    Yes, if you go to Toyota then they'll get you exactly the right battery. Don't forget to ask for a Gold discount too.

    Wasn't there a LOC member who took it up officially with Lexus GB, writing lots of letters and so forth ? And then he disappeared from the forums, leading other LOC members to assume that perhaps he'd been bought off ?

    I seem to remember several LOC members saying that they got a very good battery price from their dealer, better than Halfords etc.

    Are those prices on Racelogic's website about right for retail ? Obviously if you can get one second-hand it's going to be cheaper. Interesting point that you can of course move it onto another car ...

    I do like the sound of the Racelogic TC, sounds like a very nice piece of kit. Don't think I can justify spending that sort of money (£600+ ?) given I've just got the stock engine, but if I was going down the forced induction route I think it would be very high on my list.

    Break the clay bar into smaller pieces when you're using it. If you do accidentally drop it, then you've only lost a small piece and not the whole thing.

    The changes are summarised in this article on the Parker's website. Basically, the post-March-2001 IS200s were due to have a huge increase in tax, but as the article says, for 2009 and 2010 they go into band "K", which is only a relatively small increase. Who knows what will happen in future years.

    I'm booked into WIM for Monday morning. Already had the geo setup done, but in a very stupid bit of inattentive driving I whacked a kerb at around 50mph. Maybe it's pyschological but it feels like I have put the geo out by doing that. So should be all sorted by Monday afternoon.

    Unfortunately the bit about the alarm makes sense in that the ECU for that is all connected up with the auto headlamps etc.

    That have been proven to know what they are doing. I was really talking about general work on my car. For something specialised like geometry, I'd rather go to WIM even if they cost *more* than Lexus, since the "know what they are doing" seems to be a rather elusive quality in this area.

    So do you work for Lexus, k33rjd ? Genuine question, you seem to be pointing people towards going to Lexus (I'd rather go to a cheaper independent specialist, personally).

    Answering my own question here, but according to Racelogic's website, it does indeed use the ABS sensors and claims to adjust the power of the engine every thousandth of a second. That sounds rather different to the OEM TC which according to postings on here sounds very on/off.

    What does it do ? Presumably it uses the ABS sensors to detect traction problems ?

    Where else would you take your Lexus for a geometry setup but to a company who specialises in setting geometry on cars and specifically did a lot of research on IS200 geometry ?
