If Stav doesn't end up sorting you out, the part numbers are shown here
  2. Great news ! :D I too have found the folks on Detailing World incredibly helpful, all too-willing to answer my "stupid" questions. I've also seen members offering to come round and help others, as you say there's a similar attitude to LOC there in helping each other out. Never been to one of their meets but I'm sure if I did I'd end up buying even more detailing products !
  3. Looks awesome Patrik. All your work is incredible and it's great to see the pics. As usual though, you've just made me add something to my wanted-mods list !
  4. Whilst I can understand how in theory a dealer could confuse an "S" model with a "Sport" (e.g. just thinking that S stands for Sport), that's a pretty major mistake to make and surely something that Trading Standards would be interested in ?
  5. I've got the predecessor to this. Not flashy but very very good IMHO.
  6. Yep, pretty bad where I am in Surrey. Last night on the way home even though there was only a relatively tiny amount of snow, most of the minor roads didn't seem to have been gritted :tsktsk: and even going very slowly I felt the back end of the car sliding out on one tight corner. No way will I be driving anywhere today ! Gratuitous pic :
  7. I'm really struggling with this thread. I'm not aware of a single person who's said that the no-name units from China are any good, everyone says they're rubbish. I've got a Pioneer aftermarket unit which was only fractionally over £200 and is fantastic. I've got a fascia adapter which matches in very well with the OEM dashboard. My personal opinion is that this looks even better than "factory" because it is a Pioneer (well-known brand) head unit and not an OEM one (Fujitsu in the case of the IS200 OEM head unit). Skraggy, I'm not trying to be rude, but is it really just a coincidence that you've posted a link to a company in Liverpool that sells these, and you appear to be from Warrington ?
  8. Here's a diagram showing the location of the siren.
  9. Not sure I understand. The fascia adapter doesn't cost very much and gives you access to a huge range of aftermarket head units. I don't see the big advantage of these units happening to come in the right shape.
  10. Stav's got a thread with some more info on that here
  11. Hmm, these seem like the dodgy no-name all-singing/all-dancing head units you can get off eBay, which turn out to have terrible sound quality. Or am I wrong ?
  12. Don't worry, I didn't realise it was there until someone from LOC told me !
  13. Yep, lean over the radiator and you'll be able to see a window on the expansion tank, with a "full" marker.
  14. Yeah just search on eBay for the bulb type. I have got an ordinary "inverted" type of LED in my boot light, but it's not bright enough. I've ordered some of these which I think should be brighter.
  15. I seem to remember someone having problems with their alarm which were caused by the siren battery being corroded (which is in the boot somewhere I think ?). Might be worth checking that out too ?
  16. Have fun guys. Can't make it myself but looking forward to seeing lots of pics ! :D
  17. Do you have an induction kit or are you using the TTE airbox and the original air scoop with your supercharger ? The original air scoop sits on top of the radiator panel so should still be able to suck in air as normal, just not so much hot air coming from the radiator. If you've got an induction kit though you may need some other method to channel cold air to the air intake.
  18. The boot bulb is type 501w /T10/w5w. Yes, you can replace it with an LED, lots of members have done that (including me).
  19. Thanks. Yep it looks good powered up, same as Johnboy's one. To achieve that finish wasn't hard really. Just a case of sanding it down and priming it, and then seeing if I was happy with the finish when the primer was on. The primer shows up the state of the surface very well, and it took a few goes before I was finally happy with the effect. Then the top coats were the same satin black from Halfords that Wozza describes in his walkthrough of painting the fascia (I used a black primer though, not grey). Thanks, yep, it sounds great, thanks for the recommendation ! :D
  20. A fair few :) The Facebook group is called "Lexus Owners Club UK"
  21. Thanks ! It sounds good, but I need to have a good read of the manual to figure out how it all works ! Will be going out for a run later and will have a better chance to see how it all sounds.
  22. My new head unit has a dimming feature. To use this, it needs switching on in the head unit menus (default is off). With the dimming function active and connected up, when I turn the lights on, the head unit illumination automatically dims. On the picture below, you can see the amp bypass lead already connected in my car (with two connectors, a black one and a brown one). The OEM connector that used to plug into the OEM head unit is the white one with lots of wires going into it. You should be able to see an orange wire coming off the black bypass lead connector. This orange wire is the illumination wire, and the bypass lead that I bought had a scotchlock connector on the end already : You can check out the wiring diagrams in the online manual to see which wire you need to tap into for illumination (look under "Electrical Wiring Diagram", then "System Circuits", then "Illumination". My car is a 1999 Sport model (with amp, 8-speaker system), and on mine it's a green wire that goes into pin 2 of the white OEM connector. Beware though, there is more than one green wire (on mine at least), so make sure you pick the right one ! In the picture below is it the green wire second from left, next to the red one : Now you need to connect the orange wire from the bypass lead into this green OEM wire. I used the scotchlock that came with my bypass lead, and here it is connected : To finish off the wire, and unconnected with the dimming, here's another picture, showing where I've connected power for the aerial amplifier (blue lead on the amp bypass cable, connecting to the black wire that runs alongside the main aerial wire), after cutting off the OEM white connector on this black wire :
