  1. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but if the garage is going to pay, why not just order some from Lexus ? They should be able to get them overnight if you pay a bit extra - although not sure how this works regarding the weekend.
  2. You can get bulbs with a silver coating, but which flash orange, you may want to check out some of those on eBay.
  3. HIDs are a great mod, easy to fit, don't cost a lot, and make a *big* difference. As for the ARBs, I've got the C-Ones and they're awesome. They come with bushes, whereas the Cuscos don't, so you might want to factor in the price of new bushes (in order to get the most from the new ARBs). The C-Ones also come with *much* stronger mounting brackets for the ARBs compared to OEM, again this should help you get the most out of them (with the Cuscos you'll be using the OEM brackets). Something else on the ARBs, the drop links are notoriously hard to remove due to the way they're designed, and may actually need cutting off, which would mean you need new drop links (this is the same no matter which ARBs you're choosing). Something else to bear in mind as well. A geo setup at WIM will be very worthwhile. Won't make any difference if you have this done before or after upgrading your ARBs, but as Aido said it will need doing again if you then lower the car.
  4. How do we test them properly though, i.e. over an extended period of time to make sure they don't bend or rust ?
  5. The buzzing rattling noise that you can hear isn't coming from the fuse itself, that's the relay, which is in a very similar place. It indicates that you do have some sort of electrical problem going on there, as discussed in detail in the thread that I referenced.
  6. I like the idea of UK-sourced struts combined with the "proper" brackets, if that's going to work out cheaper (assuming he won't charge enough for the brackets on their own to mean that we might as well get the struts from him too). If it's just one person doing it, then I can see the sense of trying to get brackets made up locally. But for a Group Buy where we want them to be top-quality items, easy to fit, etc, then I do much prefer the idea of the tried-and-tested brackets.
  7. Cheers :) I've also emailed Dave Ellen about a Group Buy price from Prolex.
  8. Yeah but the trouble is you need to make sure the brackets are strong enough, won't end up warping over time, won't rust etc. If I was doing a Group Buy for bonnet struts I'd feel *much* happier using some tried-and-tested brackets, even if it cost slightly more. It might be possible to source some struts separately, and then arrange to buy the brackets from the guy that makes them up.
  9. A Group Buy for bonnet struts is something I was planning, I spoke to Dave about this a while back. Haven't put it into action yet though.
  10. Thanks Keith. You were right that it was easy. You were also right that I'm now wondering why I put up with the OEM head unit for so long, the new one is soooooooooooo much better and I love it ! :D
  11. Patrik said that his FRP one from EPRacing fitted pretty badly, and he had to do a load of work on it. The end result looks great, but then Patrik seems to be a very talented guy at this sort of thing (well, anything to do with his Lex !). Not trying to be negative about a potential Group Buy on this, just that as has been said, fitting it is likely to be not simple.
  12. It uses Google's Android platform, which I believe runs on top of a Linux kernel.
  13. Is that something you have to opt into, e.g. eBay sends you a message to ask if you want to try the new design ? I don't see that myself. Sounds interesting. But doesn't that mean you have to give them your eBay password ? Sounds rather insecure to me, though perhaps I'm misunderstanding.
  14. Is the car still going in on the 6th of Feb ? If so, not long to wait till they can get started on it, I can't wait to even hear about how it's going, so I can't imagine how you must be feeling anticipating driving the conversion ! :D
  15. I don't really know the proper answer, but if it was me, I wouldn't want to try adjusting such a safety-critical item like a seat belt myself, I'd rather just get a new one and/or let a garage sort it out.
  16. I remember one member who had a blue IS200, whose sports grille was a different blue, and it did stand out. Can't remember what the exact colour combinations were there. You could just buy one and get it resprayed into the correct colour.
  17. Not sure if this is a bit off-topic to what you originally intended, Ellz, but what do you think are the good points and the bad points about the G1 in general ?
  18. No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. The radiator panel is there to look shiny and blingy when you open the bonnet ! :winky:
  19. £295 plus VAT plus delivery. So that's £339.25 plus delivery :winky:
