  1. Similar question to that from Wozza. Was the ABS pulsing ? Did you just slide along with the wheels locked ? In which case you might as well have taken your foot off the brakes and tried pumping the brakes as Wozza suggests, locked wheels aren't going to stop you at all, as you found out.
  2. I really, really, really, must get mine painted ! I've got the paint, stickers and everything.
  3. it cant be that cold in new zealand though can it when australia been having heat waves?? Lol yeah it's summer in New Zealand at the moment.
  4. Are you saying that you have mods but don't declare them to your insurance company ? Sorry, but that's insane. If you have an accident and the insurance company find out about the mods, then they'll void your insurance.
  5. You've said "TRD front bumper TRD lip". What exactly do you mean ? Do you mean just the TRD front lip which fits on the bottom of the OEM front bumper ? Or do you mean the TTE front bumper which is a whole bumper assembly with grille and lip ? I assume you just mean the TRD lip. You can buy them (primered but not painted) from a Lexus/Toyota dealer, part number 08154-53810 Also you can try places like this one
  6. I'd second that. If your DIY skills are 5/10 Wozza, then mine must be about 1/10, and I managed to do a reasonable job on the fascia. It's very easy, you just need to be patient with it.
  7. Gutted for you mate And I hope that the moron who did this has his comeuppance in some way soon :tsktsk:
  8. I didn't get the auxilliary belts changed myself, don't really know about those. I don't know what parts they used, sorry.
  9. I would try ringing around several Lexus dealers. You will get a discount from most if you're a Gold member of LOC.
  10. The part numbers that Aido posted are for the fan-type, that's the part number that I ordered from Lexus.
  11. The list price was £10.32 plus VAT for each nozzle when I bought some back in September.
  12. Lexus dealer (or Toyota). Just buy the washer jets (in your car's colour) for the later-model IS200s.
  13. I paid £327.50 for ToyotaGT to do it. They supplied the parts (e.g. cambelt and pulleys), except that I supplied a new water pump and bypass seal.
  14. Have you checked the appropriate fuses ?
  15. I don't think there's much weight over the rear of an IS200, so it's going to be a problem getting traction on summer tyres. A full tank of petrol may help a bit, as will loading the boot with some heavy stuff (e.g. sack of sand if you have one).
  16. Try phoning the garages that serviced the car, they may well have records, particularly if it was at a dealer, and probably won't mind telling you if the belt/water pump were done. Otherwise you can look at them visually and take an educated guess. A cover needs removing to peek at the cam belt, I got a Lexus dealer to visually check mine for free.
  17. I had both the tensioner and idley pulleys changed when my belt was changed. Given that they rub on the belt I thought it was sensible in case a worn one caused premature wear on the new belt.
  18. Do a search on eBay for "IS200 led rear", you'll find several on there.
  19. Sorry to hear that mate. I wonder if it's worth getting a breakdown of how much of that £408 is the new clutch and how much is labour, to help you in shopping around ?
  20. I guess you get an added snow-plough effect now with the front lip !
  21. Just had a look over on the JAE forums, and still no real news. The organiser is still in discussions with one venue, and also talking to another as a backup in case the first falls through. Posts confirm that it was Essex Council who refused permission for JAE to be held at Mersea Island again, after various complaints :(
  22. ok, thanks for clearing that up. Yep, but I only spent about £260 including the fascia, cables, etc, for a Pioneer (respected brand) head unit which has much better functionality than the OEM head unit (e.g. iPod control, plays MP3 CDs, Bluetooth) and sounds *great*. The fascia blends in with the OEM dash very well IMHO. I find it very, very hard to believe that one of the units made by this company will be anything like as good as my Pioneer unit, based on feedback from those who have bought no-name units off eBay. Even if top manufacturers get theirs made in China, they at least do so to their quality standards. It doesn't mean that everything in China is automatically fine and that the same companies can sell exactly the same units but with no brand name on - otherwise wouldn't everyone be buying them ?
