  1. Yay good for you mate ! Looking forward to hearing your report when you finally get to drive it !
  2. No, they're easily accessible from the engine compartment. The bulbs just twist and pull out.
  3. For the MPG, it's all down to how you drive really. Snow mode can help on long motorway runs. I don't use snow mode but I mange around 31 mpg normally. P1349 might have been caused by a bit of debris in the engine oil. If that's the case then hopefully it's made its way into the oil filter by now. If it comes up again though it may well be worth getting a Toyota/Lexus dealer to look at why it's happening.
  4. Is it a master key (i.e. does the security light in the dash extinghuish straight away when you insert the key) ? If so, get another key and programme it up and you can see if the problem is specific to one key, as well as meaning you're not totally stuffed if you lose that one key.
  5. Sometimes it can even be wireless doorbells that cause interference, e.g. a neighbour could have installed a new one ? Does it happen away from your house too ?
  6. Surely nothing mate, the phone stays in your pocket, all control of the phone is through the stereo so it will all be legal as soon as the headunit is in :) Have you decided which one to go for? I've got the Pioneer double-DIN on order, same as Johnboy. Can't wait, *really* fed up with the lack of tunes in the car ! Yeah I've figured out a fair bit about the Bluetooth since originally posting. I thought I'd needed a cradle but I think I don't need one if I use the controls from the head unit, e.g. loading my phone book into the head unit and making calls from there without having to touch the phone. I also wasn't originally sure that the head unit came with a microphone but now I can see that it does.
  7. That's my favourite out of all the dash pods, from pictures I've seen. Never seen it in the flesh (so to speak) though.
  8. So a non Lexus air filter is now classed as a modification the world has gone mad Well, you should tell the insurance company about that sort of thing because it's not just a regular non-Lexus air filter, it's a "performance" air filter. So if you crashed the car, hadn't declared it, and the insurance company spotted it then they could use it as an excuse not to pay out. So best to be safe and tell them. Trouble is, Direct Line put it into the same category as anything else that increased the bhp by quite an amount and wanted lots of money for it. So I switched to Sky, who are much more sensible about mods.
  9. Great news that it sounds like they've secured a venue for 2009, looking forward to hearing the dates soon ! :D
  10. You don't need real expensive stuff, though it is easy to get carried away and spend a fortune on cleaning products ! See this guide about the basic two-bucket washing technique, and reasons why you shouldn't use a sponge.
  11. Direct Line are no good when it comes to mods, they wanted to charge me a fortune just for a K&N panel filter even though I explained how little difference it makes to the car's performance.
  12. Check the dash security light as you insert the key, as Colin suggested. You *might* be in luck and one of the two-button keys could be a master, but it's not that likely.
  13. I was confused in the same way. I couldn't find the OBD II port either until I asked on here. It's underneath the dashboard, by your feet (driver's side), pointing vertically down (so you push the connector vertically up into it).
  14. To add to that, looking at this, it appears that the fuse for the heated rear window is indeed on the driver's side in RHD cars.
  15. There's a diagram showing the location of the heated rear screen relay here Since it's a LHD pic though I'm unclear whether it'll be mirrored for RHD, I presume so but can't find a diagram to confirm.
  16. Jason posted up some details on swapping heated seats into an S model, here Edit - just noticed that might not help though, if you've got an SE and you're looking for electrically adjustable passenger seat to be installed where previously it was manual.
  17. I'm with Sky. Good quote, great service so far, very mod-friendly.
  18. Thanks again guys. I've passed the info on, she's going to take it to the garage but at least she can suggest they check the ICV and then take it from there. She's very happy and passes on her thanks that at least she has a suggestion of something for them to look at :D
  19. Data sheet here for 2000 model. That should help you out with the gearbox oil, though I think it might be more subjective for engine oil.
  20. Sounds great Yeldarb, thanks for the details ! :D I can also concur with what the other guys have said, in the couple of occasions when I've been down to ToyotaGT, basically the garage and the spaces outside are chock-full with fast Toyotas - MR2s, Celicas and Supras.
  21. Thanks for all the input so far guys, I'll pass it on ! :D
  22. ok, here's the latest she's given me on the problem : Does that still sound like the same problem ? Presumably some sort of code came up pointing towards the TPS but that might of course be a red herring.
  23. I'm sure Stav can answer for himself, but you might be interested in the write-up he did on different aftermarket ECUs here
