  1. The location of the fuel tank sender is shown in this diagram.
  2. When I first got my IS200 I used to think that the MPG reading was useless. Actually, now I think it's quite useful. As long as you're cruising then I think it can tell you something useful, e.g. give you a rough idea of MPG. Though you can get the best feel for it by measuring your mileage and then how much petrol it takes to fill up etc. Fuel economy isn't the car's strong point, but on long runs you can try engaging "Snow" mode - unlike on some other cars this just changes the throttle response (making it less responsive). It sounds weird though if your MPG figure seems to go *up* when you accelerate, that doesn't sound right at all, your MPG should obviously be decreasing. If the reading is above 40 for most of the time then that also doesn't sound right.
  3. Think this thread has the info you need.
  4. If you're looking on eBay, bear in mind that some of the "TTE bumpers" you see on there will be replicas (e.g. made of fibreglass), as well as the real thing.
  5. I believe that they're in the wheel arches. See this diagram.
  6. Sometimes this can happen if the sunroof drain channels are blocked.
  7. IMHO it's a good idea to change it, yes. You have to take all the belts off (including the timing belt) to change the water pump, and you'll be doing that anyway if you're changing the timing belt. If you don't change it and it fails later on, it'll be a big job to replace the failed water pump. The water pump itself runs off an auxillary drive belt.
  8. I was confused at first too, but I'm guessing that Steve2006 is referring to the fact that he's been to the Dominican Republic, which is where Draltezza is based ! :)
  9. Just checked, and it looks like the IS200 and IS300 both use exactly the same OEM springs and shocks anyway. So I can't see that coilovers would be designed any differently for either car.
  10. It'll be the same sort of story with ARBs. The TTE ARBs are probably the only ones specifically designed for the IS200, whereas I imagine the Cusco/C-Ones are designed for the Altezza and the Hotchkis for the IS300. But they all seem to get good reports on the IS200. I presume that the upgrade over the OEM items, whether its coilovers or ARBs, is probably significant enough to make differences between the models negligible. Though of course it's always interesting to learn otherwise.
  11. I think you may have just opened Pandora's box there !
  12. I'm pretty sure that coilovers in general are suitable for each of the IS200/300/Altezza. Yes, effectively the IS300 is just an IS200 with a different engine. ok, there are a few other differences but things like coilovers and ARBs generally fit both.
  13. IMHO it's a waste of money to buy another Lexus head unit, since it'll end up going wrong again at some point, probably with ERR3. I think you'd be far better off putting the money towards a brand new head unit (with warranty) from a reputable manufacturer. I replaced my own head unit with a Pioneer one with Bluetooth and I'm very, very happy with it ! :D
  14. ok, that's interesting. I wonder if perhaps Lexus UK have them down as discontinued and generally won't get them any more, but just like supercharger kits it's possible TTE in Germany have some still laying around.
  15. Some of the unbolting that you have to do it a right pain IMHO, but if I can do it, then believe me anyone can do it ! :D
  16. I remember you saying that you got your TTE ones from Lexus, Yeldarb, but that did suprise me at the time given that a lot of people have said on here that TTE don't do them any more. TTE don't list them on their own website any more. I wonder if you just got lucky and your Lexus dealer happened to have some in stock (which they normally wouldn't), and/or they managed to find a single remaining set. It would be interesting to see if anyone else has any joy getting hold of them.
  17. I will be there at some point with my IS200, not sure exactly for how long etc yet, but I'll definitely put in an appearance.
  18. Bear in mind that pictures of lights at night usually make them look a lot brighter than they really are, due to the camera compensating for the darkness etc. Have a look at this thread for a discussion on the LEDs and a link to how to get to the existing bulbs (slightly tricky but not that hard).
