  1. Why do you need headlamp washers with HID's its a legal requirment. If you dont have self leveling lights and light washers your breaking the law by driving with HID's It's a legal requirement for OEM-fitted HIDs. However, it's much more of a grey area when it comes to aftermarket HIDs. For instance, it's more than a bit daft that headlamp washers are required for OEM HIDs, but as far as I know the MoT doesn't test that your headlamp washers are actually working.
  2. Could it have been to do with the temperature ? Boxing Day it was very cold, at least it was here, and so at 11pm that would presumably have been the case where you were ? Cold does wreak havoc on batteries which are marginal, so I wonder if all you need is some more very low temperatures and it'll do the same again ? No idea on your other question re the boosters though, sorry.
  3. For the oil capacities, have a look at this online manual, click on "Service Data Sheet" and then on the appropriate link for your car's model year.
  4. Please check with ToyotaGT that they're also happy if I take some photos. I wouldn't just pop down there unannounced when I was going to visit, I'd contact them first. If ToyotaGT are also happy for me to take some pics, then please let me know once the car goes down there.
  5. I'm so glad that I discovered the "Ignored Users" list in My Controls !
  6. I was kind of hoping I'd find my plate there, but I didn't, shame !
  7. Yeldarb, I can see where you're coming from but people here really are IMHO just trying to help you, and warning you to be wary because of the awful experience that some other LOC members have had with their cars being messed up (not by ToyotaGT, of course). You seem to have agreed a fixed price for the work, which sounds like an immense help if everything will all be done for one price, so if ToyotaGT hit unforseen problems then they'll have to sort it without charging you for it. I've had some (minor) work carried out at ToyotaGT myself and they obviously know a great deal about the 3S-GTE engine itself, judging by all the other cars that they work on. It'll be very interesting to follow the progress of this project. Please don't feel like people are criticising you or ToyotaGT here, at the end of the day I'm sure everyone will be extremely happy to see you get the result that you're looking for, after all more garages that do good work on Lexus can only be good for other members, providing more choice etc. Please try and take the input on this thread as a positive thing, as other LOC members trying to look out for you and make sure you don't get your fingers burned (or worse) as has happened to others in the past. I'm not very far away from ToyotaGT, and *if* you and they were happy with the idea, then I could pop down there while the work is in progress to take the odd picture to post up on the forums.
  8. I used Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover, that did the job. I think WD40 would probably do it too. Those are exactly the same bolts from the same seller that I used. I also bought some M6 washers from the same place. Mr Mole - orginally Chris posted that M5 bolts were needed (in the rad panel GB thread), but that wasn't right, it's M6 (and I posted so in that thread too).
  9. I realise you were trying to be helpful Dave, but why did you just guess a house number (unless there are reasons that you chose number 61 that you haven't posted ?) and send it ? Given it was a large item the senders could well have just refused it, or taken it and immediately listed it on eBay or something. I don't see how sending it to a random house would have helped ? Obviously the original problem is the buyer not putting his house number into the order details though.
  10. I too would assume that your mate had blue/purple (8000K+) ones rather than something like 6000K which should be ok.
  11. What's your budget ? Are you looking for a used TTE one, or one of the new chargers (e.g. Rotrex/Lysholm) ?
  12. It might just be a dodgy connection though, check the wiring looks ok to it.
  13. It's on the Internet, simply go http://www.bahamutcars.com/workshop/IS_98-...ents/index.html (think you might need to use Internet Explorer to make it work, not sure) :winky:
  14. Does your fuel gauge work Fever ? I'm just asking out of interest, since so many who have had the FCON VPro fitted by TDi seem to have a fuel gauge that doesn't work any more.
  15. The photo will be exaggerating the brightness though, I imagine it looks dimmer than that in reality.
  16. The sensor is behind the front bumper. Look here for a diagram, which includes a description of how to test it. It doesn't mention anything about adjustment, so I assume that replacement is required if it is not working properly.
  17. Snow mode should help improve the fuel economy. But what sort of mpg are you getting, what sort of driving ? If you drive with a lead foot then it will drink loads.
  18. My LEDs are less bright than the OEM bulbs for the number plate too. But I still prefer having the LEDs in. I would perhaps be tempted to try something even brighter, except for the hassle factor of getting it all apart again !
  19. ok, the walkthrough is here, courtesy of the extremely knowledgeable Geoffers :D
  20. It's a right pain ! You have to access it from inside the bootlid. You need to undo a few bolts from inside once you've partially taken off the inside covering of the bootlid. I'm sure there's a walkthrough on the forums somewhere, I'll try and find it.
