  1. I would prefer to ignore those recommendations and follow WIM's advice to use 35psi all round, due to WIM's extensive work on this subject.
  2. When the previous narrower cars first came out, everyone said they were ugly and didn't look like "proper" F1 cars, but we got used to them over time. I expect it'll be the same with the new ones. Right now the narrower rear wing looks odd to me, but I'm sure I'll soon get used to it.
  3. ok, but you don't seem to be acknowledging that Lexus's own OEM settings for the geometry are actually largely responsible for the excessive tyre wear (not just pressures). So if Lexus use those settings, it ain't going to help ! :winky:
  4. In the current icy weather, the OEM traction control doesn't seem to be a lot of use. And I've had one occasion on a slippery roundabout where the back end stepped out quite a lot without any sign of intervention from the traction control. I drive relatively gently too, not like a lunatic. Kind of thinking out loud here, but with mention of the Racelogic traction control on other threads (which I know Stav rates very highly), just wondering on whether a relatively standard IS200 (i.e. no forced induction) it's at all worth considering as an upgrade over the OEM setup ? Or just a waste of money without more power to keep in check ?
  5. Gord, I'm pretty ignorant about this, but is that a turbo vs supercharger issue ? i.e. issues with lag/driveability on turbo setups, but chargers having a more linear power delivery ?
  6. Stiffer anti-roll bars (I have the C-Ones) will *massively* improve the handling of your car, making it a lot flatter around corners. I can't recommend them highly enough.
  7. Thats fantastic, you've got a real talent there, keep up the good work ! :D 240 degrees F does sound pretty high for intake air !
  8. Do you mean that you can feel the difference in terms of performance ? Or just noise-wise ? Great work as always.
  9. Hmm. As I understand it, wheel alignment is quite a different thing from a full geometry setup. Also, Lexus dealers may well still use the OEM geometry settings, which are faulty, so they won't fix tyre wear issues ! Don't go to Lexus if you have tyre wear problems, go to WIM.
  10. I thought it was best to stick to the Toyota stuff due to the way it's formulated to stop corrosion of the engine ?
  11. Isn't that a US site though and hence will cost a fortune to ship something heavy like liquids ? Make sure you get the right type of Toyota coolant. It comes in green, red and pink. Red and pink are the types used on the IS200 I think. As Bazza said, you can get it from Toyota/Lexus.
  12. That's horrible, hope they somehow catch the :tsktsk: who did it.
  13. Have a look at this excellent article from WIM about the effects of lowering an IS200 by varying amounts.
  14. If I'm reading Jason's posting correctly though, it looks like he got the heated bit working for the passenger seat but not electric adjustment for it. My 1999 Sport also has an electric driver's seat and manual passenger's seat.
  15. It can have a large (beneficial) effect, yes. Well worth the trip :winky:
  16. The HKS Hi-Power Silent sounds perfect for you.
  17. There's a whole thread on his car in the Supercharging sub-forum. Check out his latest info, after work by SPC Horsham, here By the way, the pic I've used in the bonnet strut Group Buy thread is his engine bay.
  18. Dave R is allegedly running approx 364 BHP on his IS200 ...
  19. Wozza's guide to preparing the fascia adapter for either single-DIN or double-DIN head units is here :winky: So you can choose either size, depending on what sort of head unit you want. Check out the Audio/Electronics sub-forum for lots of threads on this sort of subject.
  20. I've bought several things from CYC and would concur that they offer very good service and delivery.
  21. Sounds like some great advice from PJ S there :winky:
  22. Sounds like you made a good choice there, no need to buy something with problems unless you're very sure you know *exactly* what those problems are and how much they would be to fix (and strange knocking noises could be something quite minor or something very serious, or anywhere in between). Feel free to ask lots more questions here if you need to, good luck !
  23. There's a big thread on this here :winky:
  24. WIM might seem a bit of a trek, but they're very professional and are experts in this very field. You will be guaranteed of a good job being done there. And it'll be a nice ride home, you may well notice the handling improvement !
