve D's picture, it looks like he's got his in ok, but that bolt seems to be helping to hold the main air duct down (just to the right of the air duct, looking from the front). Though I could be wrong, it's hard to tell from the picture. On my car, that bolt isn't attached to the air duct, so I wonder if its position changed slightly depending on the model year ? It's dark now, but when I get a chance to do this properly in the daylight (might not be till Boxing Day), I'll post a pic to show what I mean if I'm still having trouble.
  7. can you check that address There's a hosting company at www.aconda.co.uk, is that the one ?
  8. A set price would seem to indicate that they've got a lot of confidence in pulling this off.
  9. Yeah make sure that it's not leaking. Also, the sensor right under the car, behind the main cat, looked ok ? I guess it's possible it was somehow damaged when the exhaust was changed.
  10. Then you might want to get LED sidelights, since that will stick out like a sore thumb :winky:
  11. Yes, if you want them to match. Or get 6000K or 4500K if you want the main beam to be especially bright.
  12. Nah, I was doing it inside. It's just me and the cat here, so I can do what I like lol. It did eventually dry by late last night. Will try and finish it off today using thinner coats ! The oven is not a bad idea if I end up running out of time again though !
  13. Do you mean the regular bulbs with the little bit of Xenon gas in them ? Or are you after a HID kit ? (which would be *much* more bright)
  14. I'm in the middle of smartening up my rad brackets too, but using black Hammerite rather than silver. I hoped to get all that done yesterday, but the Hammerite was taking an absolute age to dry, don't know if I maybe put it on too thickly (even though I was trying not to) ?
  15. I'm kinda struggling to clean mine up (after removing the plastic). I'm using Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover, which does the job fine. The problem is that the engraved part of the surface (which is where most of the residue is left) is quite rough, so attempts to wipe it over with some sort of cloth or similar leaves bits behind which catch on the rough bits. Any ideas ?
  16. Does anyone know exactly which bulbs are in these fog lamps, to help the guy out ? I know what's in the IS200 but it might be different on this Altezza with that bumper ? Personally, I would upgrade the headlamps (dipped beam) first, and then see if you still want to upgrade the fogs after that. The bulb type of the dipped beam is 9006/HB4. You'll find loads of HID kits on eBay as Mat said, e.g. this one. You will need to pick what "colour temperature" you want. 6000K is a popular choice (it's what I've got) as a good compromise between brightness and having a very slight blue tint (i.e. looking "cool"). If you go for 8000K/10000K etc it will be more blue/purple and make you more likely to get a chat with Mr Policeman. For the very brightest go for something like 4300K.
  17. That's not the Legana bumper in that picture though, surely ?
  18. You seem to be saying that you don't get great light from your dipped headlamps, why not upgrade them with a HID kit, it doesn't cost very much and will be *much* brighter. Better than sticking with the conventional bulbs and upgrading the fogs IMHO.
