  1. A good friend of mine owns a curry house with a 20-30 space car park in lyneham(just outside wotton bassett).Im sure he would not mind us using it,may be with the longer light in the evenings we could have a sheery and bite to eat.If there is enough of us im sure i could get a few quid off.Any one interested?
  2. any change of two more tickets here as well plese? i can buy them direct, but like lazy boy would like to use loc?
  3. looking for parts for my car, google is a great thing, and so is your club.Made to feel very welcome and any issues get sorted very fast. Thanks to everyone, keep it up.
  4. anyone going up the m4 or m5, would be great to meet up for the drive up.I think i saw that a few where driving up from london.
  5. o.k i have some answers for you.Known fault and rectification for the clutch judder, there is a modified clutch plate and friction plate, all covered under manufactor warranty. There is allso a rectification for the gear change problems(namely 2nd and 3rd),a new lay shaft and bits and bobs for the gearbox. If you are having the clutch replaced might be worth saying you have issues with 2nd and 3rd gear change to get this new lay shaft fitted while you are there? Lexus wil not do these things as a matter of course, you have to say you have a problem and then the mods are carried out.Back to the 5th injector issue, only the 5th injector and engine e/c/u upgrade are carried out,Toyota are carrying out the tests and ground work with the modified injectors in there T180 range of cars ,if this proves to work then Lexus will follow.Hope that helps? You know what they say,its not what you know......its who!!!!
  6. I would love to come along, not sure what to expect as im a virgin!!!! Of all the stella in your people carrier
  7. 995,054 Boy goes into a butchers and asks for a pound of sausages, the man say"sorry son we have all sold out,how about a pork pie?" the little boy replys"its o.k,iv got my bike out side"
  8. the clicking noise is the throttle idle speed control, its trying to compensate for the drop in engine r.m.p when your car is miss-firing.have you got the engine wet? could be spark or fuel related.
  9. I have been thinking about having my e/c/u remapped or exchanging for an upgraded one.Has anyone done this, and what difference did it make? The places iv looked at are quoting around £300-350
  10. do you know anything about the clutch judder problem. I have not come across that one,but again i will ask the question for you.Can you give me a bitmore infomation,i.e pulling away up hill? temp of car? and year and spec of your car? yes, pulling away on an incline but can't say i have noticed any temp related conditions.the car is 220d se registered march 06 37k miles. Ill see what i can find out

  12. Very pleased you where treated like you deserve to be.The injector mod has about 3 months ago for the toyota, not sure about the lexus, ill have to make some phone calls and find out for you.Sounds like it done the trick with the new 5th injector? There are some other well known issues with the is220d,im not trying to put you off or run your car down, you know you have up to 60k miles or 3 years for warranty.Im trying to give you a heads up to keep an eye on things and get them sorted free under warranty.
  13. I am new to loc so thought i would ask about local meetings??? are there set people who arrange them? are they regular? and so on.I would really like to meet and see the cars that people have in loc, chew over the fat and all that.I can only see major mettings on here, and allthough great they do involve a cost.
  14. A autobox should never use oil,to to go back to point made above, make sure you are checking the oil properly,ie hot and engine running.it makes a big difference.
  15. Very wise words,i would be interested how the gear box was if the engine had a oil leak.a big risk to take if you cant test drive a car.
  16. think you need to take a reality check I tend to agree Raj. I think 77 works for lexus. Good as it is can't see it spanking Audi/BMW at the first attempt When I get my TOM's one :winky: that may be different I beleave there are only 3 per dealer this year to be sold, you can not test drive one and none will be a demo at lexus dealers.you pay your money with no test drive and not even a car in the show room to look at,you view it on there p.c!!!!! they are trying to hit other countries with it first and may be the u.k next year.nice car,but strange selling line!!?
  17. Hi thought i would offer some feed back here for you,i used to work for lexus/toyota up to 6 weeks ago. There are some issues with the 5th injector and all injectors for that matter with the 220d.the engine is from the avensis T180 to start with, where it had small problems with the e.g.r system and water consumption.when they fitted it to the is220 they made it rear wheel drive and re-maped the e.c.u to allow for better driving.this caused the car to over fuel on short runs cloging up the e.g.r even faster and causing ruff idle and poor m.p.g(the car was never great on m.p.g before).the 5th injector is for cold start and extra fuel for high throttle response(very basic discription here)the problem was it was staying in to long and over fueling(this is the e.c.u re-flash you are talking about to aid the problem).the over fuelng was cloging up the injectors making the whole problem worse.Lexus have made new injectors now with a differnt spray nossile and coating to ease the issue.there have been a few cars that have blown head gaskets due to these problems. I hope that shines a bit of light on the subject for you all?
  18. All are very common issues with the gs300,and the noisies are the tell tell signs of the ball joint.Like the man says Advisories are what they say 'advise'
  19. Thankyou all for saying hello.i have put some pics of my car in the gallery.I see some of you have some really great Lexus, hope to see them at some of your meetings.
  20. Great brand, not so great dealer i worked for.Cant fault the product, thats why i own one!
  21. The last chap is right,Lexus dealers are not linked for history they use a kerridge based computor system which is not linked. There is a system how ever that each dealer has to pay to be part of(not many are)but it may be worth a go.Ring your local Lexus or Toyota garage and ask for a service history check(but not kerridge)you never know you might get lucky!!
  22. I have been looking at the loc for a while now,but only just joined.I worked for Lexus/Toyota for 3 years so i may be able to pass on a bit of my knowledge to you chaps.I now work for B.M.W,but please dont hold that againt me!!!
